Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere or officially announced by UND, but if it was I never saw it.

There is apparently a half hour radio show on KFGO 790 on Monday nights with Jack Michaels and Bubba, called Monday Night Quarterback, from 6:30 to 7:00.  Just stumbled across it tonight, and I actually called in as well.

Again, maybe I am in the dark about it, never heard of it until tonight.  Never saw any announcements from UND or KFGO........

What did Bubba have to say?

She deserved to be thrown out of the room instantly.

Ya, that would have been tough to take.  Can you imagine?  I would've loved to have been in that room when those words were spoken.  I wonder if she has left her house yet...but enough of that.

Nothing is on hold.  Not sure how many are left.  They aren't cutting scholarships. Actually in Kennedy's interview prior to interview part of this evaluation is how to get more resources to the core sports to make them more competitive.  He has a vision for what he wants the athletic dept. to look like and a competitive football team fits that vision.

I wish I could find a link to the pregame but it left me feeling a lot better about him and this situation.

OK, I didn't think they would do something like that, but after reading what Kimberly Kenville offered up during the Intercollegiate Athletics Committee, I was concerned. Seriously, not being in a conference at all or moving back to Div II?  Wasn't really sure what we were dealing with.

Bouma ain't getting 100 on us. That qb is a different story. He's a problem.

Don't look past Bouma...BIG back at 5'11", 220. Lots of experience.  Speed and power. Defense needs to bring their A game. The quarterback and RB have potential to be a 1-2 punch.  Gotta bring it. One game at a time...never overlook anything.

  5. Definitely can't underestimate USD.  They play until the end, they proved that last week against Weber State. Without the first 3 initial turnovers, it wouldn't have even been that close of a game. Can't forget that they broke the 26 game home field winning streak against NDSU, defeating them 24-21 on the Bison turf just last year.  Glenn described them as a tough, gritty bunch.  Nielson has a reputation of building teams.

  6. Gibbs tweeted that NDSU said he could earn a scholarship if he performed at camp, however bc of an injury he was unable to do any summer camps, therefore, the scholarship offer never came.  USD came in with a scholarship and he took it.  I see he is invited to compete in the Blue-Gray All American Bowl, one of 4 RBs selected in the United States to play on the West team. They play in the Dallas Cowboys stadium in January and are coached by NFL coaches, aired on ESPN.

  7. Hey, totally understand your passion for UND football.  Bubba is a great guy, along with the rest of the coaching staff.  They will do great things.  Just kinda wish they could've wrangled Gibbs in.  Would've loved to watch him play there.  If it's true that they only offered him a walk on spot, no reason for him to commit there either I guess.  I'm out though, this thread is getting ugly.

UND and NDSU both offered walk-on spots.  He basically took a walk-on on spot before camp season even began.  Strange choice.

Hmmmm......interesting....how do you know this information?  Is it public knowledge?  I hadn't heard that. I heard that he was offered a partial at NDSU.

I have a belief that the young men we want and need are intelligent enough and have enough awareness to see through that.  If an athlete can't navigate through the good and the bad in recruiting, that's a potential character flaw in my book.

I can honestly say, how many 16-18 YO young men know that much about what they are eating tomorrow much less how they'll dig through the deep inner motivations and truthfulness of people they barely know when their future is in flux?  This isn't an easy time. They along with their families have typically never been through this process--you wouldn't believe the emails, texts, IM's, hundreds of mailers, promises made, insinuations that get put out there if you are a recruit.  Everyone has an opinion including these kids own coaches, families, friends, girlfriends and you throw in school and academics and proximity to home or not, $ and shake it all in a baggy with some hormones and you just never know what comes out the other side.

Exactly Momster, these are 16 to 17 year old kids that are trying to make their way through this process.  Lincoln Gibbs lives close to my community.  I don't think there is a person who doesn't respect him.  His work ethic, passion, community service, and integrity is of no other high school kid I've seen.  He is a waiter at the restaurant we patron, a kid from a small school with incredible talent. I went to UND, my wife and I were hoping that  he would go to UND.  There was almost of full page story today regarding Lincoln and the offer in the Aberdeen American News. He's a class act. The Bison scored with this kid. Longtime Fan, I can see why you are PO'd.

  10. I know that Lincoln Gibbs, Langford Area, from SD,  was invited and attended their spring game last year, and I believe was invited and participated in a couple of unofficial visits and a season game.  He also attended their prospect camp last summer.  I spoke with him recently and he said he will be attending the Junior Day on April 16th.  He is the running back that broke 3 SD All-Class state records during the SD State championship game last year. Super nice kid, we've  been kind of watching him make the rounds throughout ND and SD  visits (NDSU, SDSU, USD) He's from our area and we are hoping he doesn't go outside of SD, ND, or MN. He's a 2017 prospect as well.
