In all reality though, our game with Michigan isn't a supposive cake-walk like the Goofs. Now with that being said, through past experiences, the Goofs should know this isn't a cake walk.

Agree, but the conversation right now is, "the Gophs did it, now it's our time to take care of business." Another new tape job, an extra check of the skates, the Sioux will be ready just having seen this result...

If anything, I think this is a wake-up call and should make the Sioux a little more focused heading into tonights game. There is nothing that gets the butterflies going more than watching a game before yours and seeing something happen that shouldn't be...this result this afternoon will result in a more intense effort from the Sioux tonight...

Maybe I just don't get it? I've been a Sioux fan for thirty years and have seen more gophers thrown on the ice in Grand Forks than most people have ever seen gophers. What I don't understand is the desire to see the Gophers lose today...why? Unless you are all chicken sh#t, which I don't believe to be the case, why would you not want to go through the Gophers in winning #8? I just don't get it...beating the Gophers in the Region Finals would be so much more rewarding than beating ANYONE else...the only thing better would be beating the Gophs in the Frozen Four Finals. Would someone please explain...

They have a BC/UNH rematch set and a Gophers/UND rematch set. Stupid. PWR is not accurate enough to warrant strict adherence when seeding the teams.

Our first concern is avoiding intraconference matchups. We have two of them.
We have to move Michigan State, which we will do by switching North Dakota with the Spartans.
Then we have to move Maine, which we will do by switching it with Miami.
So the tournament is now fixed.
I guess UND and MN aren't in the same conference...IDIOT!!!!

Some how, the latest bracketology on USCHO has the Sioux as a #2. I'm not sure how they get up to #6 since they're 8 without the bonus and 10 with.
Anybody care to shed some light?
I KNEW IT!!! It's a bunch of bullsh#t. The bonus is negative...not positive like we were all thinking...it's probably .997, not .003...we deserve a number two! Just hope Moy loses focus on the way to his pairings which have us in the same bracket as the Gophers...

No shame Sioux Fans. You're team played hard. the Gophers just played a little harder and got the bounce that mattered most. The biggest crime is if we are paired up in the same regional bracket. We deserve a chance at meeting in the title game.
Oh yeah, about the jersey pop, that's just honoring the M. I'd rather see our guys pay homage to the treasured M, than being a delf serving glory boy like you see in the NBA and NFL.
Not to rub it in, but this feels damn good to say. You can have the DQ Cup. You earned it. We'll take the McNaughtom and Broadmor. We earned those.

This game will go down as a classic in WCHA history. Great effort by both teams. If they do put MN and UND in the same region it will be too bad, because I think both teams are one of the top 4 in the country.
A classic, I guess, but candidly I think a classic requires a top-notch effort from both teams participating (ie, 2006 Rose Bowl). I feel this was a case of the Sioux not playing as well as they could and have been playing and the Gophers ready to play. I love Hak and the work he has done, however, I think Lucifer did a better job of getting ALL of his guys ready to play.

I'd have to believe there is some judgment as if there weren't they wouldn't leave the "bonus" feature on there...quite honestly I don't know the answer to this, other than it was what I felt after watching a bunch of piss-poor hockey (and attendance) at other conference championships...what a joke if the WCHA only gets three teams...what a joke!

Just got to thinking...during the game I was drinking Shiner Bock...for those of you that don't know Shiner Bock is a brown bottle with a golden yellow label that is very reminiscent of a Gopher jersey. Then I threw in a "rally dip" and the can of snuff was Red and White (went cheap with the Grizz), but both teams won (UMN and Wisco). I tried to cover the beer bottle with a green and white coozie but it was too late...
From now on it is Rolling Rock and Kodiak all the way for me...no messing with karma...

See, this is what I like to see from both schools. This is what us and SDSU have and it will be tough to have the same with und.
I have never like und sports in anything, but i did see that jersey fling at the the end of the game just now on the news.
I can't believe i am saying this...........let's start a ND invasions of MN starting with hockey now and ending with FOOTBALL at the FFD #2!

Anyone else notice how classy the Gopher fans were doing the sieve chant to Phil after a game like that. Says a lot about the type of fans they have when the do a sieve chant after the end of a hard fought game by both teams. What a joke!!! Glad to be done playing at their home field advantage rink for this year!
Sioux looked pretty flat tonight. Hopefully they can pick it up again for the rest of the games. The Gophers played much better than they did the last time we met. Things will be different next time when they don't have the home field advantage!
Being a sore loser is just as classless...the Gophers outplayed the Sioux with the exception being between the pipes...get over it...it's winning the last game of the year that matters...I like the Sioux' chances...

Observation #1: The Gophers showed why they were the best team in college hockey tonight. Have fun playing as the favorite...
Observation #2: The Sioux deserve a #2...I wouldn't be surprised if they get one for reasons un-Pairwise related.
Observation #3: Doug Woog, for the first time in my life, was pretty good and incredibly un-biased on color tonight.
Observation #4: A lot of you posting on this site concern me...
