  1. I think some of us are going to try and buy some tickets from scalpers tonight. Hopefully they're decent seats and not too expensive!

Last year a friend and I showed up right at puck drop for the Sioux/Goph game, and we got awesome seats (116 row 12 I think) from the "Scalpers" outside....he sold for under face, too. So, good luck! See you there!

  2. Don't tell ultra-pinko council member David Thune that. As far as he's concerned, Norm Coleman and hockey have KILLED downtown.

    Ridiculous.

Hockey fans spend a LOT of money. Ever heard of "cheap seats" at a hockey game....not really.

I'm SO psyched for Friday night, however, I'd rather see the Gophs ultimately lose to the Sioux instead of UMD. :)

Wish I could take the whole day off, but have to rush after work, gather my minions, and get my rear downtown to have food and beers!

  3. Alarys (downtown St. Paul, on 7th Street - waitress' wear very little clothing, cheap domestic beer specials)

Joseph's Grill (south of the river, across the Wabasha bridge - shuttle available)

Bulldog (Just opened across from Mear's Park. Incredible selection of beer on tap. I always walk to the Xcel from here before Wild games)

Eagle Street Bar (Adjacent to the Xcel. Will be hard to get a drink close to game)

Alary's will have specials and a shuttle to the game. The place fills up with Gopher fans but their season will be over Thursday night.

    Alary's is not my style.

Bulldog sounds kind of good, just looked at their website. Not a bad walk, especially if the weather keeps cooperating!:)

I used to work downtown St. Paul a few years ago, and it's amazing how many places have opened up or revamped since then!!! Hockey lovers win!

  4. Wondering if there's a hotel/restaurant/bar (not necessarily downtown) that offers shuttle service to the game...? (NOT Bennett's!)

Otherwise, I hear of a lot of Sioux fans going to Wild Times--Sounds like fun, but at what point is it so crowded it's not worth going in? I've gone there *after* Wild games without many issues, but just checking if anyone knows more than me. If the game starts at 7, you'd almost have to get there for Happy Hour. haha.

    Ok, input appreciated. Thanks!

  5. FYI:

Barnes and Noble's merchandise was moved to the Sioux store at the Ralph. They won't be carrying any more stuff for the time being, they're transitioning to new ownership.

I saw big decals at Scheel's on Sunday and good deals on jerseys and hoodies
