  1. Wisconsin lost 1-0 tonight vs. Denver. Denver's lone goal game in the second period when Paukovich recieved a pass right infront of then net and put it up top. Although Connelly didn't get tested very much tonight he played well and I'm sure that put some confidence in his players up front going into tomorrow nights game.

  2. This is a big loss for the Badgers. Elliott has been very solid between the pipes for them this year, I believe he is the #1 goalie in D1 hockey. With that being said these next few weeks for the badgers could be tough. This weekend vs. Denver then the next week vs. Minnesota. It would have helped the Sioux if they could have swept both weekends, being that Dever and Minnesota are tied for second in the WCHA behind the Badgers, but now that Elliott's out that may not happen.

  3. for all of you fargo fans, just wondering how many state championship banners all of the fargo teams put togethor have in the rafters. My guess is that either GF Central or Red River could beat them single handed. Because a fargo team has one good year they are all of the sudden considered a power house? You should think about what you type before you type it.

As we all can see this GF vs. Fargo conversation is going nowhere. Let's just drop it, or it will go on forever and no one will win. Even as a GF native I find this pointless.

  4. It's a little early to say who will be all state/ won't be all state, will be Mr. Hockey, won't be Mr. Hockey. For example, the most talented player in the state (Tyler Klein), hardly gets any recognition because of the fact that he plays for Fargo North, a struggeling (to say the least) team. Say what you want but if you put him on a Grafton or Fargo South and he would be leading the state in scoring no question. In my humble opinion the favorite to win Mr. Hockey has to be Paul Weisgarber. Not only because he is a model hockey player on the ice, but also off the ice. Paul has the skill, the grades, and the respect of every coach in the state.

On the Klenow winning Mr. Hockey, come on. I don't think its reasonable to believe he has a legitimate shot at winning Mr. Hockey. He's going to have a difficult time making all conference (Not that he doesn't deserve it but he's in the shadow of up and coming Jr. Tyler Klein, and with North low in the conference they will probably only get one All Conference pick which will go to Klein.) However, Coach Erickson may have a shot at the coach of the year honor depending on how his teams turns twords the second half of the season.

I disagree with you, a true player rises to the top no matter what line or what team he plays for.

  5. Yes, it should be interesting to see the two teams projected to be the top two in the state play. I hope I can get a clear cell phone connection to keep up with the action period by period. After watching Red River on Saturday night it should be interesting to see how they stack up against Grafton. Grafton will be in Fargo on Thursday. I'm thinking Red River and Grafton could be a fairly equal match up as the GF team has done a reasonable job of reloading. We will have to wait and see how they match up on the ice.

It'll be interesting to see if South can make it up to Grafton tomorrow with this weather that we are having....
