Jake Brown?? Whos that?? Does he play varsity??

Those are good picks as of right now. Devils lake and Shanley have had some wins over some decent teams but i dont think Century is going to do much more. The teams that they have beaten weren't very good and the east team that they beat was Jamestown, who as of right now is 8th place in the East. I just don't see Centruy beating any respectable team this year. But thats just my opinion.

How is 5-3 even possible after beating Central?
-
Acuatlly you should get your facts right, he got the unsportmanlike because he pulled a Danny Irmen and grabbed his "B" on his jearsy to the North fans, he didnt attempt to high five the North players, plus its a rivalry, the teams hate each other along with the fans. No one deserves to loose 26-0 but when the best team in the state playes the worst thats what could happen. The top two lines only played one or two shifts in the third, and my point earlier was that they only got 4 goals out of the 26, so its not like they made a huge impact. And do you really think that any other team in the state would try to make 20 even 10 passes before scoring... I dont think so. I have never seen a Red River or a Central or a North ever stop trying to score in my life. And i dont see why everyone is ripping on South to stop scoring when North kept pouring it on in the third and didnt look like they were trying to stop or make 20 passes either. Im sure that they wouldve kept scoring if they wouldve had more time. Any team would do the same, im not trying to start anything against North, im just using them as an example and trying to show that South shouldnt get all this crap for somthing that will continure to happen. Especially with Grafton and RR. All of these teams have class its just that they're so good and when they play a team like Whapeton its inevitable.

Ok first of all I guarentee that if South played Holy Angles it wouldn't be anywhere close to 26-0. That game wasnt a disgrace to the game of hockey, sometimes thats just how things go. Ya the score was ran up high but what did the players of Whapeton do in the offseason to prevent that...most likely nothing, when was the last time you saw a Whapeton player on a select team or summer team? I was at the game, and the score couldve been a lot worse but the players did try to keep it down a little, in those situations its tough to play hockey for ten or so years and not be able to shoot on net. And when is scoring on someone when your up 4-0 uncalled for??? its hockey!!

I probably would not have played the first line in the 3rd period, but you can't tell the 3rd and 4th lines not to play the game! They're fighting for playing time and don't see the ice much. It would be really unfair to them. Also, look closely at the scoring from the game. The first line had 4 goals, the second line had 6 goals, the third line had 5, the fourth line had 3, and the defense accounted for 7. The first line only had 1 goal in the second period and 1 in the third. It wasn't so much that they were running up the score, it's the fact that the talent level between the 2 teams is so different. South's 4th line is better than Whapeton's first.

Ok south is better than Red River this year, the ratings show it, and the South-RR game showed it. Red River will not score more than 26 goals on Whapeton
-
Ya i know but they have to and i dont think this will be the only game like that one was this year, they still have to play Grafton and Red River which i think could get close to 20 on them.
-
Ya i was there. And actually a couple of the shots i thinks missed the net but they counted them anyway so i think they just got one true shot which was on a breakaway on the first shift of the game! It was a fluke play and the puck just squrited out to a Whapeton player that got behind the defensemen. And ya most of it looked like a 5 on 3.
-
Whapeton put a forward in goalie in the third peroid. I dont know if it was because of injury or just to salvage any goals against average.
-
Shots were 75-3.
-
um he had 2 goals and i think 3 or 4 assists
-
They beat Whapeton 26-0. I know its hard to believe, brings back memories of the Moorhead-Monticello last year
-
South won 26-0.
-
What i was meaning by my post was i would take Souths top four defensemen over any other teams top four, not individually. Sorry for the confusion
-
I totally agree with that. From what i heard most of the shots that South took there was a rebound and a good scoring chance with it. The South players just werent in the right spot at the right time.
-
I agree but i dont think south will make the same mistakes again. And i believe that no one can score more than three goals on south this year because of their defensemen and goalie. I would take souths top four defenseman over any other teams in the state. They are solid, can handle the puck, and score. Thats going to be the deciding factor in that game.

I was at the north south game last night and let me tell you even though north isnt very good, south destroyed them. South had to kill nine penalties and north still only had thirteen total shots in the WHOLE game. I think South is the team to beat right now. You might say that south is isnt disciplined because of the eleven penalties ( two of them coincidentals) but i gotta say that some of the calls were questionable.
