  1. I have been on the fire Hak side and have expressed that opinion for awhile but on this forum I would like to apologize to him, his staff and team. This season he has proved he is able to change and make adjustments, aka his to in the first OT, settle his team down and get their heads straight. His team has given it all and Hakstol has shown that it's not all serious( Gaarder the bus will leave when you say it leaves) and keeping the guys loose before the Badger game. Always been a fan of this team and from now on I will act like one.

    SIOUXELEVENS

    Respect.

  2. Has anyone commented how DU wouldn't show replays of the North Dakota goals? They don't at World Arena either. I think it's bush league. As a hockey fan, I would like to see a replay simply because just seeing the goal initially, it would greatly help process how the play went down in my mind-regardless of which team scores. Am I alone in this complaint?

I think it's small minded tactics but I also don't remember if UND shows goals on the score board after an away tally, do you? I know UND replays away goals on the broadcasts and during intermissions even though our fans and organization doesn't have any "class" according to some of the gpl'ers and uscho posters.

  3. Whats it going to take for Rocco to bury some of his chances? Love the kid to death. Best player on the ice in a lot of games, and makes whatever line he's on UND's best scoring unit. If he had that finishers touch he'd lead the team in goals this year.

PS: Guess thats why he didn't make the all rookie team of a noted journalist in the WCHA.

It would be great if he had a heavy Kozek or Frattin shot but I don't think he has the size/strength for that.........yet.

  4. Ok, I can't resist I need to say something here. Geaux_sioux, you give me the year they won it before Bina and I'll tell you the talent. Also you tell me the year they should've won it, along with all the talent on that given team.

I really think they had the talent to win 2010-2011 but couldn't score against Michigan, that was a heart breaker. However, I thought the coaching was great right up to the final buzzer when Hakstol put his best players on the ice to try and get a goal.

  5. Maybe we are trying to delay the second half surge a few weeks to time it right? ???

I doesn't look like any thing is being timed right after the last two weekends of play. The biggest disappointment is the defensive zone below the from the face off dots and below they are getting out played and it is becoming very costly. Saunders soft goals are more than frustrating, come out of the net and challenge the shooter! This first goal is just awful:

Another thing that irked me was a few of the players closing down Ground Round Thursday $2 teas night, I'm not their coach or parent but were is the personal discipline?

  6. And it's always scouts and professionals that he hears it from. There must be a scout in the Sioux locker room daily over the Hak tenure that relays this information to him. Or portraying students and hanging out with the hockey players away from the rink to get dirt.

I'm sure if a pretty woman prodded him over a cup of coffee he would tell her about his CIA missions, number of kills in Fallujah, and which pro scouts ask his advice.

  7. I say try him at forward again too. He has had some torubles back at D lately making some costly bad decisions.

I don't have any trouble with him at forward but having a D-man who can break out of the zone by himself is a hot commodity and I don't think he has made more mistakes than anyone else save Macwilliam.

  8. Given that we haven't won on Friday there in the last 10 years, it sure would be nice to pick up a win Friday and actually have an opportunity to sweep!

I'm sure the players are aware of the Friday night curse and will put in the a solid effort it's not like they have anything to do Saturday besides rest up in the hotel after a night of hard work.

  9. Full disclosure (as many of you know): I am a SCSU fan and am an alum of both of these schools so this is always a fun one for me. In any event, I'll be making the trip on Friday with a Sioux fan. Can hardly contain my excitement this week.

A number of downtown bars have shuttles that will take you to and from the Hockey Center. Among them: McRudy's, Howie's, and MC's Dugout. There are more, I just can't remember which ones. As others have noted, MC's Dugout and The Red Carpet (and adjacent martini lounge) are popular spots. Also, I would suggest the White Horse and/or House of Pizza for pregame food and drinks.

There are usually a large contingent of Sioux fans in St. Cloud for this series, you'll have a good time.

Can you guarantee I'll have a good time? I'm on the fence about attending.
