  1. I really hope Omot can take that lead scoring role over full steam very soon! I wonder what is holding him back from doing that? He is very capable of doing it. You can see other guys on the court look to try and get him the ball late game and late shot clock situations. Just needs to take it and believe that he can be that lead scorer.
  2. Brooks can shoot catch and shoot!! Keep doing that! Huge shot by the young man!!
  3. He was fouled on the jumper as well. Tough shot!!
  4. Seems to be his style. Old school style. I hope Eaglestaff gets more run in the second half as well! He can score the ball!!
  5. No, it’s pretty flat. It’s all in his head now
  6. Couldn’t agree more. One of two legit scorers on the team and take him out as soon as he makes two in a row…
  7. Yes. Starting five. Then 1. Brooks 2. Mathews 3. Treysen 4. Danielson a few minutes a game. I feel like you have to get Danielson in there a few minutes a game as he will usually make some positive hustle play for you.
  8. I like Norman in the starting lineup to have a shooter at the SG position next to Trent. See if he can hit a three or two to start off the game. But give Brooks a boat load of minutes off the bench. Looking forward to seeing this matchup today!
  9. I'm glad you have a friendship with the staff! You have your opinions on the coach and the "facts". I have my opinions on the coach and the "stories". I'm glad we got that cleared up. Have a great rest of your day! #LetsKeepRebuilding
  10. So what makes your "facts" so factual? You seem to act like you're so tapped in to what Sather does that I'm starting to question if you are his wife or something. If so, you probably shouldn't be on this forum. And that's fine, you don't have to believe me or what I have heard from players. We will keep seeing what Sather does for this program and we'll see how much longer he lasts. I can tell you all these 'rebuilding' years will begin to catch up to him. The fans are sick of it. We want to see this team improve and start being competitive again. I'm sure another D2 school would take him though.
  11. Two questions: 1. Do you watch the games??? Other than just last nights 2. Who is going to play point guard then??
  12. Gosh you could go really deep into on how the coaching profession is changing and what is actually effective in coaching young adults. The screaming and yelling in players faces is old fashioned and has been proven to not be effective. Running players 'until they puke' is old fashioned and doesn't work. You can hold players accountable without belittling them and going on your "power trip". It is all about relationships and treating players with 'respect' I guess you could say. I would HIGHLY recommend listening to the JJ Reddick podcast where he has Tyron Lue on to talk about coaching. He is one of the top coaches in all of basketball and he gives great advice and insight on what works in today's basketball world. He really emphasizes that it is all about relationships, being honest with players all the time, and building up that trust with the players. He has a really good quote in there too where he says he never tells a player to change how they play the game of basketball. He tells them to play the game how they think allows them to play at their best and then it is up to him as a coach to figure out how to fit them into his system and put them in the right places to be successful. It is a really good podcast. Worth the listen for sure. I don't see that happening from Sather. He doesn't allow guys to play free and figure out how to use their talents/skills effectively by putting them in the right spots. And to go off the stories, I have heard a lot that he still does the screaming and yelling at players. He does the running them excessively. (Just stating what I have heard from a few of his former players). Old fashioned ways that don't help players be better at basketball. Like I said, there is a lot more to it than I am able to portray in this forum. Listen to that podcast and it will be a great insight into what a great basketball coach does.
  13. Trent had 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists last night and everyone is calling for his head because he missed some free throws. TT was 1-4 on the night. Why isn't everyone calling for his head?? Make it make sense. We finally had a game where Trent and Brooks both played how everyone knows they are capable of and showed that they can be two of our best guards. Levias, TT, Nero, Grant, Matthews, and Eaglestaff all gave us absolutely nothing last night. Why is nobody talking about that? But making someone run until they puke for missing four free throws will solve all of the issues! Glad we got that figured out.
  14. Does Sather really know what he is doing?? You always say this and "have his back" but it always seems to show that he does not know what he is doing. And what 'chances' does Trent even need? He is a captain of the team. I would think he is a captain for a reason. Maybe Sather needs to evaluate how he coaches and should allow him to play free and not pull him every single time he makes a mistake. You know, maybe let the starting PG and captain play free and have the ability to make a mistake without the fear of being taken out and sit on the bench for the next 12 minutes of the game just to watch Caleb Nero over dribble every single possession. Just a thought though! I have heard stories and complaints from former players that Sather is in fact stuck in the old fashioned way of coaching. He needs to get with the times and start treating this like a D1 program or else it is going to continue to be a 'rebuilding year' for the rest of his contract. It's just the reality. Either get with the times or get left behind. It's not always just the players that need to look in the mirror when things aren't going great. The coach needs to as well.
  15. You didn’t answer the question though. How does running sprints until you puke help a player be better at free throws?? That’s such an old way of coaching that has been proven to not be the most effective way of coaching.
  16. We are a third of the way through the season. It’s pretty fair to make some assessments at this point. It’s not the end all be all but some assessments can be made
  17. I think we can all agree that the weekend against Utah Tech and CS Fullerton was an anomaly and we over reacted a bit to it
  18. This isn’t the 1960’s. That doesn’t work
