  1. I have a hard time believing that Montana has a more nasty offensive line than SDSU. They may be bigger but those SDSU lines play with a mean streak that I didn't see from Montanas last year. Montana has the same OL, we'll see if they're much improved.

If your goal is to run the ball down somebody's throat dont you think your OL has to have a mean streak? Last year our offense wasnt designed for the ground and pound. This year its a different story, we are going to use those big guys up front to push people around. We ran the ball 51 times against App St. Expect the same dose for UND as well..

  3. Does it look like he has any rust from sitting out a year or did he look back to his old self game 1 against App? I think he will make a difference, but I think both teams have changed a little since last year.

I thought for sure he might be a little rusty but he showed no signs of rust. He hooked up with 10 different receivers against App St. I think he was 19-23 251 yds 2 td's. He makes very few mistakes. He doesnt force anything, he takes what the defense gives him.

He has adjusted well to our new offense. The kid just makes plays. He knows the game and he's been a winner wherever he goes..

  4. You don't get torcherd for a BSC record 660 yards thru the air without having some doubts/concerns about stopping the same group of WRs. Anything else is reckless chest thumping. If UND can run the ball a little bit and slow down the Griz running game...now you got something.

You're correct. There is some concern but i feel like this is a new year and a different team that what you guys seen last year.

JJ is the x-factor. The kid is a straight baller. He brings so much to this team, not only to our offense but our defense feeds off of him too. It should be a great game.

  5. I can hear the Montana DC in the meeting room now.... '84 is scrawny, we're gonna press all day and he won't get off the line of scrimmage.' Please please Montana press our WRs. Especially Hardin and Jackson.

We respect your WR's. Whats going to hurt you guys is whichever RS Freshman QB is starting the game. We're gonna tee off on him..

  6. So your going to press our wrs on Saturday?

How good is the App St team you beat?

Im not saying we are going to press your WR's but I dont think we'll be linning up as deep as we did last year. Who knows how good that Apps St team we beat is. They definitely were hung over the following week.

  7. I don't disagree that Montana will move the ball, but what is different about your pass D this year? You gave up a Big Sky record amount of yards to a QB and WR. (Montana State shut the same duo down immediately after)

Last year our DB's were greenhorns. We were giving you guys way too much room to work with. Many times they were lined up 8-10 yds from your receivers. We also had our LB's lined up out there on an island with your receivers too when we should have been playing in a nickle or dime package and they couldnt keep up.

Our defense was also on the field way too much last year and it showed in the 2nd half when you torched us. They wont be on the field as much as they were last year. This year our secondary has been playing very well. They've been going up against probably one of the best QB's in the conference this year in practice. I know its practice but still it carries over to the actual game. I was really impressed on how they played against App St granted they were without their best WR.

Alot of times when a team play Montana they lose the next week. There's always a let down. Ive seen it happen way too many times.

  8. Montana will rush for over 300 yds in this game. If i was a UND fan id be worried about matching Montana's intensity. We're gonna come out swinging. We know what we need to take care of and as long as everyone can cover their assignment I dont see us losing this game.. No disrespect to your progam..

The X factor will be Jordan Johnson. We played two RS Freshman last year at QB that couldnt move the chains and our defense was on the field way too much. Jordan knows how to move those chains and he will eat up the clock leaving our D rested to take on your passing attack. Cant wait for Saturday.

  9. South Dakota State brought some good pressure last game; they have a very talented front 7. Ryan Bartels, our QB who started the first half against South Dakota State, is not very mobile and had some trouble with the pressure. However, Joe Mollberg, our QB who played the second half and nearly brought us back to tie the game, was also pressured but he's a very good athlete and can handle the pressure a little better it seems. I think I speak for most UND fans when I say I hope Mollberg gets the start on Saturday.

I think the key for Montana is our front 7 will have to get after it. I believe we have the best front 7 in the Big Sky Conference and we will need to make sure we wrap up and not give you guys any second chance yards. Last year you guys destroyed us cause we were pissing down our legs when trying to tackle but at the same time i feel pretty good cause you only beat us by 6 points and that was one of our worse seasons in 20 years..

  10. Montana 246 rushing yds per game

South Dakota St 243 rushing yds per game

Montana's offense is totally different from last year. We will dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. You guys struggled last week in the run game. What do you have planned to stop it?

  11. I see the Griz trying to get the early lead using balance on offense and then controlling the clock by pounding the ball with their 2 quality RBs. Slowing down their running attack is key for UND. I think UND will get points to stay close...at least for awhile.

You are correct. We also implemented a FB who is a transfer from Boise St and he is really good at creating holes for the RB's

  12. Looking forward to this weekends game. We looked pretty good in our home opener against App St. Its really nice have Jordan "The Playmaker" Johnson back. The guy just doesnt make any mistakes. He'll take what the defense gives him. We switched up our offense this year from a read option attack to more of a pro style offense. Against App St, two of our RB's went for over a 100 yds with two scores a piece. Travon Van and Jordan Canada will be getting most of the carries. Johnson likes to spread the ball around in the passing game. He connected with 10 guys the last game so like i was saying he takes what you give him..

Defense looks like they have stepped it up from the last time you have played them. It will be a good test to see where we're at in our pass defense. Our D-line and LB's are very talented. It looks like this year our DB's will be playing a lot closer to your WR's this year and we wont be linning up 10 yards from them. Our Saftey play as also gotten better as well.

We have a huge O-line and we're gonna play into our strength which is running the ball which will set up our passing game. We want you guys to keep guessing what we're gonna do. This isnt the same team you shredded last year, looking forward to a great game. Hope everyone comes away healthy after this week. Best of luck UND!
