SiouxMeNow
Doing my usual weekly cruise for Fighting Sioux stuff on Ebay and bumped into this- Gino glass on ebay I was at UND during the late '80s/early 90s just missing the great Gino years. What are some good Gino stories?? All I remember is Dark Stars poem/song about Gino and his Italian Loafers before a gopher series - there must be some good ones out there? PS - I see the assistants on the '80 championship team were Rick Wilson and Jim Nelson. We know Wilson went on the the NHL coaching ranks but whatever happened to Jim Nelson? Old Barn Guy
Nelson went back to coach high school hockey at Grand Rapids, Mn. He has been retired from that for at least a dozen years, maybe longer. I think he was the AD for Grand Rapids after he retired from coaching, but I don't know what he is doing at present. I had the opportunity to work a week of summer Sioux hockey camp with him back in the early 80's. He's a good guy and smart hockey man. I had never heard his name before among UND assistants.
