Well if you guys are willing to give up top recruits outa Beach, I guess we could pony-up our 5-star recruits outa Wibaux! In case there are some of you over on the east side of NoDak wondering where (Wee-Bo) is, Wibaux is the Montana suburb of Beach. And I still think The "Bakken Battle" is a sweet name.

I am very pleased with adding UND. Everyone that attends my tailgate feels the same way. We feel that the type of Midwest fan that supports UND is the same type of fan that we are, so to speak. DEFENSE wins titles! Cold weather, Rain, Snow..........smashmouth toughguy football! My father is really excited about adding UND. He went to MSU in the 60's and remembers the battles between CATS and the SIOUX. Since I've been reading some of the forums, I've noticed that GF trends more towards UND hockey than the football program. Over here, no hockey, CATS football is front and center. Hopefully with getting the exposure the BSC offers, your home fan base will get bigger. We recently took a huge turn in the right direction for our program. It is still in recent memory for me our 0-fer season. If you research the last decade or so, the BSC has had a representative in the title game almost every year, and if not the title game, definately the semi's. These things help Big Sky programs across the board. Our recent stadium renovation upped our attendance to over 20,000 a game. I hope to see your attendance grow too. Anyone gonna make the trip to Bozeman this year?

I agree. There will be years when the luck of the draw bites you in the butt, however you have to admit if you want to be the last one standing in FriscoTX, you're gonna have to beat quality competition along the way even if it's the third and fourth game of your regular season. All I meant by my post was that it should be exciting again for UND fans that becoming a part of the BSC means year in and year out there will be multiple teams from the BSC going to the playoffs. And definatley a better chance than the previous years for UND being a member of the great west conf.

With the new Big Sky look and adding the 4 new schools this year you have to grasp the situation at hand. Yes, there will be teams with "harder" and "softer" schedules. Each team has thier 2 "Rivalry" games that will be played each year, then the rest of the schedule is a crap-shoot. What we get out of this is two fold. One, you get to schedule a non-con game with a BSC oppenent that alows you a chance at that "7" FCS wins qualification without having to travel "too" far budget wise. And Two, now the BSC is a bigger and tougher conference as a whole. What this does is it provides more opportunity for teams in the BSC to obtain an "At-Large" bid with the expansion of the playoff field to 20 teams. All things said, you might be surprised when a Cal-Poly potentially doesn't make the cut and a couple other BSC teams make the playoffs that have a worse record based on the "Quality" of the W's. The playoff selection comittee takes all things into consideration including "Strength of Schedule".

I think we start by informing the AD's at both schools to get the ball rolling. We have a Quaterbacks Club that would know how to spearhead it on our side. They recently put out a parody of Red Solo Cup on youtube that's pretty cool. How do I post a youtube link on your forum?

Congrats on 1st BSC win UND. Welcome to the BSC. I'm a MSU grad and CAT fan. Our schools are rivalries again! Got two quick Q's for you. Since we have this great battle between us again, the word on bobcatnation.com is what to name it and what should the trophy look like. Since the Bakken oil field splits us, that kind of came out of the gate as the front runner. Something to do with the oil patch for a name and possibly an oil derrick of some sort as the trophy. What do you guys think? Also Grand Forks is a driveable or train ride game for us. I plan on making the trip every other year to cheer on the CATS so I was wondering what the tailgating setup was like over there. Looking to make some contacts with level-headed UND fans to get together and talk football/have beers without getting into a fist fight. Anyone planning on coming out to Bozeman this year?
