  1. As expected, the Star-Tribune put their pro-Gopher slant on the loss, making it sound like a "win".

    :glare:

The streak is over......we lost the game......but we are the "real winners". Yeah, okay, whatever. :silly:

The next streak that really needs to end is the NCAA title streak. And it can't happen soon enough for me. Time to serve up a well-earned and well-deserved hunk of humble pie.

And if this post qualifies as "ripping" a "student-athlete", then so be it. No more Mr. Nice Guy.

A special kind of stupid.

  3. Oh the irony...

Oh the lame response minus any shred of evidence backing up the bull manure assertions.

Yeah...a couple clowns herein are inner circle...in the loop regarding recruiting methods at Minnesota. Sure thing. :silly:

  4. The arrogance was in contacting her and inviting her in for a look-see...and THEN telling her that they actually had no interest in having her play at Minnesota.

Hey...your account is good enough for me. Gospel. They sat her down after inviting her then simply said we have no interest in you. Thanks for stopping by. You bet. :silly:

What a fabricated crock of !@#$.

  5. And yours are fresh doggie doo. I didn't say lack of recruiting, I said 'arrogance' of recruiting. The person I know...his daughter shows up to MN for a visit because THEY invited her. She was promptly handed a list of their top five recruits for next year and told she was number six on their board but she should consider other options because as the #1 team in the land, they weren't worried about losing any of the other five ahead of her. The 'recruiting visit' was a total turn-off...and I am guessing she wasn't the only recruit treated so poorly.

Minnesota Women's Hockey...Scandinavia's Pride on Ice.

Righto again chief. :silly: Tremendous arrogance to be honest, forthcoming and up front with a potential recruit. Better to lie and promise her ice time and tell her she should ignore all her other options. Gee, I wonder if your personal acquaintance is an oh so infrequently encountered angry, bitter hockey parent because his daughter wasn't Minnesota's top priority in her class.

Fargo kid seems happy enough with the recruiting methods. ;)

Scandinavia's pride on ice. Maybe you should actually take a gander at the UND roster at some point.

  6. When the homer gopher announcer is talking about the gophers getting away with penalties ...

but hey you can believe whatever you need to believe.

Selective hearing. I'm listening and watching. I would guess he's calling as he sees it. Including also mentioning blatant non-calls on UND as well. Didn't hear that I guess.

  7. Of course there was, but my point was that when Wisconsin was the dominant team in the country for 4 years, they did not seem to be labeled with the kind of arrogance that was pointed out earlier in this thread.

Yeah...that "arrogance" is also a total load and nothing more than a fabrication out of sour grapes.

  8. Wisconsin completely dominated women's hockey for many years up until Minnesota's recent run, but they never seemed quite so evil. Maybe it was Mark Johnson's class.

Not too familiar with the WCHA women prior to Wisconsin success under Johnson I guess. See UMD and UM history prior to UW championship teams.

  9. Bummer. I'm so sick of TC media and their talk of the streak. Please please someone beat the Gopher women's team.

I personally know someone whose daughter is one of the top players in Minnesota. Their arrogance in recruiting is unbelievable.

Righto chief. :silly: There lack of recruiting success clearly backs that up. I personally know parents of several top Minnesota players past, present and future. Your comment is complete load of fertilizer.

  10. http://www.uscho.com...-i-womens-poll/

    http://www.usahockey...college-hockey#

Two pre-season polls. UND under-ranked in both in my opinion. Surely in the USCHO poll. I know prognosticators are considering the twins graduation but I think UND will have one of the higher powered offenses just the same. Goaltending must sustain the level of play exhibited in the 2013 post season. A necessity. Appears the position may have been fortified. Very good young D will have to adjust fairly quickly to fill the large role played by Monique in the D zone. Have that capability, ultimately I believe.

  11. Having not read the article, I am assuming they made reference only to the Gophers as their former college team. Well, that would, of course, be wrong. It would have been more appropriate to say, "Former Gopher players that finished their college careers with North Dakota".

Of course, I would have written, "Former Rodent players that saw the error of their ways, rejected that program and helped lead the University of North Dakota to a promising future in women's college hockey then ending their careers with zero NCAA championships while Minnesota, their former team enjoyed incredible, multiple NCAA record breaking successes of an epic and historical magnitude including two NCAA championships in back to back seasons". But, I am a bit biased.

    FYP.

  12. I'm sorry, but that officiating won them the damn game. And it was clear at the game that the refs decided to decide the game. I hate that. Let the players decide it. I'm just sad for the girls that the game had to end like that. My theory on the unwritten rule about calling penalties in OT has gone out the window. And they shouldn't even have gotten that power play that scored the game-tying goal either. Terrible call. But it is what it is. Hopefully in a few years we'll turn the tables on them.

What a major load. Spread this post over the No Dak agricultural landscape and watch the crops flourish.
