BSU Coach on Oshie's play yesterday, "He was a stud! It's great when you see your best players as your hardest workers."
-
TH with the BSU coach: "Do you have to back off on your aggressiveness." BSU Coach: "We probably should, but we're not going to."

Hakstol's pre-game comments: Specialty teams were a big factor yesterday, but we worked hard to draw a lot of those PP, so we need to do that again. It has a lot to do with the intensity we come out of the locker room with. We came out of the locker room, scoring the 4th goal at the end of the 2nd. That was a huge goal, but it probably took a little of the edge off, and with the level that BSU plays, it's a lesson learned that you can't drop the intensity against this team. I know our guys will want to play hard for Walski. Hopefully we can take that want to do that, to good execution and play well in front of him. Aaron will be fine. He'll make the saves he needs to, but it helps when the guys play harder in front of him. We need to take care of the puck, advance the puck, and negate their speed on transition. There's nothing like game action, so the first 10 minutes will be important to Aaron. To get that speed of the game back, and everything that comes with it. Marto and LaPoint have played well thus far together, and they'll be together again tonight. LaPoint's had to work out of a funk, but hopefully, they'll play well again tonight. Need Davidson to play well. We're not giving him a freebie, we need him to play well. We think our line-up can get better from yesterday. We've been harping on Martens for 2 1/2 years, telling him he's had to show consistency, and quite frankly, he's done that over the past 5 weeks. We want to get a look at him with Trupp and Frattin. On the national scene, who knows how important it will turn out to be, but we're approaching it as a very important game on the national scene. Bottom line, we want to end the weekend on a good note, and keep things going.

I missed the name, as my buddy was talking at that moment. I heard everything but the name, but it didn't sound very reassuring with his tone of voice.

Hakstol post-game comments: PP was as sharp as it's been. Ran though every option we had. Could have had more. Their guy between the pipes did a very good job. That being said, we got enough to win. We got the 4 PP goals. I think in the first 2 periods alone, Chorney had 8 shots alone. I don't know if they were all on the PP, but it helps. They were aggressive on the PK, but I think they had to back off a little. You start questioning yourself a little bit when we're scoring on the PP that much. Things got a little sloppy in the 3rd period. Maybe that's understandable a little bit, with the intensity. The intensity of going after the puck was still there. Have to build off the positives. The PP, the first two periods, and not everything in the third period was bad. Watkins got all of his shot. He works on it, and he got all of it on his goal. I'm sure they'll address staying out of the box for tomorrow night. They had their fair share of PP chances. I thought the officiating was real good tonight. I would think we'll see a little more 5 on 5 tomorrow. It's all about tomorrow afternoon now. What's done is done, and we have to look forward to tomorrow.

Hakstol gets win #98 tonight.

Nice win for the Sioux! Need to come out tomorrow and take care of business to get the sweep. The PP in the 1st definitely helped, and appeared to take BSU out of it mentally, early on. 12 game unbeaten streak for the boys!!!!
