  1. I also like these better then the men's new RBK's. These are easier to read as the letters seem to be a little more spread out. They need to do these in the Home Whites now!

  2. I give The Edge a decent rating. I have stayed at cleaner places but the kids liked it. For a damn good burger check ou The Anchor Bar in Superior. Lots of maritime memorabilia and kid friendly over lunch hour.

6 of us heading to D-town. The Anchor Bar has the best burgers in the area by far!! I lived there for 3 years and everytime we go back for hockey, vacation, etc the Anchor is a for sure stop. Cheap as well. Of course thats just one for sure stop of many in Duluth. We are staying at the Holiday Inn, and we usually hit up Aces (if its still called that?) just a block away I think from hotel.
  3. Thanks for the interest! It's a shared event between SiouxSports.com and the Center Ice Club from St. Cloud State. Simply put, it's people getting together to celebrate the great sport of hockey. We talk about the rivalry, the traveling trophy, and the games. We give away door prizes, and everybody goes away happy. Oh, and it's free!

I'd love to hear from others of you who have been to one of these events in Grand Forks or St. Cloud to get other perspectives on the fan socials.

    See you Saturday!

My wife and I, 2 other Sioux fans and a couple of those Husky fans always hit this event both in GF and in The Cloud. Always a good time, and usually some decent door prizes. I did end up winning a Husky T-shirt one year at The Cloud, but later was approached by a Husky fan who happened to win a Sioux shirt and we switched prizes. Good times had by all.
  4. There will be a Benefit/Silent Auction at the East Grand Forks Eagles Club from 12 noon to 4:00pm this Saturday. Please check out the link below.

The benefit will include a "loaded" baked potato bar with all the fixings, a silent auction, and Ryker Fan wrist bands for purchase. Ryker fan t-shirts can be ordered. Ryker French, is the 8 month old son of Tim & Michelle French of East Grand Forks. He was found unresponsive, without a pulse and not breathing at his daycare on Friday, October 8th, 2010. Ryker was airlifted to Sanford Health in Fargo and hospitalized for 3 1/2 weeks. He has made miraculous improvements, however has a long road of recovery ahead of him that includes daily nursing cares, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and much, much more. For more information about Ryker, please visit his caringbridge page at http://www.caringbri...rfrench/mystory Supplemental funds will be provided by Thrivent Financial for the benefit. Donations can also be made at any Bremer Bank, under the Ryker French Benefit Account.

A couple of items that will be up for auction is a Ryan Duncan Salzburg Red Bulls jersey which is autographed. There is also a Chicago Wolves jersey which is autographed by Andrew Kozek. Everyone in the area is more then welcome to attend. I will add a photo of the Kozek jersey once it becomes available.

  5. According to my first post I am excited to watch the ladies play this year and it's mostly because of the the Lam twins coming to UND, after a year at another school. I am not sure where I said "they shouldn't be considered for a letter". I never said they don't deserve a "Letter", just that it caught me off guard when it was released that there would be 4 ladies with C's. I did however say that getting a C without playing a game, for UND that is, did catch my eye. Maybe an "A" for this year as others posted earlier. As far as the comment thinking that I said the twins got a C just because of the Silver medal, seriously? It was a simple reply to the Accolades argument that would favor the twins past over anyone on the UND roster ever. No one to play women's hockey at UND has accoumplished what the twins have. No matter who the C was last year, they had no chance at retaining it this year if they did have eligibility left.

  6. If we were to go only off accolades outside of UND, think about this: When Karvinen does make it through the clearinghouse for the second half of the season, does that mean she may be wearing a letter as well? She did just win a Bronze medal, which is accomplishing more then any other player on the UND roster besides the Lam twins with the Silver. Heck, if Poulin (Gold medal winner) would have decided on UND instead of BU we could have had 4,5 or even 6 ladies wearing a letter this year then right?
