  1. Not that I would agree, but I think Drew LeBlanc wins the Hobey. I think some voters will see he was Player of the Year in the WCHA and jump to the conclusion that he is the better player. Not sure many people appreciate everything Knight brings to the table like scouts and Sioux fans do. I suppose that could be said of a lot of players though. LeBlanc also brings the comeback angle to the equation since he had to sit out all of last year with an injury. I'm sure some voters could be swayed by that kind of feel good story.

    Leblanc only has 13 goals.

  2. Anyone catch haks interview a few minutes ago? Think it was with a Winnipeg station but could be wrong. Wasnt able to listen. Sure he won't say much like always and today's presser but still interested if so. Thanks

He said ODonnell is still on the top line. Not much else other than that.

Also said it might not be bad to have a couple days off after the loss to CC and that they had some good days of practice.

And reiterated several times that this isn't a series, and you can't have an off day. Our leaders know that.

  3. "If there's any young people out there that have made mistakes: just give up, because it's too late to redeem yourself and you obviously don't have very good character in the first place.

That's the message the Hobey Baker Award voters send.

  4. Disagree. Off ice problems are not what winning the Hobey is all about

Hobey Baker Award - Given to the best college player, or failing that, a good player whose past mistakes never came to light.

  5. @jallengary

jeez, what a mess. don't worry so much about UND, buddy. just enjoy your own team.

subtle trolling is still trolling. you should've came and shared your feelings after we won on Friday and you would've looked like a genius, but as it is, you're just a weak-ass troll.

anybody start that Game 3 Thread yet?

  6. I disagree...the puck hits the pipe in the back of the net and comes out. Should have been a goal.

Sorry, but I'm almost positive that you are wrong.

The Tech player didn't get all of the puck and it was a slow, arching trajectory. It just barely went over the top of the crossbar in its arcing path, and then it hit the top of the net on the back bar and bounced straight up.

It's not possible for that puck to bounce straight up the way it did if it went in the net.

On Brad's Blog you can see the puck bouncing straight up in an impossible way. Even on the overhead angle, if you look closely you can see the puck go over the crossbar and momentarily obscure it from sight.

  7. That Petan sequence should be shown to youth hockey players....what not to do. Its already been said, but my favorite part is when Knight retaliates, and he acts like he got shot....lays down, but through divine intervention is able regain his health and gets two sucker punches in on Kristo.

And if that wasn't enough......the action towards the official? Yeah, it wasn't good last night, but it was a linesman escorting him off.....not one of the head guys. How does the WCHA let him play tonight?

At least he didn't perform a clean shoulder-to-shoulder check.
