it seems that hakstol can't get the players to come together and play well. they still need a lot of work and i just don't think they can even get close the ncaa tournament. we should have never hired him, where's scott sandelin when we need a good coach. who's with me?

Before everyone counts Devils Lake out I would like to remind you that Grafton lost to Jamestown in Jamestown last year. Grafton was top four in the East last year. There is no definite top four this year in the EDC and it is very irrational to judge the success of the first half of a teams season on one game against a team that is known for knocking off teams that have more quality players than they do.

I know what they are trying to convey that if WF would have buried there chances it could have been a much closer or an OT game. The point I am trying to convey is that had North converted all of there chances we could have been looking at a 8-2 trouncing. But those are all if, ands, or buts; so the way I see it North came away with a 5-2 win and it should be treated as such no matter when the goals were scored or how close WF was to scoring one more goal.
After Red River snuck past WF 3-2, I think North did make a statement by beating them 5-2.

I just don't like seeing the team I played for, go out and make a mockery of our program. I realize that this years team isn't nearly as good as last years team so maybe I shouldn't hold them to as high of a standard but I still have a lot of Red River pride. There is nothing I hate more than to see my alma mater go out and make a program that has been so good in the past look bad by beating a terrible EGF team 5-4 and than beat a team like WF 3-2.
Maybe its a good thing that it was a close game because that means teams are getting better.

It is sadness that I first report the death of Jason Stadstad, former Grand Forks Central hockey player. Stadstad passed away Sunday.

I believe the two best goalies in the state are Michael Hillman (recruited to play for Bismarck of the NAHL), and Sean Diechert. Sean and Michael were arguably the best goalies in the state last year (Rosendahl, Kringstad) and with Red Rivers goalies playing back-up last year and only playing 6 games this year, I do not think it's reasonable to say they are at the same level as these two.

Well, we played a good game, had many chances but couldnt capitalize on a few. EGF's goalie is what kept them in the game. EGF to me, as a fan in the stands, looked to be a pretty good team. I think that we could have played a better game then we acaully did, but hey, do what you gotta do as long as you get the W.
I also don't want to hear anymore excuses.
