Just to dispute anybody who says this melee was the result of the Sioux having Canadian goons on their team, I took the time to break down the 10 guys in home province/state.

I see in the box score they have Toews' second goal listed as short handed... I'll be interested to see if that stands, because I thought they said that Kozek was stepping back on the ice.
Interestingly, while having it listed as a short handed goal, they have 9,7,5,6,10 as the visitors on the ice.

Haven't seen it posted anywhere, my cousin in Grand Forks heard that Smaby is the captain and Mike Prpich and Chris Porter are the assistants.
Any further thoughts on the team from people attending meet the Sioux?

My cousin went to Meet the Sioux and he said that Fabian was introduced during player introductions but then was never on the ice durring the scrimmage. Does anyone know if he is hurt?

At one time either hockeydb or joy of hockey had UND's Matt Jones and the Matt Jones on the 2003-2004 Green Bay Gamblers roster combined. As a result, I don't 100% trust statistics on these websites.
