Who knows maybe the Vikings will chip in to help fund a new Stadium.
The Vikings just closed on land in Eagan for new practice facilities and a 10k seat stadium. I don't think Mankato will be getting any checks after the Vikings move into their new digs.

You're suggesting that a state with a population of 5.5M cannot afford more than one DI school...really?
There are, for instance, 8 DI institutions in the states of ND, SD, and IA. Those states have a combined population of 4.8M.
MNSCU's state appropriations have been reduced from 66% of budget in 2002 to 41%. today. Students should not be expected to pay more in fees to fund a football team when the state seems to be getting out of the business of higher ed.

None of the schools in the NSIC have the wherewithal to field a FCS football team. You might see a couple of the schools drop football and move their programs to DI in the distant future, but FCS football is not going to happen.

Haha, nice first post, you'll be banned soon. I bet the team you cheer for all the fans are very respectful?
Not highschool, but one year later....
Banned for that comment? Surely the admin has seen worse. And no, there are idiots in every crowd. UND has more fans than most hockey programs, so there are more idiots ...

You people are not in high school anymore. And take a good look at UND fandom, cuz it ain't pretty!

The Vikings almost moved training camp to Sioux Falls in 2003 and again in 2006. But I'm confident that they will move camp to Eagan after the completion of their new stadium.
