  1. Re-read what you wrote - "these kids are" not probably are, not might be, "these kids are". And the Canucks made it clear that there was no contract violation very quickly.

But hey, you can't be bothered to read, you are too busy posting about something you are ignorant of that no one apparently is supposed to read and react to.

  2. It was on the front page on CNN.com this morning, but yes a sad story. What surprises me is that these kids are violating their contracts. I know that there are clauses that say no motorcycles, no skydiving, no bungee jumping, etc. but yet kids still do it. Organizations need to come up with stricter consequences for actions like this. I remember the contract issues that came up after Jay Williams did it while playing for the Chicago Bulls.

I don't want to sound cold, it is an extremely sad story, and my deepest sympathies go out to his family and the Canucks organization.

He did not violate his contract and his agent never discussed it with him. So maybe try reading some of the articles before making such a claim.

  3. The Sioux could really run the score up in this one as BC will likely have their Freshman in nets.

Seeing as the number 1 goalie and the number 2 goalie are both freshmen, that's not a bad thing for BC. If the sophomore who played on the club team last year was in net, I'd worry.

  4. If someone learns when the BC game tickets will be sold at UND, please post that here. I, too, heard through another BC fan that you're better off buying through UND. I have a group of 4 and know I'll need some heads-up.

    Many thanks!

Not sure what kind of work you are in, but since you are Boston-based you may want to see if you know a Flynn Fund donor. If I couldn't find a single available from a fellow fan, that's what I did as I know several between our Boston office and BC alum here in NY. Pike's Peak (hockey donors) membership doesn't help afaik (I am one), just the general athletic fund.

  5. I've usually stayed at the Terrace Inn (Best Western) , which is down Comm Ave from BC and near a stop on the T. It'd be a decent walk (with a hill) plus Conte is on the other side of the campus. Here's the BC guide - the Holiday Inn is pretty close, iirc, and on the Conte side of the campus (not that that is much of a walk).

Tickets are a PITA! BC's ticket policy is part of what made me start shooting "legitimately" rather than just as a fan as I didn't like the thought of making the trek from NYC w/o a guaranteed ticket. They have started selling tickets to some games online (apparently w/ a hefty fee), but I doubt your game would be included. Buy from UND. Your seats will definitely be on the UND bench side as parents are usually hanging around my area (BC has the benches on opposite sides of the ice).

  6. board never froze, it was updated once a day and the a 2 hour blind bidding war at the end, 2,000 is a hell of a lot of dough for a jersey and duncs deserved to go the highest, its his frozen 4 hobey baker winning jersey

By "board froze", I meant the auction current bid listing for the final two hours. I thought someone would have bid more on the Toews sweater in the final two hours.

  7. Clearly I didn't read the rules well enough - didn't realize they went with your top bid as opposed to doing it like ebay. Really didn't expect to win all three pairs. Yikes. Surprised the Toews didn't go up at all after the board froze.

  8. From what I can tell, Grieco has a neck protector while Walski does not appear to. (at least in the picture that I have) If you wanted, I could email you the pictures that I have and you can compare them to your pictures...

They both wear all green? (It's graduated, not solid). Are their pad designs the same as well? I just wanted to cut down on the unidentifieds and not give y'all an easy mistake (since I always seem to have atleast one error on any UND gallery) to point out :-).

  9. Wow is all I can say about Toews after spending the playoff week in Sweden. I knew he was a good player, but not as good as I saw there, but more importantly - what a great kid. His public personality is amazing, both the more public interactions that I witnessed with his teammates, interactions with the press and especially with the fans.

FYI, I finished putting up the pictorials from games/practices that the US and Canadian teams participated in. The list can be found here. As time permits I be adding the full takes of everything I shot (well other than the @#$%& files I accidentally deleted from the US/Canada game) to my personal site.

  10. Doesn't necessarily mean anything, but Zajac was part of the public Devils' practice before their AHL game tonight (fundraiser).

Parise did well playing the first half of the AHL game giving up one (Naumenko only gave up the winning shootout goal).

  11. So if Hale doesn't have a signed contract what is he doing playing in the Devils line up? Can anyone explain this. You would think if he ever got hurt the devils would be liable would they?

Players buy their own insurance. As Clem put it in an interview, he expects the cost of the insurance to be taken into account when they make their contract offer.

  12. I was wondering about him and David Hale, personally.

Hale is in camp unsigned. The Devils have cap issues. Brian Gionta, David Hale, Paul Martin and Scott Clemmensen are all unsigned (Eric Rasmussen might also belong in that list and maybe one other - the first 4 are the ones I care about) due to cap issues. They do still have a lot of D, but hopefully those 4 will be signed. I should get some pictures up from Friday's practices tonight or tomorrow night.

Jordan Parise was part of both group 2 and group 3 as there are 5 goaltenders in camp. Groups 1 and 2 are a mix of Devils and babies while group 3 is guys headed for Lowell at best. I think he should make the Lowell squad with Naumenko going down to the E. He hasn't gotten a new mask yet, but at least he isn't clinging to past glory like Naumenko still using a Ducks mask. I don't mean to be mean, but that cup of coffee with Anaheim was in 2000-01 and he hasn't played for Cincinnati since 02-03.

  13. If it was a serious knee injury he wouldn't have gone to the camp. The available press stated that he was riding the stationary bike while he was there, just not playing so I buy the line that he had only tweaked it.

He went to camp to show the coaches that he was serious about it, but he was injured when he went and wasn't going to go on the ice. My impression (I didn't take notes) was that he was there for a few days during the camp portion and then was sent home. I'm 99% sure he was gone before I got up there on Wednesday of the second week.
