  1. That must have been a lot of fun having a big rivalry with an instate school. Here in New Jersey, Princeton beat up on us most years for almost 100 years and when we won for a decade, they refused to play us any longer.

  2. A big Fighting Sioux fan who has been in contact with me since I joined the site and became a North Dakota fan asked me to start a post about Jim Kleinsasser and watch the stores pour in. I probably have no idea what I am getting into

  3. If any of you are in Columbia during football season, the South Carolina Gamecocks have what they call "Cockybooses" alongside the stadium. They are renovated cabooses that people use for tailgating. Some of the people actually find their way into the stadium. :)

  4. I never even heard of OCU until a couple weeks ago when Ollie transferred. He hustled under the boards, but never improved as an overall player after his freshman year and hasn't seen many minutes recently. I wish him the best in OK City.

  5. Hey Sooners,

I have a kayak myself--Perception Acadia. I also hike along the ocean and in an area known as The Pinelands here in New Jersey. After years of thinking about it, I just bought a motorcycle and am up to 35MPH  That would be OK except everyone in our state drives 70MPH--through school zones!!!

    Enjoy the outdoors everyone.

    GO NORTH DAKOTA!

    GO RUTGERS!

  6. I was hoping someone out there could give a summary of the incoming players. I haven't been on the site much lately( my male modeling career is booming) so I may have missed a lot. Do you think anyone will be needed right away and be able to get a lot of playing time? Thanks for the info.

  7. I just noticed on another thread that one of North Dakota's biggest fans, YaneA, is having some health issues. She was the first person I knew from the state and if I told you all the nice things she has done for me, I would be here all day. GOD BLESS and get well soon.

  8. When Brian Leonard decided to stay for his senior year, we called him the most inportant "recruit" of the year. Congrats on your new Sioux "recruit"--thanks for staying TJ.

  9. I just wanted to give a public THANK YOU to a huge Sioux fan who sends me tapes of every Fighting Sioux game. She started doing this without me asking and never asks anything in return. Between her, siouxsports.com and the Grand Forks Herald, I almost feel like I live in North Dakota. She not only is a great representative of Fighting Sioux fans, she also works at the university. If she does some of the things she has done for me, I can only imagine what a terrific example she is for UND in her daily work with students, teachers, and staff at the college. She was the first person I ever knew from your state and I would think all of you who know her are the better for it.

    LET'S GO SIOUX!!!

  10. THANK YOU Fighting Sioux players and coaches for all of your hard work and another great season. As I have said before, when I started following the program a few years back I had no idea what a successful tradition North Dakota has had. Already looking forward to a terrific Autumn--Rutgers football and North Dakota hockey. Now if I start studying now, maybe I can figure out how to use the webcasts by Fall :silly:

  11. Thank you for your four years at North Dakota. While Sioux fans are used to players leaving early, we Rutgers fans are just starting to experience it. Lat year, we lost Quincy Douby to the NBA early and Brian Leonard turned down being a sure low first or high second round NFL pick to come back for his senior year. After the 2008 football season, we expect that Heisman Trophy candidate ray Rice will leave a year early. It is a big sacrifice to stay, but I think in the majority of cases it is worth it. Hope all the seniors have rewarding spiritual, family, and professional lives.

  12. Guys, what can I say--this is New Jersey. Mennen Arena is a rink paid for and run by tax dollars. My guess is he got his job because he is a brother-in-law to someone in county government. My biggest concern, though, is this three-rink complex is home to hundreds of little league hockey players, some as young as four. On the lighter side, if he ever did take this on the road, he and I would be the only people on the roads in New Jersey driving under 80 MPH. He would be driving a Zamboni at 9 MPH and I would be driving a motorcycle at 12 MPH

  13. Redwing,

Even the local sports stations have nothing to report yet about why he was fired. The one thing I do know is the owner REALLY wants a strong finish because the team is moving from Meadowlands in East Rutherford to the new Prudential Center (The Rock) in Newark next season. The multi-million dollar question is will people from the wealthy areas of northern New Jersey who are used to plenty of easy parking outside a small town follow the club when it moves to downtown Newark which, while improving, is one of the toughest cities in the country. In addition, the team and city say they may be able to come up with 4,000 parking spaces ( at $20 each) for an 18,000 seat arena. The owner needs a strong run in the playoffs.
