Last year’s recruiting class….Schmaltz is the only guy that makes an impact each weekend….sorry, didn’t realize how specific I needed to be for you guys…

Everyone. Literally everyone over estimated this hockey teams ability to play cohesively on a regular basis. This team has it all. Lackluster recruiting class, old guys that should have graduated and moved on, portal dudes that haven’t panned out, second and third year players that continue to regress. Matteo, Portz, and Moore are the biggest head scratchers for me. Matteo has been non existent, while Portz had an incredible finish last year, but remains in and out of the lineup. Moore shouldn’t even be on the blue line. Make him a center or play Johnson instead. Basket Case. Next year this forum will explode in fits of rage. Every game will be like 7-4, 5-4, etc. and winning only half of them. We won’t have a solid defense for another few years, at least.

Doubt it. Berry is allergic to first round talent at the forward position…

Offense should go up next year, and defense will probably be about the same. Berry needs to really hammer home that breakout passes need to be short and sharp. This team can and will only win games next year, with a very aggressive forecheck. I’ve listened to multiple gopher player interviews this year, and the kids always mention forecheck forecheck forecheck. Keep the puck in the offensive zone, and the pressure on. PP and PK is great, but the fundamentals win championships!

It’s not like we ran away with those Cups. We won them with balance as well. Defensively we went off the deep end this year. I may be wrong, but discipline has also been an ever growing issue under Berry.

Begs the question as to why he’s not given more opportunities then? Is the Leash that short with Berry?

A lot questions indeed. Constantini, Moore, Bast, and even Frisch have all regressed this year. Judd has yet to even solidify as a sure fire second line scorer. There’s no identity with this group.

Our recruits haven’t panned out. I thought James was supposed to be a stud? I’ve seen glimpses of speed, but that’s about it.

That team feels like the opposite of this team in how bad you can be. They couldn’t score goals, but played decent defensively.
