If you haven't been watching the Blues/Blackhawks series then tomorrow is a good night to start. Been some highly entertaining games and sure to get pretty chippy in game 5. Oh, and GO BLUES!

Got my email this morning. Will be voting Fighting Hawks again. Not that I am in love with it, but it is the lesser of 3 evils and as I have said before not very likely that this will be a long term name for UND(none of the remaining will be). It is generic but has some good logo and mascot potential and is the only one of the 3 with any potential to garner any long term additional revenue for UND through apparel and merchandise sales which is good for UND and good for me and the company I work for.
If Nodaks or Roughriders are chosen you will get a lukewarm at best response from the current students which will feed down to the future students and young people in the area and across the state. I believe alum will continue to buy the same merchandise and apparel available to them now and slapping the new name on an item will not motivate someone who is a Fighting Sioux alumni to purchase an item with a name on it that has no meaning to them.
Don't like Roughriders as to me it is a "western" based name and a local high school already has the name and I have never liked the name to start with. That said, I could live with the name but would rather not.
Nodaks is terrible unless we are planning on going D3, moving Twamley to East Grand Forks and joining the MIAC.
No one outside of GF will know or give a crap that a local high school is RR. With that said, anything but Hawks #43.

People realize it's roughriders and not "Teddy's riders" or "the Roosevelts". If people are so worried about the racism of teddy then why are they not campaigning to rename the Ralph? Anyway, I'm fine with either Nodaks or Roughriders. Just as long as we're not Hawks number 43.

What a horrible reason to pick FH. So anytime someone says 'hawks' were suppose to yell Sioux? How long will that good times last? As time passes this impulse to yell 'Sioux' will fade - sorry to say. But that bland, unimaginative name will still remain. Remember, this decision is forever (theoretically)
to be clear those aren't my words, it was something I quoted from earlier.

Man this quote function is really difficult. I had a co-worker tell me why she was hoping Fighting Hawks would win. Reason number one: This logo. Reason number two: Fans could shout Fighting Sioux, when Announcer says Fighting Hawks. I feel that she is not the only one of that opinion...
Unfortunately people voted for a logo that will never exist officially. There will be zero resemblance to the Sioux logo. It won't happen.

My fear is people who voted for the Hawks voted for a logo that will not be the official logo. The logo that resembles the Sioux logo will not happen. I fear they voted for the logo over the name. Another generic flapping bird to join the already >20 Hawks out there and >40 birds.... Vote for the name not the logo.

Anyone else have their stream keep freezing? It'll come back without a refresh just keeps pausing randomly.
