  1. I am Irish and I can certainly hold my own with the AC boys - however, it saddens me to see the small town I am from which used to have more Sioux fans than Bison fans almost all yellow now, with several groups purchasing buses or other vehicles so they can drive down and tailgate in Fargo.  When you get out of Grand Forks you can see how low we let this program get.  I'll admit that I have been expressing my frustration on this board about the attitude here that let Muss drive this program into this ditch and continue on the journey for so long.  You are right - it's probably time I let this go.  So far Bubba is doing what he can with the hand he was dealt.  I like the new attitude.  We need to reclaim our status around the state in more ways than one.

Irish, I too am from a small town that is now full of "Bison Fans".  The thing is, there are two kinds of fans:  true fans that stick with their team, year in and year out, and fair weather fans. What is kind interesting is that only a few of these "fans" have supported the Bison throughout the years and they are actually pretty decent people.  The really arrogant ones have only been fans since the bison became a power.  These "fans" and I use the term lightly, could not have named a player on the bison team seven or eight years ago.  I know they can get really old, but really they aren't worth any response.

  2. Appears to be another good "get".  Ladies certainly don't like their weight discussed but she is a big girl (200 lbs) - she won't be pushed around underneath the basket.

With five commitments already, I wonder if that means we have no interest in the Stewart girl from Minot.  I thought we would go after her as she apprears to be pretty good and her dad & uncle played at UND.

I have been told that she is an outstanding softball player and will get offers from some major schools.  I believe Arizona is after her.

  3. Absolute shot in the dark, but here it is:

QB: 1) Joe Mollberg 2) Ryan Bartels

HB: 1) Cedric Simmons 2) Adam Shaugabay

FB: 1) Dustin Iverson 2) Dwayne Pecosky

TE: 1) Zach Adler 2) Tucker Nordby

    WR1: 1) RJ McGill 2) Tyhre Ivery

WR 2:1) Casey Young 2) Brandon Walker

LT: 1) Brendan Slaight 2) Dan Bell

LG: 1) Colton Boas 2) Sean Meehan

    C: 1) Ben Henson 2) Shea Walker

RG; 1) Brandon Anderson 2) Jacob Francis

RT: 1) Devin Barton 2) Adam Stiner

LE: 1) Jordan Hinojosa 2) Alex Carrothers

NT: 1) Shea Walker 2) Jonathan Harris

RE: 1) Marcus Cheatom 2) Spencer Cummings

LOLB: 1) Javen Butler 2) Alex Hickel

    MLB1: 1) Will Ratelle 2) Brian Labat

    MLB2: 1) Dylan Bakker 2) Ben Peters

ROLB: 1) Dayo Idowu 2) Brandon Larson

    CB1: 1) Alex Tillman 2) Chris Carter

    CB2: 1) Dominic Blackmon 2) Charles Flowers

FS: 1) Chris Hannible 2) William James

SS: 1) Baylee Carr 2) Cole Reyes

    K: Reid Tauberheim

    P: Mitch Meindel

So you don't see Aeron Carr in the mix at wide receiver.
  4. This kid was the one who was also here when Hinojosa and Tillman were here. Very nice pickup.

Am I may be wrong about this but it seems as though we are going to have a surplus at outside LB and be short at inside LB. Am I missing something?
  5. I can't give you specific names, but scholarships are being modified which I guess is an indirect way to have kids leave. I am not surprised. Bubba is going to shape the team based on hard work, accountability, and attitude. Some of those characteristics definitely weren't displayed by some of Mussman's boys. I'm sure names will start to surface soon.

It kind of makes you wonder if guys like Jameer Jackson would have been let go if they hadn't chose to leave.
  6. Did you think they were going to turn it around in 2 months of off-season conditioning? The new staff lost 10+ players (most actually played) and are going to lose/cut more in the next few weeks.

I tried to say that the cupboard was bare a few months ago and got ridiculed by somebody. The cupboard is as close to bare as it gets. This thing is going to get worse before it gets better, there aren't any Valpo's on the schedule to get them a win. Last year they beat Valpo, Idaho State, and UNC, the three WORST teams on the schedule.

If they get 4 wins next year they will be overachieving and the coaching staff should be commended. It's just the truth. The fact is the previous staff left the roster in shambles from the defensive line to the offensive line to the cornerbacks. There is hardly a position that is solidified with FCS players.

    End rant.

    You are exactly right UND-1

  7. I talked to my nephew this morning who lives in Minot, is a Beaver booster, and is close friends with Rick Hedberg. He said during the interview, that Hoffner was specifically asked if, given the oppurtunity, he would go back to Mankato. He answered, abolutely not, he was starting new in Minot. According to my nephew it was his wife that wanted to stay in Mankato. I would guess that Hoffner had better hope to hold on to his Mankato job, because he has screwed his reputation.

  8. Thanks, I wrote John but wondered if it might have been Pete! Refresh my memory, who is the mom/wife?

Have you seen her play? If so, your thoughts?

Her mom was Julie Wahl and I believe she was Miss Basketball. Hannah runs the floor quite well for a big girl and is pretty athletic. She can be pretty dominant but playing class b probalby hasn't faced to much competition. I'm sure there will be a pretty big learning curve.
  9. Does anyone know if Hannah Stewart, the all-state 6'2" BB player from Minot Ryan, is the daughter of former UND BB letterwinner, John Stewart? I think he lives in Minot.

She is apparently very good and just a junior. If she is DI material, it would be nice to have an inside track on landing her.

Her dad is Pete Stewart and yes he is a former UND player. Her mom also played at UND and currently is the girls coach at Minot Ryan
  10. Two big winners of the offseason that I can see from the prospectus. Dustin Iverson put on 25 lbs. He's now 6'3" 250 and athletic. Will Ratelle put on 15 lbs and was top 5 in the 40.

Does anyone know if a grey shirt, (Will Lyons) can participate in spring drills?
  11. What's the deal with the links that require signing up for the Herald subscription? Can you designate the links in your main page with a different color if they demand payment or subscription so the readers don't waste time clicking and getting the sales pitch?

Does anyone know if we are now going to have to take a subscription to the herald to get these articles.
