  1. I'm not sure if this is the right place as it's not a jersey, but it is part of the uniform. Does anyone know if these gloves have anything to do with the University of North Dakota hockey program? or are they likely a random custom piece that someone had made? Thanks.

  2. oh,  meant to add this before. Probably not the right place, but this is the only place that I've been a little active in.

I graduated with my MBA in December online from UND, so my wife and I finally made it out to Grand Forks in February before all this mess of 2020. My program notified the GF Herald and did this nice story: https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/4953511-From-Philly-to-NoDak-Recent-UND-grad-visits-North-Dakota-for-the-first-time

We had a blast and can't wait to get back out there.

  3. Sorry to always ask questions about legitimacy, but I know the people in here are experts.

Can you tell me if these are licensed Nike replicas or knockoffs? $140 each is fair for a legit replica, right?

    Thanks!

Looks very close to the style worn in at least 2016-17, except on this one you don't see the GA on the front.

However, on this one from earlier in the year, it is clearly visible. It could also just have been a previous/current year photograph:

Edit: Looks like it was first used in 2015-16 and they used old photos for their social media posts in-game:

Awesome finds. Thanks so much! I'm happy with the purchase.

Anyone have any idea how much it would cost to get the name plate swapped for "CAULFIELD"? Conveniently that is my last name as it is for Judd Caulfield, though no relation as far as I know.

There is no record of a Wilson having played for UND WIH on collegehockeystats.net.

    Cool. Thanks.

How about the year this jersey would have been from? Seems like there's a lot less on the women's jersey. Is it pretty close to what the women wore on the ice? Thanks again.

  6. I had been waiting for one of the women's style jerseys on eBay as I really like the cursive writing. Was happy to grab this in my size for $127.

I'm finding it hard to find accurate past rosters, at least not with #21 Wilson on the team. Can someone let me know if this was a player or this was a custom one for a fan?

    Thanks.

    so I messaged the seller:

    "Hi,

Thanks so much for the jersey. I am really happy with it.

I did have a question though. I know that the University of North Dakota is switching to Adidas for this year for ice hockey and none of the jerseys have yet been released (as far as I know). Do you work or sell Adidas products? was this a mockup created by Adidas for a potential North Dakota jersey? I was talking to my friend who is anxiously awaiting to see what the on-ice versions are going to look like next year. Thought you might know!

    Thanks so much!

    -Joe"

    His lengthy response:

    "Glad your happy with it!

I tried another response. We'll see what he says:

    "Hi again,

    Yeah, it's great.

Do you know the story for the jersey? Is this what Adidas is going to be making this year for the team or was this a concept piece as North Dakota transitions to Adidas?

    Thanks.

    -Joe"

So I'm not sure how I feel about his response. I still think he's probably in the distribution line for Adidas or something and this was likely a concept piece that Adidas made for UND. OR he's a counterfeiter of Adidas stuff and doesn't want to admit to it? But he's got a lot of Arizona State and other Adidas items such as t-shirts, which I'm not sure are counterfeited like jerseys. I would guess that the margins are too slim on items like t-shirts to make it worthwhile to counterfeiters.

FYI, the last response to this was: " I don’t really know. It’s for fall 2019 that’s  all I have.

    Sent from my iPhone"

Presumably as mentioned, this person probably bought straight from Adidas and it was some sort of sample/trial. Happy enough for $45. We'll see what the actual jerseys look like eventually I guess.

Just be wary should the seller be shipping the item from China, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc.

Thanks. If I've learned nothing else from this forum, it's definitely been that!

I mentioned it above, but I typically vet the sellers by if their feedback and/or what else they've sold. It seems like the people selling counterfeit jerseys are primarily doing jerseys. Whereas other guys like this seem to be selling stuff that were legitimately made by the brand for a school. But @southpaw was able to give me a name for it "trial jersey" and "sample sale". So these items are sort of in that gray area in between.

  9. 9 hours ago, southpaw said:

As an adidas employee, the tagging is consistent with products made as a trial jersey.

Likely, part of the recent "sample sale" held at the main offices throughout the world. That means he probably paid $10 for it and that it is high enough quality to be seen in public but not what is actually selected by the school.

Should be 2-3 more unapproved designs floating around the US somewhere.

Thanks! so is this how a lot of this type of stuff winds up on eBay? you'll see the same sellers have a bunch of the same brand of stuff - be it Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, etc.

  11. No, I didn't ask. I suppose I could. I think I decided that it was probably a promo type thing based on the fact that they have a lot of Adidas and Mitchell & Ness (previously owned by Adidas) stuff that all seemed to be from a legitimate (possible overstock) type of line. I've seen a fair amount of other retailers getting these promotional type items, at least in more niche sports, like say lacrosse. You'll see some lacrosse stores get say an Under Armour lacrosse glove for Maryland, but their regular glove might be a different model. So it's a legitimate model, but necessarily what the team is wearing. It's a bit different with lacrosse as you won't see too many lacrosse jerseys for sale, so it's not quite an apples-to-apples comparison.

I do recall seeing some Under Armour gear for University of Minnesota Duluth that looked very close to the stuff worn on the ice, but was slightly different. I'm not sure if promotional is the right word, but it's kind of like Under Armour creating a range of legitimate stuff for their teams, but only some of which will be mass produced/chosen by the school/team.

Here is the seller's store: https://www.ebay.com/sch/setays13/m.html?item=183853365382&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

I'll shoot them a message to see if they'd give me a straight answer.

  12. And by attached, I meant I'll naturally forget and put it here. :)

It lacks the Adidas part and is below vs. above, but the stitched in part seems comparable. I am by no means an expert on identifying counterfeits.

If that turns out to be a legitimate replica even, thats a steal for $45. I'll be curious to see what the REA shop sells them for.

Yeah, we'll see. I'm a little wary of how the Climalite part looks, but the tag area of the Parley one (legitimate purchased at Dick's Sporting Goods) isn't all that different looking. I attached that. (For the record, the parley is a 50, because I intend to wear that without pads and got a 52 in this one. The 52 fits slightly bigger as I would expect - though noticeably smaller than the CCM 52 UND I already have - but I think Adidas just sits smaller in general).

For open hockey in Philadelphia (where I live and attend UND through the online MBA program), it's good enough for me for $45. :)

  14. (Take 2 - dunno why the pictures are coming in sideways and upside down, sorry.)

I was the one that purchased that jersey on eBay. I put in an offer for $45 and they accept. I needed a white jersey for open hockey. Took a few extra pictures.

I compared it to another Adidas jersey I have, though it's the Adidas Parley (recycled bottles) version of a Philadelphia Flyers jersey. It seems about the same.

The tag that came on it makes me think of some other Under Armour stuff that I've seen that might have been mockups made for the school. So a legitimate product, but just a version that Adidas made as sort of a promotion or to give the school an options.

Happy enough with a $45 jersey for open hockey.

Even though it says authentic, there is no fight strap. It fits just like the 52 in the NHL version.

  15. another question for the trusty jersey experts out there. The Sioux Shop is having a sale for the current CCM and Reebok jerseys they have in stock. This was my first authentic model ordered - CCM version. I got size 52. It feels little big in torso, but close. the sleeves, however, are huge. Is this just a difference with the authentic jerseys? (seeing as they are designed to fit over pads.)

Does anyone know if CCM sold the UND jerseys smaller than size 52? I'm not sure if the Sioux Shop had them before or not, but they don't have any currently on their site.

Debating if I should return this authentic and get a replica or what. If a 48 doesn't exist, then the authentic probably isn't my style. I'm very unlikely to wear the 52 without pads under it (would wear to play open hockey).

  16. sweet. thanks for the feedback, guys. I just grabbed it for $45, so I'm excited. I almost talked myself into buying a UND jersey from the Sioux Shop now with their spring clearance sale, but I'd much rather have a licensed replica Sioux one.

  17. hi guys,

I honestly tried to figure it out for myself, but couldn't. feel more confident in identifying the counterfeit Reeboks. seem to be less Nikes. But can you guys weigh in if you think this is a legitimate replica? Thanks. 259938080_sioux1.thumb.jpeg.47be07d2481a80e7ed574f737c3f8528.jpeg1997517623_sioux2.thumb.jpeg.ed340c4be764ce384963fd091c8088fc.jpeg1315322668_sioux3.thumb.jpeg.3f2d73c66c75c3300c599278a76b82fb.jpeg

  18. As I don't feel qualified to identify a fake vs. an authentic, I'm in another forum and looking for some guidance. Someone posted a jersey that has caused a fair amount of uproar. Can you guys weigh in on whether this jersey is authentic or not? The pictures aren't the best. I presume someone that is used to looking at this would be able to tell immediately. Thanks.

To clarify I am leary of my ability to identify counterfeits, whether buying or selling.

I concur with 90siouxfan, but get the point everyone is making. You want to believe you're getting a deal, but it just seems like with respect to Sioux jerseys, if it looks too good to be true, it definitely is.

Can anyone confirm if these are licensed K1 jerseys? https://www.ebay.com/itm/UND-University-of-North-Dakota-Fighting-Hawks-Hockey-K-1-White-Medium-Jersey-New/253408288075?hash=item3b004f9d4b:g:hrwAAOSw9NBadhMf

I know most people on here prefer Sioux and authentic/game used stuff, but this is much more in my price range. I don't even know if knockoff/counterfeit K1 jerseys are a thing. But I assume it must be as well.
also, does anyone know how the fit of K1 jerseys like this runs? would it be the same as an NHL Reebok? That's the only one I have that isn't a counterfeit. Bought a Sioux counterfeit before I found this site, and that fit is tighter than my NHL jerseys.
