  1. Would have to agree they have about 3-4 real pieces of work online who are a real embarrassment to the rest of their fans. Some real solid keyboard warriors..... For the most part I always loved Duluth fans, until I discovered "those people". Really changed my opinion unfortunately.

Wow, you and I are on the same page with this one.  I grew up cheering for the Dogs (as long as they weren't playing UND), back in the days when Mike Sertich was their coach.  Now, there are about 4 on Twitter that I can't help running across when reading Schlossman's tweets, it reminds me of LakesBison, and is creepy how obsessed they are with anything UND related.  It's not cool and they really drag down that fanbase.

  2. From the Ciskie Blog about this weekend up in Duloot:

    Couple public service announcements:

    1. This is a busy, busy weekend at the DECC complex. There's the Bentleyville Christmas light display at Bayfront Park, the Nutcracker ballet shows at DECC Symphony Hall, and the Arrowhead Ice Fishing Show at the DECC. They will all draw huge crowds, on top of the 7,000 and change expected for the hockey games. Consider yourself warned. Go early, walk over to Canal Park and kill some time, and know you have a parking spot and fairly easy access to the arena to get in the game on time.

    2. Saturday night, UMD is conducting its annual toy drive. If you're going to the game, please consider bringing a new, unwrapped toy or two to donate. Hopefully, we can set a record with a standing room only gathering anticipated. Sadly, no Teddy Bear Toss this year, but the toy drive should be huge. Would love it if you could bring something to donate.

Cannot go myself, but this is for those who can...

Cool about the toy drive.  Bring something UND fans!

  3. I'm watching last night's UND game and to a non-Hawks fan, one would think Jake Brandt is the biggest homer announcer but to me, I absolutely love his enthusiasm and energy! He was so fired up with the team's play, particularly Schmaltz's defensive stick play!

He is like a die hard in the stands talking to his buddy about the game, I like it a lot.

  4. Giving my honest opinion:

I'm starting to absolutely hate this "Fighting Sioux" forever nonsense. I sat next to fellow students who I asked what they voted for, "Fighting Hawks because it was the best option," they replied.

All of a sudden, "Fighting Hawks at full strength!" And those same students boo'd. Are you f***king kidding me????? Is that a practical joke?? You vote for a name then boo your school and your team??? I can't stand it. I didn't vote for F-Hawks in any rounds of voting, but I accept that's what the majority voted for. I'll cheer for Fighting Hawks, Roughriders, NoDaks, hell I'd even cheer for Sundogs if that's what the majority voted for.

This is done, the school moved on. You may stick to Fighting Sioux, but the school is moving forward. Don't boo your alma mater, your favorite team. Cheer for UND. Be an adult.

Yes.  It is time to move on, shouldn't be booing!  I'm sick of it and also embarrassed.  Great win by UND!

  5. This is a pretty funny video.

Seriously though, just give your tickets away if you can't use them! I've made people's week by giving or even selling them my tickets.

Ya, I highly doubt many on this passionate fan forum are the ones not using their tickets.  It is the corporate types, who have these great lower bowl seats.  I always see empty seats in the prime areas, possibly because their occupants are up in a suite or in the end bars.

  6. People hanging onto tickets when they know they can't go, and leaving seats empty is like that kid who hordes all the toys by them so the other kids can't get them, even thought they can't possibly play with all the toys.

Folks, if you aren't going to use your tickets, try to sell them, or give them away to someone who will put THEIR butts in YOUR seats.  The team needs them!  Fill the Ralph!!!

Post free tickets last minute here in the ticket forum and you could provide a chance to get somebody in who wouldn't otherwise make it, what a cool thing to do.

  7. Sitting in a suite alone like he was at Scheels Arena last year during the NCAA regionals? My buddy told me to look up in the suite, Faison was sitting with all of his friends. He was the only one in the suite.

On the end bleachers, with others.

  8. My guess is you will have to meet him in East Lansing. Everytime I hear Hennesey broadcasting a hockey game I hear him saying something about Faison and his wife being on the trip with them.  You may have to tell him the final score of the UNI game. I'm not sure he realizes there was a game.

Faison was at the basketball game.
