I should also point out that the games aren't really free to me. I work before, during and after every game, and get get paid nothing for it. But I don't mind because I enjoy the association with Sioux hockey and the opportunity to talk to the players and coaches.
I know this is off the subject but PCM, I was just wondering what kind of work do you do at The Ralph?

Ok, I am doing a speech in school about the Sioux nickname and how I think that it shouldn't be changed. I know I should have put this thread on the Sioux Nickname part but I figured since there are more people who put posts in this section, I could get more info. So I just want to know what your thoughts on the subject are. Ya know, if ya love or if ya hate it. I happen to love it because it has a lot of meaning UND and there athletic programs. I figure, if we've had this logo and nickame for this many years, it shouldn't become a problem now and everyone who doesn't like it should just quit complaining and learn to deal with it. I know that's a little harsh but that is how I feel. Ok, feel free to post your opinion! If you have any links to any good websites that would be awesome too!

Last year, I don't remember the opposing team but. A player lost his stick by the Sioux bench, and skated off to his bench. In the meantime Rory McMahon (who was on the bench) looked around, picked the stick up, broke it and threw it back on the ice. Hillarious!
It was at a Minn-Duluth game. I only remeber that cuz everyone I was with started laughing and I got all pised cuz I missed it. Oh well!

What about this year, when a Sioux player was sitting on top of an opponent- when both teams and all refs were at the other end of the ice. The Sioux player looks around to see if anyone is watching and when he see's that no one is watching he pushes the opponent back into the ice with his stick and skates off w/o the refs seeing. I think everyone in the whole arena saw that one - exept for the refs.
I don't remember who it was or what game it was - but i think i will always remember that one.
It was Mike Prpich at a Minn-Duluth game.

Ok, my favorite moment of happiness was when Nick Fuhrer made the game winner Sunday night against Denver with 1:04 left. I seriously think I got ulsers from that game, I was so worried we were gunna lose!
What else was really cool was at the Saturday game my friend and I were sitting by
Mike Prpich the entire game and we didn't realize it was him until the game was over! -

Um....he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with this girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Ok, I know how the Englestad is having season tickets for the lower bowl of the student section and I know how you have to have a student ID to buy them, but I heard that you have to show your ID to sit there every game even if you have tickets and I just wanted to know if that's true. Can anyone help me?

Good to know that Jordan isn't as hot as Zach. You gotta wonder why Dean would want him though, if the guy isn't hot? Ultimately though I think forecheck is the judge of player hotness. Afterall she is smitten with the Wookie, so she should know best.
Yeah I know!! Blais did a very good job last year, and the years before, of recruiting hott players! He can't stop now! And what's up with everyone saying that forecheck is the judge of player hottness? Did she make the mistake of kidding around and saying that Wookie was hott or something? I heard that he was OK but not nearly as good as Zach. I wouldn't mind if he was the third goalie cuz we are in desperate need of goalies. And for all the girls out there, he's not as hott as

I hated when they had those NDSU-Sioux games there because I don't think that the b-ballers deserve to play at the Englestad. Ralph didn't make the arena for b-ball, he made it for hockey. Yes, I know that he made it so they could use it for b-ball too, but it just bothers me that they didn't have the b-ball games somewhere else. If they need more room since the Hyslop can't fit a whole lot of people, then they should make a whole new building for basketball. But that's just my opinion.

I think we will be good enough to go all the way and so does Bochenski. When I was talking to him he said, and I quote, "National championship. We will be really good." So if one of our best guys thinks we can do it, we can do it!! I just don't want next year to turn out like this year. We have a very good chance of winning it all next year!

Whoa!!! Back the jersey chaser truck up!! No one is bigger jersey chaser than me!! Well maybe not, but I like to think I'm the biggest! I know that I've told you all who is hot in the team more than once but I just want everyone to know that I have a tremendous amount of respect for the guys on the team and I don't sit around all day staring at pictures of the hockey team. And I don't go to the games to check out the players and their cute little tooshies! Well, I do that every once in a while but I go to watch the game.
