Red River came out flat in both the first and third periods and looked as if they were going to lose midway through the third. Minot scored the first goal of the game on a shot from the point where the RR goalie was not in the net. RR had a 4-1 lead after the second and gave up 3 goals in a matter of 9 minutes to start the third. The game could have gone either way. Another factor to think about is that RR scored its 4 goals on Minot's backup goalie. This may have been a different game if they would have started David Bown. Brandon Tollefson must feel ashamed of the penalty that he took with 16 seconds left for unsportsmanlike conduct after he shot the puck at RR's goalie clearly after the whistle (as stated in my previous post). I thought that RR could have played a lot better and they were fortunate to come out of this one with a win. Overall this was a great high school hockey game. Also even though this is off topic may I add that Minot's JV team looked to me as one of the cheapest teams I've seen this year. After the JV game some of the Minot JV player's wanted to start a fight with some of the RR JV players. I thought I would add this just to tell everyone that RR is not perceived as a cheap or sorelosing team.

The call for unsportsmanlike was not a weak call. The kid clearly shot the puck after the whistle was blown on an offsides call. Obviously the Minot announcers are going to say that it was a bad call.

If you found this information on Guilen's site, which I am assuming, it is not up to date. Many game sheets are still missing from point-racking games.

Not the best idea soohockey to release the type of injury a player has. It's not a good idea to discuss them as said by X2theZ.

All I was talking about is when there was a big fight between Fargo hockey and Grand Forks hockey. I just don't want another big off topic fight to start on this thread.

From what I have heard he was hurt this week in practice. I don't know how long he is going to be out for though.

Hey I don't think we need to be ripping on other people now like we have done in the past when Dave K ran his mouth on this website. Warrior you don't need to say that you don't like ND Pride because he's a dad of a player. Who really cares. He has never talked highly of North or anyone on their team. Did his kid do something to you or your kid? You don't need to make this a hate website.

Spivey is obsessed with being a ref and makes some of the dumbest calls. GF refs are not that good for the home team that is playing or the away team. Many teams that come to play in GF think that they are being homered but most of the time its the other way around. Tonight I heard Brown was kicked out after saying something to a player and then said something to the ref. I also heard on how two RR players were speared and same with a Jamestown player and none of them were called.

I agree with you 100%. I thought that RR scored on their chances for the most part and Central couldn't get anything going at all. I thought Central's second goal and the third goal were just simply bad bounces. On the second goal a RR player was trying to carry the puck out and he lost it in the water that wasn't frozen yet on the rink. Purpur Arena needs to fix that problem with the water not freezing. The third goal was another bad bounce as it deflected off of a RR defender in front of the net after Rosendahl made the initial save. I thought some of RR's goals could have been stopped by most goalies. After Central pulled their starting goalie their backup Josh Ness let in the first three shots he faced. This game could have been much closer if their would have been some better goaltending and not so many bad bounces.

The game starts at 7:30. RR I think will blow out Central since the knights are probably going to be without goalie Calvin Shane. Also forward Alex Simonsin suffered a concussion against EGF and I don't know if he will play in the game.

This argument has been brought up before in the past and most people agreed that Harrie should have never been given a penalty shot. Also if you have the tape you might want to take a look at the play again. May I also add that one of Shanley's goals didn't even go in the net. The puck hit the crossbar and fell straight down and the reffed signaled it a goal after the net had been lifted off of its pegs. The ref was in a bad position to make the call and you could see the puck from the stands in the crease.

May I add that Mihulka also pulled off the stop-o-razi on Nate Ziggelman (currently backup goaltender at Minn-Duluth) during the legends game that RR held over Christmas break.

That is true. I am pretty sure RR had more than 13 people there. Not a lot of people like to show up on weekend games since there is a lot usually going on in GF on the weekends. There are sports conflicts too a lot especially in January when most games are being played. I observed on Saturday that the RR student section had many people actually. Many of them were wearing a t-shirt that said Dainty on it and had a picture of Grafton's Tom Cambell's Christmas picture on it. I personally found this funny. Just another act by the RR student section.
-
May I add that Grafton only had about 5 shots that were shot from the outside of the tops of the circles in the first period. Grafton did dominate the first half of the first. There wasn't really that much offense. RR capitalized on its first PP of the game and ended up scoring 3 of their 4 goals on the PP. RR won the game 4-1. Grafton's lone goal came off of a bunch of redirections in the front of the net that RR's goalie Eli Rosendahl had no chance to save.

Fargo hockey hasn't proved anything as shown by state titles which is the only thing that matters. If you watched the RR/FS game it could have gone either way. I have also heard that Fargo is creating a new high school which would decline the numbers of FS. Another thing to think about is I hope FS is getting better now since there school district has almost the same population as GF. Another thing to look at is the other previous post on how FS has a student population about equal to GFC and RR combined.

If you would have seen the awards last year for the ND State Tournament Red River won the spirit award. They didn't announce it on the intercom because a rumor was spread that cancelled RR from winning the award. I don't want to state this rumor on this page because it will create a big hassel and another argument.
-
I'm pretty sure that the athletic director selects the schedules for the teams in GF. The coaches have no voice in who they play.
-
Not trying to get too off track here but I'm sure UND would have won if they had Jonathon Toews, T.J. Oshie, Taylor Chorney, and Brian Lee back.

Great post MNHockey9, you didn't have to tell us what your prediction is.

Last i checked the ND team lost in overtime in the Elite league championship game
-
Where did you hear that FS and Moorhead tied 4-4.

We don't care about MN hockey. I believe this is a ND High school hockey board. If you would please stop making yourself look like an idiot. Thank You for your time on this website.

Good Point! Minnesota has how many people in their state compared to North Dakota. I'm also pretty sure that they have a city that is fairly big called Minneapolis. There is more competition down in the cities because of the AA teams that have a population of like 50,000. That's ridiculous how some cities have like a 50,000 people and they have one team. I would like to see an all Grand Forks team and an all Fargo team play Minnesota hockey. In the past years they wouldn't even have any competition if both of these cities had one team. I also like how the two North Dakota Elite teams finished second in both the Elite 1 and 2 leagues. This show that North Dakota hockey can compete with Minnesota's hockey.

Another great move was pulled off by none other than Ryan Potulny as he went down during the shootout bounced the puck off the inside of his skate than did a back handed toedrag with just the toe of his stick and then scored. Red River goalie Eli Rosendahl was slid over out of the crease from the move and had no chance to save it. I was impressed with Mihulka's move. He pulled it off against West Fargo I heard, but to pull it off on a D-1 goalie is impressive!
