  1. Had a quick flash of the Sioux logo about 25 mins ago, 39% quality then it went off, signal now is down to 33% and no logo, still plenty of time until 7:35pm CST.

The football game last Saturday was stable at 39% right through the game, the Satwork Quality level is set very low.

Anything there yet?? (just did another scan and nothing additional showed up)

  2. Nice post. I live in Madison, WI so I know all about rude and ignorant fans.

I'm life long Vikings and Sioux fan (born and raised in Grand Forks, ND). Back in the 97-98 season, I remember the Sioux getting beat by the Badgers (in Madison). As I was leaving, the badger fans were making all sorts of rude comments towards me. One of them pushed me and yelled "go home and have another flood". I lost my cool and it took two of my friends to pull me off the guy.

I just don't understand why enjoying the victory isn't enough for these fans? I'm all for cheering like heck for your team and even some good-natured digs at opposing fans is certainly acceptable. But as to why certain groups of fans have to cross the line...I just don't get it...

  3. What the heck is going on?!!!??!?!? It was 1-0 Sioux, I went to take care of some business upstairs with the kids, finally get back downstairs and hear that the Sioux are down 4-1!!

This is NOT the time of year to start falling apart... <GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRR>

  4. NFL football is certainly my favorite sport. (Go Vikes!!) I live in Madison, WI and have Vikings season tickets (I GLADLY make the commute for every home game and typically see one or two aways games as well). And, of course, I have Sunday NFL ticket to see all the away games that I don't go to in person.

College hockey (specifically Sioux hockey) is definitely a close second. When I lived in Grand Forks, ND (where I was born and raised, BTW), I had season tickets for several years (at least when I wasn't a student getting in for free). Sioux hockey is THE reason I most miss living in Grand Forks. None of the sports bars seem to be able to get the games this year (something about the signal from the Ralph changing from variable analog to variable digital). DANG IT!!!!!!! :)

  5. Besides, historically the team that wins the McNaughton does not typically go on to win the national title. Given the choice between the two, which would you rather have as a Sioux fan?

Certainly, the national championship wins out. However, at this point in the season I (as a Sioux hockey fan) am focused on the McNaughton Cup. It is a prize which signifies excellence through out the regular seaon. One bad game will deny you the national championship. (but it certainly holds more prestige)

  6. I certainly wasn't silent. Personally, I felt I was one of the loudest Sioux fans at the game! Heck, I even sang the school song a couple of times ("Fight on Sioux, we're all for you, we're thousands of strong and loyal souls....") :silly:

I know I certainly annoyed a ton of Badger fans that were sitting around me!

  7. If You live in Madtown you should know historically UND has not done good in Madison. Last time UND was swept in Wisconsin they won the NCAA title. I don't take a lot from this weekend's sweep. I actually thought that when UND was up 3-1 they would have held on to win. They let one slip away.

I'm just saying that I don't get to see them a lot and what I DID get to see, I didn't like. Right now, I'm focused on what they need to do to get the McNaughton Cup. That's going to be quite the battle to the finish with the top of the WCHA tighting up so much after last weekend.

  8. I am "cautiously optimistic". However, you must understand that I live in Madison, WI (born and raised in Grand Forks. Went to school AND worked for UND for several years.) The only two games I've been able to see so far were the two here in Madison.

The first period on friday night was a CLINIC by UND. The remaining 5 periods of the weekend were very much disappointing.

I listen to them all the time on the internet, but it just isn't the same as when I had season tickets for all those years back in Grand Forks... :silly:
