I've been thinking that since it debuted.  I get that's it's a play on the name of the school song, but the title alone makes it sound like it's a boring, waste of time and nothing to get excited about.

Have you listened to it? It's weird because they "Sit Down" with guests. I mean, I'd rather listen to them conduct interviews on a treadmill, but this will have to suffice.

  2. He couldn't do a worse job than Ponder. ???

Totally agree. Same could be said for a ton of NFL backups. As a non-Vikings fan, yeah Ponder sucks, but there's a lot more to that situation than back QB play.

  3. The QB position is more about intelligence, instincts, heart and leadership and less about metrics. Joe Montana didn't have the greatest arm strength in the world. I was ticked off when the Vikings didn't take a chance on Boise State QB Kellen Moore a couple of years ago. He's now Stafford's backup in Detroit. And of course at UND, you had Joey "McNabb" Bradley with his blond hair and strong arm do jack squat for us. Screw metrics, screw the tale of the tape; I want intelligence, instincts, heart and leadership in my QB.

He's actually Shaun Hill's backup in Detroit. He is smart, though, since he hasn't lost the clipboard yet.

  4. Does everyone realize that under this new NCAA (warm jell-o) stance that United Center in Chicago can not bid on hosting NCAA (hockey, hoop) events because the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks logo is all over that building?

I'd guess FedEx Field is in the same situation (home of NFL's Washington Redskins) if they ever wanted to bid on hosting soccer or lacrosse tournaments.

I wonder if the management groups of those facilities have "asked" Myles Brand about this yet.

I did not realize this. The Big Ten basketball tournament was recently awarded to Indianapolis (over Chicago) when it looked as though Chicago (and the United Center) would easily win the bid. Although not an "NCAA" event, I wonder if the NCAA's decision had an impact there. It would be interesting to know.

  5. Apolling Appalling? If you read the article, I'm not sure how you could've used any positives in the headline or the lead. The team misses free throws, shoots poorly, doesn't hustle and the coach says that they don't have any passion... I'm not sure that "Sioux demolish Golden Eagles" would be an appropriate headline. Of course, what do I know? That's the disgruntled Sioux fan mentality. Find fault in something, heck, even blame the media. Couldn't get a dig in on how it wasn't televised?

  6. I would have to say that my favorite moment in Sioux basketball history is the '95 Sioux Bison game where Travis Tuttle dropped a 3 late in the game to just about clinch it. But, to put the nail in the coffin, my favorite UND player of all time, Dave Rettker, stole the ball and drove the length of the court to slam it home. I have never heard the Hyslop so loud!

2nd Favorite: James Baird slam dunk........date and opponent is unknown but I do remember seeing it in the Hyslop. Good stuff!

Shutup, Bobyck. You know your fav moment was J.J. Jumper doing his thang during the Elite 8. Don't hate. Or maybe it was the time Ashley Langen scored and was fouled....remember that?

  7. Internet message board.

    I'll say it again.

    Internet message board.

Opinions welcomed. Drama unwelcomed. Canadians wearing toques into the Ralph while "working" the event? ALSO should be unwelcomed :)

So much for Canuck presenting facts to back-up an argument. I've been on the wrong end of too many debates with that guy to not believe him. Ask him what he thinks of the 1998 Michigan squad...

Legend, Tugger digs Indy. Good times.

  8. 1) Brendan Morrison would have been eligible during his freshman year of 1993-94 but did not make the team. I cannot recall whether or not he was invited to camp and subsequently cut, but I can tell you that the 1994 Canadian team was absolutely loaded up front and eventually won gold, so it's difficult to argue with the team that was picked:

    1994 Canadian Junior Team

2-3) Zajac and Murray I discussed in an earlier post. Zajac didn't make last year's team, which steamrolled its way to gold, and is too old this year. Murray was eligible two years ago, and (I believe) was invited to the evaluation camp, but ended up getting his U.S. citizenship and playing for the U.S. instead.

    4) Ryan Bayda's freshman year at UND was 1999-00 and his birthdate was Dec. 9, 1980. That would have made him 20 years old during the 2000 tournament and therefore ineligible.

    5) Brett Skinner's freshman year at DU was 2002-03 and his birthdate is June 28, 1983. That would have made him 20 years old during the 2003 tournament and therefore ineligible.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Sure, you go and muddle it up with facts and stuff. Zajac got hosed. Period. Canada was lucky to win EVERY GAME 10-1 without him last year :)

The real question is: Jose Canseco...Hall of Fame or no?

  9. There are a couple of other interesting things about Central Missouri.  They only have 10 players who have at-bats this year, something that is almost hard to believe.

According to this link: http://www.cmsu.edu/athletic/baseball/04stats/TEAMCUME.HTM they have had 15 different players step to the plate this season. Still, a small number, especially for a DII school.

Also, Sharpe looks as though he could be wild, throwing 12 WPs and hitting 7 batters. Patience will definitely be a virtue that the Sioux hitters will need to possess in order to succeed.

  10. The best part of this thread is that the Bison fans keep yammering about great their SCHEDULE is ... :D;)

    Win a trophy,

    Win a nickel,

Have nicer facilities than your DII brethren,

THEN talk about how great you are.

Till then, don't gloat about Southern Utah.

  11. Even better, Flyers face the Wings in the finals. In game 1 Hatcher smashes JR's face beyond recognition for a second time. His jaw is wired shut as the Wings destroy the Flyers in 4 games so we thankfully don't have to listen to him whine. ;):D

Listen to him whine?!? I think he's handled getting his face rearranged quite well, thank you. Whining would be the term used for what Kris Draper did... "Yook at my fafe!"

  12. I guess I don't understand why this game is not being shown. What is the problem? Is it really that complicated or hard? :glare:

    "Complicated" (expensive)

    "hard" (again, expensive)

Good thing everybody in this forum is a Sioux fan and can get any game, any time. AND, have more than half of the season's schedule televised, something the Michigans, Boston Colleges, Maines, hell almost EVERYBODY can't claim.

  13. I was watching a game from the early 80's on ESPN classic the other night and noticed how strange the boards looked without ads plastered all over them. Also the ice had nothing but lines and circles. The powerplay was not "brought to you by Acme Corp".

Yeah, getting money for mentioning BK during the starting lineups is the reason for a bad atmosphere... He\_\_, I'll tattoo Taco Bell on my butt if they give me enough money. Doubt it would wreck the atmosphere either :lol:
