If the two issues were the same, basketball would have been eliminated from UND Athletics yesterday by the Hated State Eight.
I agree, don't blame basketball.
I think that Tom Douple and the Summit League Officials have read this board and they realize that UND isnt a basketball school and that und fans have continually ripped on the summit league over the years. I can see Tom Douple saying "we dont want all of this media attention and anti-sioux rallies' and jerseys in our league" just my 2 cents. plus threads like this will further emphazise this dilemma.

how about und just move on, ndsu already has. thats the most novel concept. if und is so great, do it on your own like ndsu did without ndsu's help. cmon I dare ya.

mpls bison is NOT a bison fan, nor a summit fan. Im a summit league fan for mens and women's, and I don't want und in the league, I didnt want usd either, but alas, they probably both will get in, because tom douple said "dont schedule und til nickname is gone" but they have all scheduled them. *sigh* I know he is frustrated, and either way, the nickname is still an anchor for und.

250 fans? geesh, no one cares about und in the ndsu circles im afraid. wouldnt the bisonville crazies go to a game if they REALLY wanted to play und in all sports.
the litmus test has failed, ndsu has 2 good baseball players Wentz & Kline, thats it. So its not a big deal.

MPLS you shouldn't post, seriously.
More Sioux. IUPUI got 3 years probation and had to forfeit about 48 wins I believe from 2003-2005 in 6 different sports (only 5 in basketball) I know the Summit Commissioner isn't too happy with it.

Hockey is not a major sport nationwide, the facts are all over on that.
My thoughts as an avid basketball man. Horizon League has Butler and to some extent UW Milwaukee that are really really good programs, after that UW Green Bay, Valpo.. etc etc.
Id Say Horizon is here ------ and Summit is just slightly below _____. Summit is improving every year. ORU and IUPUI and OAKLAND are 3 tough teams, with NDSU and SDSU picking up much better athletes in recruiting, thats 5 teams that are very even and provide solid basketball and coaching. whereas, everyone in the horizon is chasing butler.

p.s- hammer can leave fargo anytime he wants, his 1 hour show is horrendous, it seems like even the und coaches hate being on there.

my contact at cretin derham said he wasnt fond of grand forks and just wanted to be down in iowa where he watched his brother and made some friends and didnt really care if he was a walk-on at IOWA or play at und.

NDSU and UND have 2-3 players out of what, 300+ get in trouble every year, it comes with the territory. I say big deal, nowadays with the media and facebook, texting, message boards, we HEAR about all of it now.
Now, Bohl has given out 2 games here or there, but now its Zero Tolerance for a bigger misdemeanor/felony. I dont follow hockey at all , so i cant comment on what hackstall has done. carry on.

i am somewhat surprised by Ben's rise. (didnt mcdermott recruit these uni kids?) congrats are in order for him.
I look for him to continue UP the ladder by taking better jobs each time.
und to a better ndsu to a better uni to a better iowa?
