Has anyone seen this before, especially midseason? Apparently, the idea was thought up by Martin Lapointe, and Adam Burish (Wisconsin). Fans and the media have ate it up, making a good name for a great franchise.
The NY Rangers have been doing a stick salute at Center Ice after every home win since the lock-out. In addition, each Ranger named as a three-star selection tosses a puck into the crowd.
I've also seen the San Jose Sharks do something similar with their three-star selection. Each Shark named as a three-star selection huddles in the tunnel, autographs a hockey stick and tosses it into the crowd.
It's good to see that these acknowledgements to the crowds/fans is becoming more and more prevalent.

I'm sure he'd still rather be playing, but it'll be nice to see him back in Lincoln this year...
"The Lincoln Stars rounded out their coaching staff by naming Nick Fuher as assistant coach for the 2007-08 season. Fuher, a former Stars defenseman during the 1999-2000 and 2000-01 seasons, will reunite with former teammate Nick Fouts on Lincoln

I made a bunch of Frozen Four DVD's for Sioux fans way back when. I still have them saved and can burn more copies if anyone's interested.

Does anyone have any details about Gregoire's injury? All that I heard was that is was lower body, but he was out for an awful long time.
From what I've heard, he had surgery on his ankle, but it didn't heal correctly, so he had to have additional surgery.

Gregoire with 2 goals tonight in his first game back from injury.

Oh one of those I've heard they can be very painful, thanks
Taken from today's newspaper article:
"Gregoire has scored eight points despite playing only four games, and should give Lincoln a boost when he returns from an ankle injury, Johnson said."

There are many reasonably-priced hotels near the UNO campus. But if you have any trouble finding something let me know. My parents were both born and raised in Bismarck and have lived in Omaha for 25+ years. They will be going to the game (decked out in Sioux gear) and can help make arrangements for people travelling from ND if needed.
Also, for anyone interested in taking in some hockey games while in town:
The Omaha Lancers (play in Council Bluffs) will host Sioux Falls on Friday night and Lincoln on Saturday night.
UNO hosts Notre Dame both Friday and Saturday nights.

"We are planning on aggressively defending our right and our responsibility, quite frankly, to conduct our own NCAA championships in an environment free of racial stereotyping," said NCAA spokesman Bob Williams.
...and having the Pontiac name and logo plastered everywhere at your "own NCAA championships" is what?

Johnson will stay with Stars

I attended one of my first college hockey games during the Hrkac's years and I distinctly remember these passing drills they would do in warm ups. They would basically just flip the pucks back and forth to each other and catching the pucks on their sticks. I may have been young and dumb but that drill amazed me in the couple of times I saw it. That 1987 team was amazing to watch.
That's interesting. I wonder if that's the same drill Steve Johnson has the Lincoln Stars do during warm-ups. The 4 groups of forward lines each form a triangle and 2 of the forwards quickly alternate passing 2 pucks back and forth to the other forward. They do this for a couple of minutes and then switch positions in the triangle.
When they really get serious about the drill it is pretty fun to watch.

In the Frozen Four,
The BC/BU winner plays the UND/HC winner.
The Mich.St./Maine winner plays the Wisco/(Cornell/CC) winner
-
Maine wins 6-1.
-
INCH: With so many WCHA players going from high school to the USHL and then to college, you and Brian Lee are two notable exceptions.
-
-
I wonder if UND has looked at Matt Schepke.

I've heard he is looking for a scholarship offer from any big name school and supposedly Merrimack is after him hard.
He isn't naturally gifted, but is someone who works hard along the boards and scores goals by crashing the net.

I am almost completely certain that it would be Prosser then because it is a Stampede jersey.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The player is Prosser. The picture was taken at last Friday's (Oct. 7) game in Lincoln against Sioux Falls.
FYI, if you look in the in the top-left corner of the picture, you can see my 2-year old son peeking his head over the boards.

Tomorrow there will be a meeting in Bismark
Why are you going to Rochester, MN for a meeting?

Thanks Brasco!
So to update:
Green Jersey
Black stripe with white stripes on both sides on bottom of jersey and elbows
White and black stripes on collar
Numbers - White on Black
Name - White on Green Nameplate (86/87) - ?? (87/88)
Does anyone know if the name on the 87/88 green jersey was different than the 86/87 green jersey like the white jersey is?
-
Does anyone have any front and back pictures of the green jerseys that the Sioux team wore in 86/87 and 87/88?
I'm in the process of getting a green jersey built and customized by Koronis, but can't find out for sure what the name/nameplate is supposed to look like.
Here's what I think the jerseys look like:
White Jersey
Green stripe with black stripes on both sides on bottom of jersey and elbows
Green, white and black stripes on collar
Numbers - Green on Black
Name - Green on White Nameplate (86/87) - Green on Black no Nameplate (87/88)
Green Jersey
Black stripe with white stripes on both sides on bottom of jersey and elbows
White and black stripes on collar
Numbers - White on Black
Name - (86/87) - (87/88)
If anyone knows for sure what these jerseys look like and can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

Anybody have anything new or any rumors on Dowzak? I am hoping we can get him signed pretty soon.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
He is listed on Lincoln's protected list as of July 1:

I got the DVD's, very well done.
Thanks, again.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You're very welcome.
Most of the time I don't feel like I add much to this board, except for maybe an occasional scouting report on a possible Sioux recruit playing in Lincoln. So at least this was a chance for me to contribute a little bit.
-
I just finished editting the games and have begun dubbing them onto DVD's now.
I should have a few sets done by Monday.
-
I recorded all three Frozen Four games onto my DVD recorder. I haven't had time to edit them yet, but am planning on doing that this weekend. If anyone is interested in copies of the games, just e-mail me.

No, I saw that as well. Butterball was a good half-step offsides on the right-wing side.
