Extend him!
What are we thinking? 5 year 220k average with a team option year 2,3,4,5?

Back to the original topic... How would everyone feel if UND only wins 2 more games which includes one & done in the tournament? From talking to a lot of people close to hand.. my gut tells me they give him a 1 or 2 year extension. I say this because what I've heard consistently all year.

Omot 4 of 13
t 4 of 14
Mathew’s could put those numbers up
I’m fine with Omot going 4 of 13, not the easiest of shots plus a freshman. T not making an easy bunny around the hoop is a complete indictment on the coach not to mention the regression of Trent FT from JUCO to UND… puke

Sather might be the worst coach ever for UND! I’m sorry it’s time to move on or cancel the program if you are happy finishing in last. I get it’s a young team but my goodness, he has zero creativity or at least has diminished from when he started, players have regressed, and struggles to keep players. I’M DONE!

Glad Sather kept those timeouts at the end of the game. Might need them next game.

I'm agreeing with both of you that he should have used his magical timeouts to stop the other team. Timeouts always stop runs, because they are magic.
You’re a clown

Sather is a trash coach and just like his post game comments anyone with a basketball common sense can see that he needs to leave

Just bad luck. We'll get them next time
Bad luck?? SMH I guess blowing a halftime lead is bad luck… not to mention Norman making both free throws we are in overtime.. bad coaching

Get the extension paperwork ready!

One of the few games I thought rotations were good (second half) & players came to play. I understand why Sather puts Grant in but I don’t think he deserves to play at the D1 level.

These rotations are trash…

I’m looking to roll with something like this to start:
Trent or Brooks
Eaglestaff
BJ
Levias
T
Roll with Brooks as the 6th man and then smaller roles for Danielson, Norman and Mathews from there and you can maybe sprinkle in some Sueker if desperate.
I don't hate it but few tweeks i would make are the following:
Brooks - rotate to Trent
Eaglestaff - rotate to Norman
Bj - rotate between Levias & Sueker
Levias - rotate between Bj & Sueker
Mathews - rotate to T
I think to handle Kamateros a little differently put Mathews on him. Going to need Brooks / Trent to focus on Plitzuweit. Then Bj's length to give Bruns fits. Just my thoughts.

I do think the portal argument that Sather has been hurt by it needs to stop. If players truly enjoyed playing for him then they wouldn't necessarily leave, unless its a situation like Bruns (going back home), Scheierman (bettering his position), and Griesel (going home & bettering his position). Not to mention every single coach in the Summit League deals with it. Some of my biggest frustrations are the fact that he has not elevated his players. T looks like a complete shell of himself since the beginning of the year, Trent can't get the grades / discipline down to play, Norman looked like our best shooter and now doesn't play much? Sather's offense of game plan or X's / O's do not look great. We are half way through the year & he still hasn't figured out a rotation or a consistent starting lineup!! I don't blame the players for being frustrated or not being able to play on a high level when they don't know when or if they will play each game.

I played a full career of college basketball for a very successful program. I know what it takes to win.
You don't have to say the name of the college but just curious what level D1, D2, D3, NAIA?

My memory from when it was cut that women's hockey lost just over $2M per year.
I heard around the $3M per year range...

UND spends embarrassingly low amounts on basketball, improving amounts for football, and vast majority towards hockey, as we know.
UND tried to circumvent the minimal spending issue by hiring from local DII - didn’t work, obviously, at least this time around.
I've heard from sources that UND lost a TON of money having the women's hockey program which they are still trying to recover from. From the sounds of it might be out of the massive hole in a few more years which I would imagine trickling down to help spending on other programs i.e football and basketball.

You have one legitimate candidate in Kyan Brown. What a ludicrous list.
Its a WISH LIST!! You want a more realistic list? Kyan Brown, Boschee, and Gameli Ahelegbe

What are people’s thoughts on Steven Aldridge? From watching him interact with players before the game and during the game it seems like they really respect him and will listen to him. He was listed 11th on an ESPN “40 under 40” list of top coaches under 40. Young guy and seems like he really knows basketball.
If you are referencing the Bio on the UND website, the "40 under 40" is Shantay Legans not Steven Aldridge...
My wish list would be the following: Kevin Kruger, Joe Krabbenhoft, Kyan Brown, and Billy Brown (nostalgia)

The rotation has been a lot better. The scouting has been a lot better. The record bothers me a lot but if this team shows up to every game from here on out I don’t see us finishing last in the conference.
