  1. ASU also is trying to decide what to do with their football stadium. They figure it should cost a couple of hundred million to do. Don't think they are going to spend money on a rink right now. They would most likely have to play in the US Airways arena and compete with the Suns for time. Right now their club team plays in arena that the high schools only practice in. AZSIOUX should remember this place on McClintock just south of McKellips and north of the 202.

I've played adult league in the Ocean Rink you are referencing, yeah definately not D1 worthy, Jobing.com is way too far from campus, as is the Ice Den in Scottsdale, and the Arcadia rink in downtown phx is too outdated for the NCAA to allow a team to play there. Not trying to be the negative one, but I agree the sundevils will not have a d1 presence anytime soon.

  2. My guess is that the next DI programs will be on BTN.

I suspect it'll be Iowa or Northwestern or Indiana.

I would doubt it would be Iowa, the closest rink to Iowa City is in the Coralville Mall 10 miles away and maybe seats 200-300 people. It is not adjacent to the mall it is literally in the concourse of the mall.

  3. AZ, I'm bringing the family down for Squirt's baseball tourney in Chandler. I guess my question is: "do you know if RT's has internet access for any of their monitors?" in case nobody picks up the ESPN360 link.

Whereas my first choice is to watch the game live and my second is to watch it at a bar full of rabid Sioux fans, I am bringing connections for my laptop to fit on the TV, I have a USB-optical, USB-HDMI and 9 pin to 9 pin anticipating any and all possible hookup options the resort TV may offer. I suppose you could all come there! :D

I know they have shown webcasts from Colorado College with that stupid tiger floating around on them before so I'd assume they have a hook up to show webcasts still.

  4. Finally on my way home from work . . . can i please get a score/time update? tried to go back and find a score but apparently i missed Armageddon on ice? as that was all that was coming up. thank you.

1-1, Frattin flattened a gopher for a 5-minute, then a little skirmish ensued. Nice screen name, Iowa alum here.

  5. agreed good hard hit probably a charge

I could see a charge or a boarding because it looked like he left his feet, didn't see the replays because FCS has now become nothing more than an audio feed on my TV. But the injury is what made it a 5 in my opinion

  6. I love getting unique or custom jerseys as much as the next guy if not more so - i.e. Toews Winter Classic jersey, throwback Sioux, Vikings, and Twins jerseys, but this site doesn't look right to me. A few things that worry me can be seen in the Minnesota Wild section. Look at the difference in the greens in the Cal Clutterbuck, Mikko Koivu, and Derek Boogaard third jerseys. All three are a different shade of green; same thing with the red on the Pierre MB and Clutterbuck home jerseys. Now maybe these are all due to lighting but it just doesn't strike me as an overly professional practice to have this much inconsistency in your jersey pictures. However if someone does order from them and they are legit - let me know because the prices are pretty damn good, I just think they're too good to be true.

  7. These are the situations where I prefer to quote Jake Taylor (the character from the move Major League, not the gopher flunkie)

    from imdb.com

Jake Taylor: [Jake stands up] Well then I guess there's only one thing left to do.

    Roger Dorn: What's that?

Jake Taylor: Win the whole f***ng thing.

  8. Would someone post the score and who scored for the Sioux? My internet connection is so slow if I go back to read the thread, I'll still be reading page 3 come Monday morning. Thanks in advance.

    First period

    No scoring.

    Second period

UND 1, Minnesota 0 -- Evan Trupp 1:17 (sh). Trupp strips a Gopher defenseman of the puck, moves in shorthanded and beats Kangas five-hole.

UND 2, Minnesota 0 -- Jason Gregoire (Evan Trupp, Matt Frattin) 5:13 (pp). Frattin has a good chance and it winds up in the slot, where Trupp tips it to Gregoire at the bottom of the right circle. Gregoire snipes it in for a 2-0 lead.

UND 2, Minnesota 1 -- Ryan Stoa (Sam Lofquist, Cade Fairchild) 7:41. Minnesota finally puts some pressure on and Stoa bangs in a rebound of a Lofquist shot.

UND 3, Minnesota 1 -- Ryan Duncan (Jason Gregoire, Brett Hextall) 11:25. Gregoire leads a rush on the left wing and puts a shot on goal. Duncan is able to knock the rebound in out of the air.

UND 4, Minnesota 1 -- Jason Gregoire 17:29. Gregoire makes a strong play in the neutral zone and goes on a breakaway. He makes a move to his backhand and buries it five-hole on Kangas.

    Third period

UND 4, Minnesota 2 -- Ryan Stoa (Cade Fairchild, Jordan Schroeder) 4:29. UND tries to get the puck out of the zone, but it ends up on Fairchild's stick. He feeds Stoa in the slot and the captain rips a shot off the post and in for his second goal of the game.

UND 5, Minnesota 2 -- Andrew Kozek (Chris VandeVelde) 8:46. VandeVelde makes a great power move and puts a pass on the stick of Kozek in the left circle. Kozek snipes it to break a six-game goal drought.

UND 6, Minnesota 2 -- Ryan Martens (Joe Finley, Darcy Zajac) . Martens takes the long rebound off the end wall and puts it in the short side. Kangas out.

UND 6, Minnesota 3 -- Jordan Schroeder (Ryan Stoa, Jay Barriball) 12:24. The Gophers score on a 2-on-1, when Stoa moves Eidsness out of positions and dishes to Schroeder for an easy goal.

  9. That was an awesome play. Great to see it as the number play of the day on Sportscenter

Glad I DVRd sportcenter tonite in HD. PLay was cool to see the first time on my computer off youtube, Thanks for putting it up, but looked a lot better in my living room in HD on the big tv while drinking a Heinken.

  10. I don't have any soup! Too bad I was sick last weekend instead of this weekend, I used my supply. :D

And I'm certainly not driving to the store in this crazy superbowl traffic.

I hear ya on that im out in AZ too and this Super Bowl traffic is insane.

  11. did everyone see Rick Nash's goal last night? Has to be the goal of the year.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=d8B4SvyV4C4

Yeah I was actually at the game live, it was an awesome goal. Phoenix had just tied it on an empty netter, and the crowd was totally deflated by the goal. Great last couple minutes of action. Also saw two people wearing sioux jerseys, one in the section to my left and one in the section to my right.

  12. Hey just curious if anyone knows of any sports books online where you can bet on things like who will make the frozen four. I remember seeing a while back vegas lines on who would make it and saw a couple teams I thought I'd like to throw some $ on.

  13. between periods I will be the the one standing next to proudsioux in the keystone line hoping he will buy me a 32oz'er :D

If we lose to BC I will be the one walking around with a sharp scissor sticking out of my eye socket :D

Other than these two things i will be dressed in my black subtle FIGHTING SIOUX attire ............... skate to #8

Are they going to serve beer in STL or will it be like milwaukee was last year?
