  1. Sorry I'm late replying to Bison Mav, but I can't let that slap at the Iowa State Cyclones go. If you really think they are playing some sort of inferior role to Iowa you better think again. They have beat the inferior Iowa hawks 6 of the last 8 in football, and are the CY-hawk all sports champions.

  2. It's my understanding that they are simply waiting for one contract to be returned signed on the women's side before they release the schedule. I understand they will be starting out, like last year at the Disney thing so they should see some good teams right off the bat, as they did last year. I hear there maybe another out of the region trip to Seatle, I have no idea if those teams are any good.

  3. I am betting that the NC$$ will back down before it actually goes to c ourt, they have no leg to stand on. Sounds like some b ig money for UND to me.

Myles is an idiot and now may be history as he cost them big $.

  4. Am I crazy or does it seem as if alot of the bison all of a sudden seem to have this strong oppinon that a move to D1 would be a horrible mistake and are sure about it for UND.

Just a thought maybe they loke not getting beat by UND, and now have an excuse, if the move to D1 was done then there would be no reason not to play.

  5. I can't imagine that the athletic director would make such a statement without the decision pretty much being made. Sounds like it's a done deal to me.

By the way how did the deadline get moved to July 1, I am sure someone has said on another thread I must have missed it.

  6. My big hope is that with the new contract they can make sure that there is some sort of upgrade to the internet broadcast's. It was very disturbing trying to listen many times this winter only to have it fade out, or be completely not on, and have to go to the opponents site and pick up their broadcast that is horrible.

  7. I'm telling you if, Brian Jones is the best that we can do things will not go forward, why do you think he was moved on Alford's staff to director of operations.

There has to be more to the story than we all know or the list of interviews would be different. To me this list looks like a sure thing that we will be staying D2 for some time, if the transition was to begin the list would be different, that's my guess.

The former eastern illinois ast doesn't fit and seems very fishy.

  8. UNI plays Drake the week before the they play UND, Drake is one of those strange D1 non scholarship football programs so they won't be much of a measuring stick, and UND should provide a much better challenge to UNI. What a diverse schedule UNI has a non scholarship progam, a DII school, and a BCS school in Iowa State on their schedule.

This sounds much like what I would expect if UND make the move to DI.

  9. Walrus, it appears that they did check with Coach about this game, and don't be so negative, you never know IAA has a site "Any given Saturday" this could be the case. Let's be positive football is such a game that any given saturday anything can happen let's hope it happens for the Sioux on this given Saturday.

  10. Can someone explain to me exactly what the exploritory year is and what all it entails, does this mean there is a commitment to go DI, or does it still leave options open?

Would we still compete in D2? If this is the decision for this comming year does it count on the 5 year transiton, even though schedules I'm sure are done and would be virtually a D2 schedule.

When and if we go D1 will it be an issue with the nickname, and scheduling, for example I know the liberal U of I would not schedule the Sioux. I think there are alot more of these liberal wacko U's at the d1 level.

  11. The classification thing can't really be that close to being done and either way the Glas decision needs to be made so that the program can move forward instead of just treading water.

For a young upwardly striving coach D2 or a DI going through transition I think would be very similar in who would be interested in the job.

  12. Bottom line is Glas needs to make a decision, it is to not doing anyone any good for him to leave this situation hanging out there. He needs to make a choice NOW.

In my opinion no way do you hire from within, I agree with the assesment that there would be such a short time line for success from within that it wouldn't be good for anyone.

Let's go find the best young up and commer they are out there and with the facilities and fan support this is and or could be a great job to spring board someones future.

  13. Many have said that DII is getting watered down by the move up of many NAIA or D3 schools, I think this list of schools that have made the move to DI shows that the same thing is happening there, these school for the most part have no place in DI and will never compete for any real titles.
