  1. I just want to go on the record saying I would take this guy in a second. He may have to drop a level if he wants to continue coaching, why not to the newest member of the Big Sky?

  2. The media fall out is definitely discussion worthy. The fact an immensne amount of skepticism is still out there to the validity of the story published by the Herald is noteworthy in and of itself. The fact that stories like this tend to lead people to think we may have a "dirty" program of sorts with our continuous after midnight follies. There is a lot of meat to the discussion and it's much more than whether 7 was intoxicated or not.

  3. Am I the only one who hopes for Hak to try and recruit Mario Lucia? I want to see Hakstol sitting the Lucia's living room with tDon, Mario, and Tony and explain the advantages North Dakota has to offer. Sure we may not get a commitment out of it, but it would be an entertaining discussion.

  4. I don't wanna speculate but I heard Josh and Mr. Kristo were at the same party, Josh threw Kristo head first into a snowbank and booked it for the hills. My niece's friend heard this from Bob Iwabuchi's illegitmate third cousin so don't quote me.

  5. Here's something that isn't speculation. Danny has had numerous alcohol related incidents, and is often more intoxicated than he should be on a night where he is "celebrating". The writing on the wall here is that alcohol contributed to this sad and scary development. I wish Danny a speedy recovery and hope he is able to live as painless and normal life as he can after he heals from this injury. It seems like every year an alcohol related incident is coming out of this program, I understand "boys will be boys", but an issue as serious as this should serve as a wake up call to the program. Again I don't want to detract from the seriousness of the situation Danny finds himself in, I do wish however that the coaching staff and the team begin to promote and engage in more responsible behavior away from the rink.

  6. UNDERRATED: Ryan Hill, and I'm not being a wise@$$. He's a good locker room guy and peacekeeper at times. He shows up everyday works hard and does whatever he can do to help the team even though he gets no recognition in the form of playing time or notoriety in the media.

  7. It's a bit early for me to make predictions, but on the surface I like our chances against Drake, Black Hills, Montana Western, Sioux Falls, Northern Colorado, Cal Poly, and USD. Not saying I'm overly confident in any of those matchups, but beyond the obvious first 4, I think UND has matched up quite well with Poly the last two years, and seriously doubt USD could be considered a heavy favorite in Grand Forks. Northern Colorado is Northern Colorado..................not overlooking them, just think they are the best chance for a road win.

This isn't necessarily groundbreaking by any means but a source at the university says Faison will be inking an FBS game with New Mexico State his previous employer in 2013. I'd expect it to be officially announced in the coming months.

  8. It likely would have been reviewed upon the first stoppage of play. However, UND scored a legitimate goal before the first possible whistle, therefore there was no need to review. Either they counted Cichy's goal and the following goal would have been waved off, or vice versa.

The refs weren't at fault for that one.

If I were Jeff Jackson and Notre Dame I would demand that goal be reviewed. 2-3 minutes ran off the clock because of that non-call, in that time span either team could have scored the winning goal in a game that ended in a tie.

  9. I like Century to bounce back after a couple of tough losses with a 6-0 win over an undermatched Hazen team.

Davies-Devils Lake is intriguing as Davies is coming off a 14 goal win over a Dickinson squad. I like the Firebirds at home 4-1 though, experience being the big difference maker here.

Red River will get a good physical test against the Pirates tonight, I think they have too much up front though to be slowed down, I'll take the Riders 5-1.

Finally in South's Super Bowl against Moorhead I see the Spuds depth powering them to a 4-0 win. South lost a goalie and a lot of depth in the Davies split, Moorhead should come out of Section 8 in Minnesota this year.

    Finals from Thursday:

    Red River-6

    Crookston-1

    Devils Lake-4

    Fargo Davies-1

    Century-8

    Hazen-0

    Moorhead-3

    Fargo South-0

    Not bad predictions eh?

  10. Tonight's conference games include Century @ Hazen Beulah and Fargo Davies @ Devils Lake,

Non-Leage games include Red River playing host to Crookston and Fargo South/Shanley hosting Moorhead,

    any insight or predictions?

  11. Red River is deeper than Central by a long shot. If Central is going to win they are gonna have to find secondary scoring, they are unproven past their top three and are atrocious defensively. At the end of the day I do think they are the favorite to win but it's definitely not as cut and dry as its made out to be.
