  1. I just went to Scheels Arena to place a ticket at will call.  The kid behind the window, somehow confused, handed me an envelope with 4 SRO tickets in it with the names ANDERSON-RICHIE on the envelope (they were not mine, I was dropping off, not picking up).  ANDERSON-RICHIE, if you are reading this, Scheels Arena literally handed me your weekend, free of charge.... but I gave them back.  Scary.

  2. So basically we have to hope that at least 1 school that doesn't travel very well gets placed in Fargo and doesn't buy up all of their allotment, and then we have to be willing to camp out outside of Scheels Arena  (or go online if we want to be risky) at a TBD date IF there are any left for sale :)

  3. I'd like to get the discussion rolling about the small number of tickets that are still being held for the 4 "yet to be named" schools who will play at the Scheels Arena.  When will they become available, how many are there, who will be selling them, are they for students of those schools, etc.

Anyone associated with Scheels Arena or knows the process, please feel free to enlighten us...

  4. I'm sure Bryce is a good guy but I would love to hear the answer to a couple of questions...  first, why were people at scheels arena able to buy tickets before the eleven AM start time?  second, what happened to the tickets I had in my cart that said I had ten minutes to buy?  Gone like a fart in the wind...  were they never available in the first place?  Was there confusion on how many were available online?  Etix and tickets300 are saying the problem wasn't on their end but on the promoters (i.e. scheels arena).

I have to echo your frustrations. I went online, was presented with 2 tickets, tried to buy them and they were GONE. I'm sure there's a perfectly good explanation as to why the servers couldn't handle the amount of traffic and yada yada but I don't care, and had I known I could get them before 11 am, I too would have shown up at the arena!

  5. I got in right at 11.  The screen I saw said there were none available, but I didn't leave the screen.  At 11:10 I tried to buy again and this time it was successful.  I tried to purchase the 2 tickets that were "available to me" but by the time I hit submit, they were gone

    BS!

  6. Honestly, the whole 0.6 second thing doesn't bother me too much. Not trying to downplay it at all, but it feels the same to me as if UMN would have scored in OT or with 10min left in the 3rd. The "time remaining" part of it doesn't bother me.

If the UMN fans want to make a big deal of it in the future, I'm fine with that...but it still won't bother me. :)

This UND team was an underdog their whole run through the NCAA's...UMN was ranked #1 almost the entire season. When remembering that game, I'll remember it as the time that UMN got lucky at the end after being thoroughly outplayed for a good chunk of the game...and then got dominated two days later in the title game. Frankly, if given the chance, I believe that UND would have given Union a better game on Saturday...although I don't think they would have won. Union was just on another level during the postseason.

    0.6 forever!! :D

    Denial over. :crazy::lol:

Well put. ".6" doesn't bother me because it isn't indicative of any fault of our tender or anyone else on the team. Bounce of the puck didn't go our way that time. The t-shirts are certainly a chuckle, that's for sure.

  7. It's hilarious watching UND fans downplay the whole 0.6 second thing. Talk about denial. 0.6 will live forever and UND fans will just have to get used it. Yes the Gophers did not go on to win it all but neither did UND after the Porter wrap around in the '07 Regional. And wasn't that goal the top moment in the rivalry according to UND fans in some top ten ranking just last week? These two teams have played almost 300 times and last week's match-up was probably the most hyped up game in the rivalry's history and your team lost in epic fashion in a historic game to your arch rival that will NEVER be forgotten by either fanbase. Just like after the Holy Cross game, Gopher fans knew it was historic and would take heat from UND fans forever because of it. Well 0.6 will be no different. UND fans will never forget how their favorite team's 2013-14 season ended and Gopher fans will never get tired of reminding them.

The only thing I will remember about the 2013-2014 season is how hard our boys played and how proud I am to be a Sioux fan for life. Your little ".6" and "Blake Wheeler diving tap-in" moments are part of the game, part of the rivalry, and have no affect on how I look back on my team.

  8. Top excuses I've been hearing so far this week:

"Union is an old team; our studs leave too early"... 16 draftees vs 1 and UND has had the same issues for years, sorry that doesn't hold up

"East Refs were biased"... same refs all tourney long, there are good breaks and bad breaks

"we dominated the game except for that 3 minute window"... sorry bud, the numbers don't lie, and that's irrelevant anyways

"we were too crazed by our whooping of the Sioux's ass 2 nights before"... stupid on so many levels and not even worth my time to respond

MN played the Championship game with everything they had and came up short. It was one of the best Frozen Fours I've ever seen/endured. The whiners will whine, but regardless Union deserves to be called the Best in the Nation.

  9. In talking with several fans/friends over the weekend about this season, I see many people are very thrilled about Hakstol’s coaching job and the epic surge the team has had since November 30th. The latter half of the season was all conference match-ups (except for Bemidji), and mostly against teams who aren’t even in the Top 20 Nationally

The surge is always fun to watch but should be done so with an objective eye, especially when going into the Natty on a bubble. All too often the bubble bursts prematurely and then the "fire Hak" talk gets tossed around the internet.

  10. Sorry to go off topic a bit but does anyone know where I can find archived video footage of the full game of the 2005 World Junior Championship game between Canada and Russia? I've scoured YouTube, IIHF's site and TSN's website and cant find it anywhere.. just some highlights...

  11. Thats incorrect, if you are a UND insider you can view the Saturday webcast through unds site because they use the same provider as does 5 of 8 NCHC teams.

Well you just made my Saturday night :)
  12. I think it would be very helpful and informative if people would elaborate on what equipment they are using at home to see who is having trouble and who isn't. Computer processor speed ? Download speed from server? running cable from computer to tv? Google tv device such as vizio costar? Chromecast? If there really are problems on the users ends we should start to see a pattern.

I have had a FANTASTIC experience using the following:

    - Windows 7 OS on my laptop with Internet Explorer

    - shut off your wireless and using an Ethernet cord from device to modem (my modem is whatever Cable One is leasing me)

    - I have a $12 HDMI cord from Menards

    - I run a minute or two behind LIVE and NEVER use the "Best" quality options... 720p has proven better in terms of visual and audio quality

I have little to no issues. I don't even know what kind of modem or cords I have and my wife's laptop is 3 years old but I have had a great experience over 3 games so far

  13. Or if you subscribe to the UND Insider through UND, you can watch it for free!

I was referring to the video-cast available on the Miami site... what you are referring to will only provide the radio broadcast
  14. The live stream was top-notch and I highly recommend to those who has issues, to stream the game a minute or 2 behind LIVE. From my perspective as a somewhat technologically-savvy consumer, I can say that I was impressed even though I think I had the odds stacked against me using my wife's older laptop. Tips from me are as follows:

    - hard wire an Ethernet cord from modem to device (don't expect much out of wireless)

    - stream 1 - 2 minutes behind especially if using wireless is your only option (use time during intermissions to bank more grace-time)

    - Optimize your experience by accessing Task Manager and prioritizing the stream over other processes using up your CPU's power (Ctrl + Alt + Delete)

    - HDMI cords are $12 at Menards and work just as well as any for this purpose...
