  1. He can be just as inconsistant though. What do the Sioux need to do to get some consistancy in net. A save percentage of just over .800 is not acceptable. However, you cannot fault him for a deflection off his own player, but the break-away could have been different and especially the point shot.

You can absolutely fault him on the final goal. He was on his knees, and out of position which allowed the deflection to go in. Have you ever seen a goalie hit his knees on a point shot BEFORE the puck is fired? Every single goal was at least partially his fault. The first one, he was chasing a forward for some reason. The second one he was out of position again and backing up giving the breakaway shooter the advantage, the third one was a disaster and unacceptable, and I just mentioned the fourth. Saunders needs to be benched. Zane is the future of that position, and while he too has had some inconsistencies, he has also been the steadier of the two in the second half. Although our defense has been a let down all year, and that attributed to the loss, ultimately our goalie is our last line of defense and last night Saunders failed.

  2. There really isn't one bar in particular to watch games at. Jackson's downtown is where the Alumni Association holds viewing parties for big games but again it is downtown so parking is expensive and the bars are packed. I have found just going to my neighborhood bar near Wash Park or DU and asking them to put the game on is the way to go. As long as it isn't interfering with college football most people don't care.

  3. Do we see Eidsness again this weekend?

    I say:

Friday - Dell gets the shutout (5-0).

Saturday - Eidsness wins his last in a Sioux jersey behind a strong defensive effort (4-1).

There is no way we see Eids again. This is the playoffs, you ride the goalie that got you here. The Sioux aren't going to send a message like they aren't taking Tech seriously by playing backups. And they certainly won't play Eids on the night they hoist the Cup that Dell helped them win.

  4. I think the Sioux sweep this one. Not because St. Cloud is a lesser team, but I go back to the CC series. I was at both of those games and after the poor performance Friday night, Hak clearly laced into the team and sparked that Saturday night blow out. Since then, he has had this team focused. Whatever he is saying or doing is working. That is three straight games of 60 minute domination. His press conference last week saying how upset he was about the Kristo distraction showed me that he has this team prepared for a run no matter what comes their way.

We are deeper than St. Cloud, bigger, faster and are aiming to hang two banners this season. I expect us to come out each night with fire and determination.

  5. What is the point in speculating and spreading rumors? It doesn't matter how he got into this mess, what is going to matter is how he comes out of it. No matter how it happened or where he is being treated, frostbite is extremely serious. He could be back to normal in a week or two, or he could end up losing his toes and never playing hockey again. None of us know. Out of respect for Danny and his family, lets stop with the rumors, and start being positive and hopeful.

  6. Where are Sioux fans going after the games? I'm not too familiar with the bars around there. Hopefully there is a better turnout than what came to the "viewing party" held in Denver for the Goofer series.
