  1. Well why wouldn't they be cocky, look at their schedule. The funny thing is we had 3,000 more people at our game then the N.C. vs. NDSU game. Wasn't that game hyped up to be a aa classic. On T.V. they showed one side completely empty. And the attendance was 5,311. I thought there would be at least 5,000 bison fans there. Well tickets for tech go on sale tomorrow for $3.00.

  2. Well there was a picture that I found on the bison site and put it here but it shortly got removed. It was a picture of a lady tailgaiting at the bison game with a shirt that said f@#k UND. Bison Guy must of thought it was classy enough so he put up on the bison site only to remove it when I put it up on the sioux site. I can not believe how someone can wear that kind of shirt out in public. It just shows NDSU can get us off their minds. And I really can not believe that a bison fan would put it up on a public board. It's all about bison pride, I guess.

  3. By the way, I got this off the Bison site. It has been on there all day. Tony, you must really be looking the other way on this one. PURE AA CLASS. But what can you expect from the folks down south. They laugh and make fun of the GREEN MILL burning. PURE CLASS.

  4. I hope we can get a good crowd on Saturday. Usually our opponets for the opener are not that tough and the crowd is light, but not the case this year. I hope our "O" line is coming around. This will be a huge test for them. It would have been nice to have the line get their feet wet against a lesser opponet, but if they play well Saturday then we will know how well they are coming along. Ball control and field position will be BIG. Of course we are not selling tickets for $5.00 and giving them away to staff and faculty. The Bison started a thread about our crowd and that they will have many more fans then we will. Well let's see at $5.00 a seat and a area three times bigger then Grand Forks they should have tons of people. Welcome to D-1 football you can see a game for 5 cents, I mean a NICKEL, or is it 5 bucks. How exciting. I'm sure the BISON will set a record attendence and it will be ONE more fan then the UND/NDSU game. You know how they figure out their attendences down there. Bubble screen first play of the game saturday?

  5. We are ranked pre-season Number #1 and there is no media coverage about football. All they talk about is the world juniors tryouts. I know coach Lennon is very upset about the lack of press , as he should be. You have one of the best teams around and it's two weeks before a big home open game and their is nothing said about it. Could you imagine if it was hockey, there would be something in the paper the last two weeks hyping this up. Let's start getting ready for football and not worry about hockey right now.

  6. Kierah Kimbrough plays for Badger-Greenbush-Middle-River. She is a 6'0'' lefty who can post up and run the floor. She has a great mid-range jump shot which is deadly. In the playoffs last year she was constantly triple-teamed and still scored 20. She is very, very athletic. She averaged I believe over 30 points a game last year. It would be a steal.

  7. Seen her play a couple of times and she is good. It's nice when they commit early. But like you said UND Fan the catch would be to land the Kimbrough gal. She is the real deal. Maybe this could help things out.

  8. Face it, no one considers UND a D1 school. You guys are living in a dream if you believe that. That kind of unprogressive attitude is what makes ND backwards and resistant to progress. You need to move on with us, or you will be left behind with the Minot State's of education.

Education. You want to talk Education. The reason for THE ndsu bison's move up is a) jelousy and b) football. I think UND does and will do alright in the education side of things. NDSU has the engineering and that crop and weed science degree I heard was outstanding. UND will just get by with the Med. school, law school, Business school, and that other one where they fly airplanes. I think NDSU needs to catch up with UND in so many areas. We can add hosting playoff games in a dome. Remember it's all about football, the other sports don't matter, the research side is just a cover up, it's all about football. Don't you feel sorry for AMY and TIM? Rumor is that MONT. TECH landing a few dandy recruits. Maybe JBB can fill us in on this.

  9. NDSU needs to put people in the seats and a loosing team will not do that....especially with no post season for the next few years. I think that Chapman and Taylor realize this and that is why the schollies are ramping up so fast. It also will lead to large guarantee money sooner as well. In reality, both NDSU and UND should have been D1 15 years ago. The state of North Dakota deserves that. With the two flagship schools being D2, higher ed in ND has been seen as at a lesser level than other states. I am sure over the next few years as this shakes out we will see UND moving up as well. Both UND and NDSU have few peers in D2 and both institutions are a much better fit in D1. I am not sure that NDSU and UND will ever be in the same conference again, but I do think that with in the next 5 years they will once again share a division.

Maybe in a few years when it all shakes out we will see the bison back down to D2, on their hands and knees begging for a conference. I think I speak for most fans when I say I would rather be playing for a chance of a national title in a sport, rather then just saying, "well, look at the teams were playing, but were not going to win a title". Football and wrestling are your best chances, but what would a football title be worth? It's AA, and that is not even close to the big boys that you claim your going to be someday, (see USC, TEXAS, MIAMI) you are AA don't get it confused with the big boys. And by the way, didn't they carry the title game of AA last year on a weeknight and the D2 title game on a Saturday. If I recall more people tuned in to the D2 game last year then the AA game, by quite a bit. Of course if the bison were in that game it would have outdrawn the ROSE BOWL. O.K. the OUTBACK BOWL.

  10. the sit out game only is enforced for fighting, not for swearing at the umpire....

If your thrown out of a game you sit the next one (NCC rule) doesn't matter what you do to get tossed. But, I guess nobody knows or cares.

  11. I'm glad I went down to the games last night. I have to admit I was a little weary about them. The key was jumping on them in the first inning. It seemed as if our bench really got us going and getting a lead was huge. It was a classic finish with J.J. getting Piepkorn to strike out on a pitch in his eyes. No let down in second game as UND scores 5 in first inning and hangs on for 6-4 win. The only down side was piepkorn didn't make the last out AGAIN!!! I thought Piepkorn had to sit out one game last night. Anyone know any details on this.

  12. It's NDSU's way of creating something that just isn't there. They need to play for some trophy as soon as possible because they really miss the nickel. Poor SDSU, they better get a good look at what the trophy will be because they will never see for awhile. Great rivalry Biiissson. I'm watching ESPN but I don't see the naming of the border battle trophy being covered. Shame on you ESPN.

  13. ya, they all talk so big, but they love to come to are sight to raise hect. They are so jelous they just want to see what were up to. Could you imagine if they would have beaten us the last few years in football how cocky they would sound. They sure would have loved to bring that NICKEL on their big caravan out west with them. I wonder if BOHL got to fly around Nebraska like he is doing in Bisonville. Giddy-up were heading to williston.

  14. yah, the bison fans get a little edgy when you poke fun at their schedule. Bohl was on coaches show tonight and he didn't mention the team called MONTANA TECH. And by the way no phone calls were being taken. HMMM. I think even Bohl is embarressed by the NAIA team.

  15. well, no need in un-banning JBB for this thread(not that i really wanted you to anyways, or that you really would have). i took the liberty of going to bisonville to comment on it, and who was the first person to reply to me? JBB. i love it, its humorous. feel free to check it out and add your thoughts if you like. its under the football topic, "2004 Schedule". if nothing else, its a good laugh to brighten your day.

Yah I saw it and also chimed in. It was tough because I was laughing so much. I guess the boys in fargo won't be saying crookston or montana anytime soon.

  16. guinn could be a steal as she is currently second in scoring 21 points and about fifth in assists with 5 per game in girls 4A. Too bad her team St. Francis got beat by centennial 61- 60 the other night. Would have been fun seeing her at the state tourney.

  17. Langen does have great hands, like glue, and keeps the ball up high when rebounding. She has the physical build to play right away but probrably just a few minutes. Sounds like she will be a banger who can give some girls a rest for the first year or so. Foot speed needs to improve. Also, only looks to shoot if she is in the low block, very low block. Just my opinion. Kimbrough on the other hand, well it would be a steal.

  18. Langen looked very tough last night getting 27 points and around 15 boards. Slyt really struggled scoring 16 (0 in 1st half) many at the end of the game in a rout. K-C 73 - C-F 50.

Sonstelie took over at the end in impressive style scoring 15 in the 4th, ending with 21. Sacred Heart won 43-40. Kimbrough scored 23 very tough points as she was double and triple teamed. She was impressive. When she got the ball inside she usually scored with a couple of big time moves. UND coaches were on hand. Kimbrough, a junior went over the 2,000 point mark last night, tough!

  19. Godfread didn't play at all. It's probably not too surprising since he only averaged 5 minutes per game on the season.

It's interesting to compare and contrast the careers of Godfread and Rypkema. I have no idea how highly the UND staff thought of Godfread coming out of high school, but in the event that UND really wanted him and Ryp was something of a consolation prize, it's safe to say that UND got the far better end of that deal.

your right. UND did get the better end of that deal. And for Godfread he only played 4 minutes the last 6 games. Looks like Mac really shortened his bench during tourney time (going 8 deep). You wonder if Godfread stays his last year at UNI. I suppose he will with them going to the dance this year.

  20. This was in the Star-Tribune today:

I guess we'd better hope she wants to stay close to home for college. A 6'2" girl athletic enough to be second in the hurdles at the state track meet AND be the all-time single-season scoring leader for MN is extremely impressive.

Good match-up tonight at the college in thief river fall. 6:30pm it's climax-fisher(brenda slyt) vs Kittson-central(langen). 8:00pm Sacred Heart(sonstile) vs Badger-Greenbush(kimbrough).
