No that is not what it means, so you only care about football and basketball? No it means, sometimes you have to stand up and fight for what is right. If the NCAA really gave a crap about Native American names then big schools like Florida State and Utah would be transitioning to a new name too, bu this is a power play by the NCAA to push a small school around in a small state just because they think they can. I cheer for all UND sports and I hope they do well. But someone has to stand up and say enough is enough.
I give you credit for sticking by your position you are very creditable problem is just as in poker when you put in a huge raise in the pot you don't ever want your bluff called. The BSC and NCAA not only called but went all in. Our lawmakers, citizens, and UND alumni are not going to foot that bill so they will fold. And that is the way it is going to all end. Anybody want to wager on that.

If there is such a thing as a bright spot here it would be that this is the nickname finally coming to a head. Our legislature passed this law for keeping the nickname after having hearing where both sides got out there info. Those wanting this bill basically said NCAA will eventually see things our way. They will back down and we will prevail. The other side including the legislators from GF area painted different picture what would be coming down the pike if this passed. Gee wiz look at it now and see how the rose colored lenses look now. If the alumni want to keep fighting this and go with it as far as they want to go that is fine with me just use your dollars not state tax money the people paid in for important things like infra structure, education?, things that matter. Our politicians finally acted in the last seconds of the game threw up there hail mary pass to the endzone and we now have to go to instant replay as it looks incomplete but the video in this case time will tell. Meanwhile our student athletes and all sports in general will pay the price if we go the distance and in the end lose.

My guess is they will be out this weekend. Have not heard of any price hikes so hoping everything will be the same.

I am going to say that I have to agree with Running with the Dogs, the refs blew the call, some grainy picture of the scoreboard doesn't prove a thing. Imagine if UNO had beaten the mighty ugly helmets by this crappy ruling the college hockey pundits would be up in arms.
I suppose the next thing will be an electronic eye on the goal line to determine goals. Update North Caroling is up four goals over Maryland in lacrosse. Gotta love that espn. We all should show some love to wdaz for getting the broadcast for today's game don't know what it is costing them but I will show mine by continueing to watch there local progaramming.

Interestingly, yesterday's games at Bridgeport outdrew last year's St. Cloud/Wisconsin regional final at the X: 7671 - 7182.
I think they need to quit moving teams out just because of inter conference matchup. Seems to me that is better for attendance and for example next year gophers make field as a 4 seed. If UND would earn 1 seed they get moved out. Profits for that region would double in one night you would sell out that building it is total nonsense. Heck if you used this years Krach ratings which many on this board favor you couldn't have gotten away from it. Don't get me wrong I know we are stuck with the pairwise because they want more teams to have a chance to make tourney instead of wcha teams and possibly hockey east and ccha. Have a rotating system for the four conferences so each team has opportunity to host it once in a while.

Its a parade to the bench
This is hard hockey to watch both teams look slow wondering if we have bad ice or something also with how much lack of control of the puck both sides are having. Both teams are literally fighting the puck though maybe a little worse on Union side. How many penalties do we have now.
Well three more games yet to watch tonight so it should get better than this. By the way from the silence in the building Bridgeport should have been labeled the "bracket of death".

UNH has about as much likelihood to beat us as you guys do losing to Denver. Both our sets of boys are on absolute rolls right now, and I don't see any team in our regional getting in either of our ways this weekend. Reichard has been a stud in goal and we haven't lost in over 2 months. You guys get BC in the semis. We get the tourneys best team in Yale
What makes this tourney hard to pick upsets over top seeds this year is all number one seeds are coming in hot having won there conference tourneys. I still believe in hindsight that DU should have been a higher seed than number 7 overall. I think they should have been a five and Michigan a 7. But it is what it is and UND has to beat DU again.

Well not a pretty period but effective. UMD wins all the big faceoffs and Union pp is made to look like crap because of it.
