  1. Patterson's glove side weakness has been exposed a few times this year during this 6-6-1 stretch. He deffinately needs to work on that part of his game.

I have been impressed that UND is continuing to improve while being loaded with injuries. Reminds me of 2 or 3 years ago the gophers only had 5 healthy defenseman for a few weeks, but that team never made a run.

  2. I figure I should as this question from sioux fans. I am dropping my cable tv and am switching to a dish. I'm debating between direct tv and dish network. I currently get Fox sports north and FSSN on my cable package, but can't get the BTN or alternate FSN channels (gophers are on those sometimes). I want to be able to pick those up, but do not want to give up FSSN. I know my brother in law gets FSSN thru fox college sports on direct tv. Does anybody know if dish network carries FCS to pick up the sioux games. I don't see FCS listed on either of directv.com or dishnetwork.com

  3. Actually they were watching Paul Ladue (Grand Forks Central). He has offers from 5 WCHA schools already. Hope the Sioux can lock him up. Would be a great get and most likely a 4 year player. Very solid player.

Do you know which 5 wcha schools offered?

  4. Maybe some of these idiots will get the point when they see what others think of them. I know we all can say something stupid once in a while, but some of these people its every post.

I'm looking forward for the sioux/gopher series in Janruary. I know it will be rocking in there and the sioux will most likely be on a long winning streak by then. Gonna be a fun weekend.

  5. It depends how the refs call the game, I will stand by my earlier prediction I can see the refs being Shep and Marko Hunt this weekend with McLeod and Daddy Shep in the stand and the UAA with a parade to the box. I would bet anyone a beer on this. I can see the Gophers getting about 10-15 pp chances every night.

If you want UAA to beat the gophs, you should hope they get 20-25 pp chances per night. They can't score anyway.

  6. Please! I am not defensive. I am just chilling. I just happened to correct your statement that was well, wrong. GPL must have fallen apart after the debacle that was the weekend.

One of the sioux-sports posters left themselves wide open with the "didn't we start 0-3 last year?" comment, and I simply said "you ended 0-3 last year" and you are the only one to get worked up about it, proving to be defensive. I was Just having a little fun.

  7. Thanks! Didn't we start 0-3 last year? Erly in the season for Gopher fans to be jumping off the ledge! They are playing some pretty good teams! UND and Denver! If they get swept by tech and Mankato then it might be time to hit the panic button!

I know you guys were 0-3 to end last year!

  8. Does not excuse what he did, not one bit. Schack could have challenged Boe to a fight in the next game instead of jumping him from behind. That would have beent he correct move, not jump him from behind with his gloves on then punch him while still wearing your helmet and gloves. That trumps anything Boe did.

Not here to excuse Schack of anything. Just wanted to point out how Mankato can throw cheap shots. When a team throws cheap shots, they will often receive some back. It may not be right, but I have seen a few players from every WCHA team over the years react the same way Schack did. Thats all I'm going to say.

  9. I am sorry but Jutting's team deserved all the penalties they got this weekend. Like I said in a previous post this is one of the dirtiest teams I have seen in a long time. Jutting has a rep for abusing officials and whining.

And many of you on this board wonder why Schack had to beat the crap out of a couple Mavericks during the Gopher and Mankato series. I'm not saying Minnesota didn't throw any cheap shots, but I know that Mankato can cheap shot with the best.

  10. I don't think there is any argument if Finley could hold his own. I just don't think he's willing to throw the first punch to get a fight started and risk getting kicked out of the next game. Maybe that will change this year when a non conference opponent is scheduled for the next week. We'll see.
