  1. First of all, I don't buy your premise. But even if it was true, is that really the first thing you are thinking about when you are looking at when thinking about going to watch the Sioux play an opponent in basketball or football, their acedemic programs? Hell, why not join the MIAC. Those schools graduates are very highly regarded by employers in the Twin Cities.I'm not here to argue which school or conferences are better academically or which schools are peer schools and which are not. But I know Oakland, IUPUI and Oral Roberts put teams on the basketball floor every year that would compete for if not win titles in the Big Sky and they are fun to watch. Same can be said for several of the MVFC teams. Both conferences have their pluses and minuses, but I think I would rather not be the lone wolf in the Dakotas in either conference.

I do wish the SIoux and their fans good luck in the coming seasons, hopefully the 2 closest schools geographically don't decide to make the jump to the WAC in the near future. That could be a deal breaker for UND. I'm guessing the Summit would welcome UND in if they could afford the Big Sky buyout. Does anyone know what that is?

As much as it pains me to agree with you. I do one of the main reasons for UND not joining the summit was it didn't have football in it and it didn't look like the MV was going to add any schools, plus with the thought of Montana and Montana st leaving the big sky I am not sure this is looking like a good decision. Lots of people are posting that there arenplenty of good rivalries in the big sky counting southern Utah and cal poly and cal Davis we already play them and don't get good crowds don't see why they would get any better. The ability to play ndsu usd sdsu and uni in non conference games is great but would have been much beter to play them all every year. And with the possibility of a big ten hockey conference coming up the hockey team is losing two of their best series every year. This is a crucial time for UND. I HOPE IT WORKS OUT

  2. So reports are coming in that und is going to announce on Monday that they will become one of the new members of the big sky conference. The visit by the summit officials has been cancelled. The big sky is a great conference but is it the best choice for UND?

  3. Very unfortunate that his career had to end this way.

Landry wasn't a terrible QB by any means, but his inability to throw with much accuracy on the intermediate routes really put a damper on UND's offense these past two seasons. I really thought his big arm would come in handy, but we would have been better off with a lesser-armed QB that was more accurate and more comfortable in the pocket like Manke and Freund were.

I also hope someone like Nichols or even Hendrickson gets some time at QB the rest of they year just so we know where we are at going into 2011. With all of the injuries (I understand that Murray may be out now as well?) I think UND should be getting as many young guys reps as possible the rest of the way.

Manke And Freund had the benefit of throwing short passes to the best WR dressler in the history of the school and hand it off to one of the fastest in Ryan chappell. Not exactly anyone of that ilk on this team to help out.Something should be said for the fact Jake came in against grand valley after fruend got hurt lead und on two scoring drives in the playoffs with the same knee injury as a sophomore and now played two quarters with it again. Hopefully some of the younger QB'S learned a little about toughness and giving everything you have, and no matter what anyone says try and make plays that win games picks or not

  4. Are you even a football fan?? Who is the leader on offense...THE QUARTERBACK!!! He calls the plays in audibles, he throws the ball. Have you seen his stats? Not that impressive. He is a D2 QB on a FCS team. 61.8% completion rating, 11 TD 6 INT 1328yds Last year he had 12 TD and 9 INTs with a 59% completion rating not much improvement for a senior. And with this high flying offense he just doesn't fit the mold of a passing QB. He forces passes (we saw that against Idaho) he overthrows wide open receivers. So why shouldn't I blast the QB I sure the hell is not going to praise him.

Ha am I a fan ive seen every Sioux game since 1980 clearly you haven't the kid is a great leader which is obvious by him playing hurt and watch the game the coaches call the audibles at UND and as for a completion % of 61 the best qb in the country kellen moores is 64. And I guess I didn't consider a high flying offense one speedy receiver and a way below average line no tight end and two running backs who can't stay in the lineup. And as for picks some are bad throws but most are him trying to make plays to WIN games. Which is what a leader does. Wow a few more fans like you and we'll be the gophers. Overall was he the greatest ever probably not but not anywhere near as bad as you think

  5. Obviously people missed what I said to start this thread. Before this game I have said fire Mussman he is horrible about as bad as Landry but then I think back and took a look at Roger Thomas and what he did in 1986-1989...nothing besides get our @sses kicked in the NCC espeically by NDSU but by the early 90's we were playoff bound and in 1993 we conquered the NCC. So maybe with the filtering out of D2 players (Landry!!) we could start to grow as a FCS team. We hit a bump in the transition road but maybe its better to have a season like this in transition than to have a season like this and missing the playoffs (2009 NDSU).

Wow you really need to get over your weird personal vendetta against Landry if you think that the only thing wrong with the team right now is the QB you might be dumber than that bison fan posting on a UND board what type of trash is being talked by Sioux fans on Montanas board. I guess I didn't know the teams other options at qb were Peyton manning and Tom Brady do you watch the games at all the TEAM is young and not very good right now stop blaming one guy for the whole teams bad season

  6. Absolutely.

I just think some players get the "Joe Mauer" treatment because of their hometown. It goes both ways, people who are calling for a different QB need to remember what you have just said. People who defend the "local boy" need to be fair and balanced and admit when mistakes are made.

Ya should Jake have thrown the ball away at the end of the game yes let's not get to into blaming the qb for the whole loss a made field goal with three mins left and none of you have anything to whine about plus starting a drive on your own twenty five with one min and no timeouts not a good place to be in as a team not very likely to begin with

  7. You are 100% wrong.

We should be bitching about Landry AND what you mentioned above, Mussman needs to go. Sick of the inconsistancy.

I agree about mussman he seems to have the attitude that it's ok to lose as long as it's a close game. The program should be much further along than this. And Landry is a good QB I don't like the offensive play calling at all and other than hardin he has no other threats what so ever

  8. Maybe instead about bithching about landry you should be talking about the four hundred fifty yards of offense we gave up or how every game we lose he has to throw on every play because we are losing. The whole team plays a bad game and you blame him for everything. It's pretty obvious the coaches didn't have the team ready
