Logged on to the POI site last night and said Wow, what the heck did I do. I couldn't believe it. Then I had to make sure my wife didn't see it. Wow, so it wasn't hacked eh? Someone has a sense of humor...
I wasn't saying it wasn't hacked, just that my info is that it was the DNS server that got hosed. The feeling I got was that they were sloppy not malicious. Again, sounds like others here have TONS more knowledge on this subject than I, so I may be wrong. I deal w/ metal and plastic, not web stuff.

it is safe to *try* POI, the address as of right now will not resolve. But the "BAD" stuff is no longer showing up.

OK, I an "just" an engineer, I don't understand all the web stuff that goes on. But Sal told me last night that the DNS server got messed up. Best info I can transfer at this point. Considering the web site redirect was for a pay site, I would think that if it was intentional, they would be caught rather quickly? This happened a few months back and it was the DNS server that was hosed up, I would assume it is the same problem. That is about the sum of what I know about this whole DNS stuff. I'll go back to making parts now....

POI was not "hacked". Most likely the DNS server dealio screwed up today. This happened a few months back...needless to say this is a bad thing that can happen to ANY board on the web.

After the Gophs KILLED the BADgers last night, I would hope your boys have no problems with them either...and we even had Adam not making good calls after it became a blow-out! Have faith in your squad, they will be in the top 3. Lord knows the JBSU team will implode at any second (hopefully in our last two games of the season)! The Suzzies should have no problem with the Mav's, just don't let them think they have a chance and they fold faster than Favre on Vikeden! In my book I am thinking the top three: CC, Gophs, UND, and only a point or two in between 'em.

So what happened to your boys? Now it will that much easier for the Gophs to secure second place by the end of the season!
Second place will be a fight between our teams I believe, the Mavs and JBSU will be fighting for fourth place. Did your boys get outplayed, out lucked, or out reffed? Now I will go hide behind said shield...remember dagies invited us over!

GO GOPHERS! Sorry, had to be said!
I was up at the UAA/UMn game and was watching the scores from the WCHA...I was hoping for a split from this weekend for you, but looks like CC is a virtual lock for the regular season. Second place will be a tight fight between the Sioux and the MIGHTY GOPHERS! The Mavs WILL NOT hold on to the second or even third place....
Sounded like the green boys had a touch of the flu bug? Not just making excuses?

I knew I would get it for making fun of the refs. Like I have said MANY times on POI, all I ask is a good CONSISTANT ref. Anderson is not. He made BAD calls both ways. The gophs just could not finish this weekend. AN open net at the end of todays game would have been nice, but that last nail in the coffin seems to be missing this year...

UGLY game
The Mavs pretty much sucked the whole night and the only time(s) they could garner much beyound a 2 on 2 was when the piece of crap Anderson had his head so far up his...he could see day light. It seems the Mavs play has not changed much since the begining of the year. They can't skate with a good team so they end up clutching/grabbing/generally doing anything they can to keep the play slow. The missed calls and the bad crap that Anderson let go last night will only lead to his dismisal as a ref. The poor sportsmanship of the Mavs will make them the second UW team in the WCHA, the second good squad if you will. The double 5 on 3 power play was just plain bad. Any small infraction got a penalty. Anderson was just not in control of the game. THe Gophs ended up on the short end and paid for it. But hussled back to tie it and Volp should be counting his lucky stars that the 3-4 pipe shots and the puck that slid across the pipes didn't go in. Should have been 6-1 last night, but it is hard to play hockey when you can't check. Case in point, the gophs get a penalty for contact with the goaltender, after the Gopher is checked into Volp, and then while on top is getting his back beaten with a stick...yeah, real good officiating.
All I ever want out of the officials is constisancy, but consistantly making bad calls is not the end of the spectrum I want to see.

Seriously, I have noticed a general trend in hockey latley. It seems that everyone has to have someone to rip on on each team. You can have a stellar year and still have the media and/or fans picking some guy apart on your team. The world needs scapegoats and the runts of the litter....the WCHA just has the BADgers....

As for a love fest, I think not, I am just trying to behave! UND ranks in my top three of hated rivals! At least I can say the visiting UND fans two weeks ago were civil in the bar before and after the game and not complete whiners like JBSU fans. That is about the only compliment you'll get out of me tho....

lots of posts on the UND board about the Gophers....
This weekend IS a critical series for the Defending Champs, we need to get some points ahead of JBSU before they swwon at the end of their season again. While we had a few problems at Kato, I think the Gophers are a much more solid team now than they were those weeks ago. Weber has been solid in nets and has much more confidence than he did back then. Add to the mix Potulny and I think the Gophs should have no problem pulling at least 3 points out of this weekend. Guyer has been playing well and IMO will fill Koalska's spot nicely.
That being said, you never know what type of ref will show up at the game, Kato played us last time very clutch/grab/hold, if called well this weekend, we should easily outskate them and bang plenty of pucks into the nets!

as for the whole U2 thing, bear in mind that is is a GOPHER board at POI and just like people can get banned anywhere, showing repsect of the board you visit is a good idea. The Roberg comment was a nail in the coffin of the whole deal. I felt that U2 was trending towards a flamer of Gopher hockey and don't really feel too bad about the whole thing. The way I understand it the ban is tepmporary and w/ some talking to Sal U2 can get back in. I appreciate good commentary from opponents and U2 had some of this. But with some of the other comments he was making it caused some problems. U2's blathering and whining here reminds me of a child who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and is trying to justify his actions.
The other thing that UPB pointed out is U2's lack of usign a valid e-mail addy. Just like HERE that is grounds for the boot.
If I ever post here again, be sure I would be mindfull of things I say, being in enemy territory, as most regular UND fans at POI do.
That said, I am sure if I started posting here about Parise being ONLY an above average player, I am sure that would ruffle a few UND fan's feathers....keep that in mind when you judge POI and Sal.
