BisonMav
HIGH SCHOOL REPORT: Hastings sets mark to win 3AA boys golf The scores in boys golf throughout the metro this spring have been lower than in any previous year, and not even the adverse conditions Tuesday morning could prevent Hastings from shooting a record score in the Section 3AA tournament at Keller Golf Club. Jesse Polk shot a 1-over-par 72 to lead a Hastings sweep of the top three spots in the individual competition. Taylor Chorney added a 73 and Joe Conzemius a 74 as the Raiders became the first 3AA team to crack the 300 barrier, winning with a four-man total of 299. Taylor is former UND player Marc's son. As a Soph, he was one of the better players on Hastings HS team this year. He played defense. Soph Joe Welch, former Gopher Dan's brother was his teammate, and the team is coached by papa Russ Welch. I also believe Taylor's sister played regularily on Hastings Girls JV hockey team this past winter as a 7th grader. Keller is a decent golf course. It hosted the 1959 PGA.
