Olson moved to Roseau when he was a kid and was part of the 99 MN championship team. Huge kid, 6'5" 235 and still getting comfortable in that body. Had verbally committed to UND his senior year and then Blais didn't sign him when he said he would. I think Canady or Palmiscino or Connolly got the last spots that year. Olson signed with the Florida Panthers and had a very good major junior career- 40 goals last year- in Portland. He's spent this year between SanAntonio in the AHL and Jackson in the ECHL. Great skater with soft, soft hands. Needs to play with more of an edge before he has a real shot at the NHL. I think the Sioux could have used the big guy.
