  1. I had the worst time trying to register (attempting four or five times) but eventually got it. Wish I could offer more help...

finally.... now if I went through all this hassle an the Sioux play like crap, I will not be happy

  2. I had the exact same problem when I wanted to get on it several weeks ago.

After I registered I had to close out my internet explorer and get back on... which it then worked.

    Hope that helps...

Nothing... keeps telling me I can't watch video with this account and its the audio broadcast I am trying...

  3. has anyone been able to actually listen to a game on this new "JUMPTV" that UND has gone to this year?:whistling:

I have registered again, and it still will not let my login. Even using the email password it sends me, it tells me that "this login can not watch video, login in again". All I want to do is listen to the free audio broadcast

  4. Hey USA-

What more do I want? Some who represents this university and community with some class. Can you imagine Don Lucia doing that? Never would happen!!

How about Doug Woog? Maybe and I would love to see the outcry if he did on this board.

Apology can be excepted, but at some point you need to be responsible for you actions.

While I don't condone what Haks did.

You really need to take off the rose colored glasses, I can't count the times I have watched FSN and heard Lucia say "bull$hit" or drop the f-bomb on TV. Woog's even been caught saying it when he has been doing the commentary. Woog even admitted it on TV that he was suspended for something he said.

Every coach and player on the ice has been guilt of that, so enough.

What's classless is you deny that Lucia or Woog are "above that".

  5. What about "Warriors", using a Norse Warrior as the logo/image? Fits with the "Force of the North" slogan that has been spreading around.

    EDIT:

This would also have a duel meaning in that back the the Airbase had bombers, I remember some AF personnel wearing jackets that said "Force of the North" with pictures with Vikings and bombers superimposed onto one another. I also believe there was a squadron named the Warriors.

In a time when our military is doing so much for us, it maybe fitting to honor them for the past, present, and future. Just a thought

  6. I agree with you, there is no loyalty anymore. There is no reason to flame at all because you are 100% correct. 99% of the players seem to bolt at the first chance they get. It is just frustrating as a Sioux fan when we look to have a dominant team for the next year and 4 or 5 guys leave with a couple of them leaving somewhat unexpetedly. All of a sudden you have a bunch of holes left in your roster with your top players moving on. It's gotta be tough on the coaches.

You guys have this dead on.. It has nothing to do with that they don't have loyality to the program, but they have a larger loyality to themselves and the rest of their lives.

    Look at it like this....

You finish your soph. year having another solid season (most of these guys have played a year or two of juniors also so they aren't your normal sophs either), you are drafted and the team offers you the league min of $250-$350 a year (normally for 3 years) plus a small signing bonus.

Now, you have to decide if you stay. You probably have 200+ practices and 40+ games the next season. Any of them could cause a career ending injury, which means you don't get any money and the golden ticket is gone for good, and even if you do come back, you now have a big question mark over your head that every team is going to think about during their contracts talks with you.

So do you gamble and stick around to see if you can get your name on a trophy or do you take the money, which will help you make life alot easier, and try and get your name on a REAL trophy.

Its not a real difficult choice, there are far too many opportunites to get injuried to not take the money.

And as for flaming someone for stating a little inside info...

    "Lighting up Francis"

It's called inside info for a reason. If it had a "link" it wouldn't be inside info. So just read it and chill, just because you didn't hear about it first doesn't mean it false. Unless the poster has a record of making BS rumor posts, there is a good chance of what they are saying is going to happen, will actually happen.

[stepping off soap box :D ]

  7. For what it is worth, I have also heard that it is possible that Spirko may not be back. Because of the whole fiancee thing (there are other considerations also, but this is the BIG one ;) ). This comes from people I know within the hockey program, normally I don't post on issues such as this because of those "insiders". But this is different because things have gotten out of hand.

If he goes back to Europe to be close to her, he has my support and best wishes for him and the mrs.

But I will still be depressed as hell. ;)

I truely believe we won't know for certain until next season, when he/they decide what is best for their relationship and his career.

Hopefully if he doesn't come back, people won't be comparing Spirko's fiancee to Yoko Ono. :D

  8. But that's the problem. We aren't "history", we are here in the living presence. We are still defending who we are, we are still Sioux. I am so tired of hearing about the Vikings. Are you a Viking? Have you spent the last 2 years on a boat, burning and pillaging villages? No. I don't know of one Viking, anywhere. I don't know of anyone who wears the Viking horn hat anymore. But we, the Sioux, still practice our culture, the way it was don't 1000's of year before, we still sing the songs our ancestors did. And we are still fighters. I, like many of my Sioux relatives, have picked up a weapon, loaded munitions onto aircraft, or gave the ultimate sacrifice for this county. Yes, countless others have also, but I'm just saying that Fighting Sioux People still live today. Show me a true Viking. Show me a true Leprechaun. Then we we can discuss this in greater detail.

As you are always bashing people about their knowledge of the "true" Sioux, such as yourself, it is amazing how lacking you are about the culture we talk about. You stupidity is overwhelming...

So here are a couple of culture diversity lessons for you.

    1) Very few Vikings were raiding tribes or villages, and yes, they were referred to tribes. Most were traders. They traded items all over Europe, Africa and Asia. They traded a great deal with Orient. Most of the long distant traveling was done on land in caravans, not by boat.

    2) Vikings never had helmets with horns.

    3) Viking settlements still exist today, but are not known as "Viking settlement" due to the fact that their culture has evolved with time. The city of Kiev, along with many of the larger cities in that region were original Viking/Scandinavian trading settlements. Do they still do cultural things as their ancestors did. Yes they do. Do they claim to be Vikings; no they claim to be Ukrainian now.

Why, do they claim to be Ukrainian now? Why did my grandfather and his grandfather before him claim to be Canadian, rather then Viking? The same reason you claim to be Sioux, instead of Asian or European, were your true ancestors came from.

The one thing you seem to not understand, GK, is cultures evolve. You may ride horse, or sleep in a teepee, or serve in the armed forces (which as much as I despise you for your other traits, I truly thank you for) but that doesn't make you a Sioux of olden days. You don't ONLY live in a teepee, you do not migrate with the Bison, you don't farm and hunt solely for your food. You have a house/apartment/condo, which is stationary, you go to the store to get most your food.

Culture is nice GK, but it is also the past. Even if you could, you would never go back to the way it was 500 years ago. Don't try and fool yourself.
