  1. Not all of us are. I do enjoy fans of other boards posting, especially fans of Big Sky schools, as long as they don't get too obnoxious which I don't believe you have. You just need to realize how much bison bs we have to deal with. They have posters like 'lakes' who goes to every board he can find and talk smack about UND. Makes many of us a bit leary of 'outsiders.' A little good natured ribbing/smack is fine though. Looking forward to seeing the griz in GF in October!

I read ya, I have met lakes once in Bozeman during the playoffs. Hes a good guy face to face I never read much of what he has to say on other boards but I get what you are saying.

I wasnt trying to be obnoxious I was just surprised that a team like yours that has moved up decided to play down....nothing more. I hate play down games I actually envy the Bison schedule every year, they play up and compete it can only make you better.

  2. People are willing to fork over $7 for beer, $6 for burgers and $5 for hot dogs at REA, but are whining about tailgate food not being free? Come on people, it's a big event and a big day in UND athletics. Quit looking for stuff to complain about.

Good post, they should be more upset that their team is playing down.

  3. Montana State has no in state rival? Is that supposed to be sarcastic??!!

No its the truth, the only division 1 team in America that beats their in state rival more is OU beating Oklahoma St.

We need a challenge and I am sure in a few years you guys may be up to it.

  4. I dont want to spam your board and if you guys need to move this or delete it, feel free, but its for cancer research and this guy seems like a hell of a good guy and a staunch FCS football guy. If you have any extra $$$ send a few dollars and buy some karma.

P.S. I issue a formal challenge to cat fans, you wouldnt want a Griz to out do you again would you? Either way we both win so donate and tell them AG1 sent you.

  5. I also think its a good idea. We need to establish a new rivalry with the Montana's. This idea of a trophy would be just a start. UND has played more games against Montana State than Montana so I think a Bakken Trophy with MSU instead of UM would be more ideal.

I agree darell, MSU needs a rival and since they dont have one in state (closet thing would be Carroll College), so if they have to go out of state to get one I am all for it.

  6. Maybe I'm still reading this wrong, but I'm just trying to figure out how UNI played like crap against ndsu on October 29th because they were looking ahead to the Montana playoff game on December 9th.

    I think that's pretty amazing.

    Am I missing something?

Just a whole lot of sarcasm...............................

  7. Why would that story effect JJ?

They only put the text messages in the story that made him look bad, they didnt put the text messages from the girl to her friends that made HER look bad. There is a reason that this isnt going anywhere. She set him up and even the prosecutor knows he would never win this case.

JJ did nothing wrong its FACT thats why he will be on the field this fall.

  8. What is the actual state of your team going into next season. We obviously know you have a good qb but how is the rest of the team shaping up for next fall?

This team is extremely focused and working harder than any team I can remember.

Our OL will be strong to begin with and I believe if they stay healthy will be dominating as the season goes on. Kistler is a road grader and Poehls is not far behind him as far as size and possible NFL talent.

RB's - We have 3 returning players with a ton of PT. Canada is a burner, Nguyen is a fumble machine but very jukey and evasive. Moore is a power back with a great 20 yard burst and as much power as any RB in the country, very very strong kid. We have 3 more that can contribute behind them, Walden, Kirschner and Hagfors.

WR's - Saylor is going to be a match up nightmare for most DB's in the BSC because he has size and deceiving wheels, Haynes will be the field stretcher, he too has size and speed. Gratton, Carver and Warren in the slot are all proven and have playing time from last year.

DT - Some new faces but all have playing time from last year. Harris is returning from a great year and should elevate his game this season.

LB's - Tripp, Coyle, Holt, Stuberg, Kanongataa, Owen (and possibly Gamboa) are the best group of LBs in the FCS and should be the single best unit on our team this season.

Secondary - young and somewhat inexperienced but loads of talent that should prove itself this season. Harris at CB is going to be a stud and should lock down one side of the field, couple that with Nguyen and Murray and Dennard possibly rotating on the other side and the corners will be very solid. Safety is overflowing with proven talent, Hermanson, Rominger, Tully, Lebsock and possibly Gamboa switching from LB to safety is a great problem to have. Can you say FAST?

This team is going to be very strong if they stay healthy, I predicted on Maroonblood.com months ago when all this criminal crap was going on that if this team stays healthy they wont lose a game this season. I still stand by that and any poster that has read me over the years can tell you I dont make predictions unless I feel they have a high probability of happening.

I havent been this excited for a returning group of players since 2000-2001.

Its going to be a hell of a ride.......so step aside the train is already on the tracks.

  9. So what are the chances that your beloved 'JJ' will be able to keep his dick in his pants long enough to able to actually play against UND instead of further embarrass your school whose new motto is 'non significat non'

She took "it" out and there really isnt anything to the made up fiction you guys are reading about. I am pretty sure he will be playing so all yall better stay home and do something constructive with your day.....especially if your name is Dick.

  10. I think UND will find out how difficult playing in the Big Sky will be. I won't predict their record this year because I don't know how they've improved their team. Every game can go either way. This is not the Great West.

I think Seth Lobato is a hidden gem of a QB he makes plays with nobody helping him. If he had some talent around him you guys would give UND all they want....hey you guys beat MSU so anything is possible.

    I loved that BTW

  11. Three years ago UND was in the middle of the transition to FCS, playing a perennial power in their own home yard, were winning at one point, and only lost by 10. What does all of this mean for the game this year? Absolutely squat. Both teams are different and we'll find out in a couple months. Thank all that is holy that forum trash talking doesn't dictate what happens on the field :silly:

I am going to respond to this quote like an Eastern Washington Eagle would respond..........this is my way of trying to ease you into the douchebaggery that is the EWU fanbase.

"Yeah, well 2010 was a transition year, we had a new coach and a new offensive scheme not to mention a ton of injuries, yeah injuries really made that game closer than it should have been"

My actual response would be..........that game was 2 years ago and we won. It means nothing to the game being played in October but JJ will roll hard all over your secondary in the air and with his feet.

  12. The fun part is that we get to find out for sure in a couple months. I do know that the UND team you will be seeing this year is much better than the team that visited Missoula a couple years ago. I'm sure it all depends on how much the feds decide to get involved with all the rape incidents your team has been involved with if you can confidently say the same.

The only rape you guys need to worry about is the one that will take place in the Alerus center on the 20th of October.

The Griz team you will be facing this year will be a lot better than the one you faced in Missoula a couple years ago. In fact I have stated that if we stay healthy this season we wont lose a game in 2012. Bold? Possibly but I just dont see anyone dealing with JJ and our offense. You guys seem enamored with MSU and some of you even say they are the king of the BSC (VERY funny) but we bitch slapped them in their own place last year and they lost some key guys and have little depth to fill it with.

A few of you said it correctly in a few months we get to find out and all this message board stuff is meaningless.

    Lets get it on

  13. actually have read your posts for quite a while on cs and ags and even venture over to egriz occasionally, alpha. enjoy most of them. but, sometimes it seems like you just want to pick a fight.

so the question I pose is why do you pick SUU as a loss and Cal Poly as only a maybe? I think SUU will be so disheartened (and maybe beaten up) by the time they play UND that UND will win that game even though the Fighting Sioux will be coming off two weeks against Montana and Montana State. I, like most UND fans, am hoping for a split those two weeks.

on the other hand, you give the team formerly known as the Fighting Sioux only 4 conference losses. 4 and 4 would be a respectable (not great) rookie year in an established conference like the Big Sky.

with the conference schedule UND has this fall and adding Portland as a non-conference game, you would probably agree only SUU's looks tougher on the surface. a 5 and 6 record is not as bad as one would expect from an established Big Sky prognosticator such as yourself. 6 and 5 is definitely a possibility and 7 and 4 is attainable (EDIT: and 8 and 3, 'cause, why not, these guys could do it!)

its going to be an exciting year for UND athletics. welcome to siouxsports, alpha.

Nice response Dakota, I figured there would be at least one post that was worth reading and your that post. The rest are just trolls that wear the sme colors that you root for.

At least you get it, I wasnt bashing your team or slamming your program. I just realize that after reading this site for awhile most of the posters here are as delusional as cat fans, they want it so bad but that doesnt win games, players/talent win games. Like it or not the BSC is a passing league and your secondary is going to be shredded if you give up plays and numbers like you did last year. I agree on paper you seem to have a good DL and a couple LBs but little depth. Your offense is going to need to bail you out of holes all year long and I am not sure they can.

Your team is young and inexperienced. The your DL is pretty light unless you got some drop down linemen that isnt on your roster. Most of the guys you have returning are 40-70lbs lighter than most BSC OLs. They might hold up for a half but depth will kill you when the big guys lean on them all game.

Also for the people that are uninformed on this site (and that looks to be a lot of you) the Griz will worry about our own team, you know the team that went to the semis last year and lost by 3. The team that returns the best LB core in the FCS. A DL that had some turnover but the guys that are back got a ton of playing time last year and I am not worried one bit about them being as good or even better than last year. Our secondary will be solid even with some loses like TJ and by the time we play you guys it will be getting its rape on any ball that comes near them.

Consider .500 a hell of a start even for your first year in the BSC and I do wish you guys well and hope you succeed it only make the conference better for all those involved.

P.S. If anyone wants to actually talk football come over to maroonblood.com and do so, if you want theatrics, idiots and infighting hit up the other site.

  14. You guys are probably in for a really rude awakening this season.

I say this because I have been reading the delusion on this board for awhile and its really starting to look like the MSU website every year.

This isnt smack but sometimes the truth hurts a bit so brace your self here it is.

UND will lose at least 6 games this year:

    Portland St

    San Diego St

    Eastern Washington

    Montana

    Montana St

    Southern Utah

and a very real possibility of losing to Cal Poly and Sac St

These teams are proven at this level and are returning a ton of talent, its just not a good year to be breaking into a new conference with what you guys have coming back.

Now if you want a real debate, please criticize my comments with facts and stats. I realize most of you will take the easy way out and start calling for me to be banned, call me a troll and evade facts and debate like a modest Kardashian

We can have a decent conversation or a cyber slugfest its up to you.
