  1. Hey aleah,

you definately have a better resume than I do. I'm a has been never was.

Glad you want to play in net. It should be fun since POI has had a gal in the nets too.

do we have the link to the POI thread?

been a long year, i wonder where the trophy is.

  2.

Great effort again by the Sioux Sports players. We had three sets of lines and two pairs of defense vs. eight or nine skaters. I believe your goalie again earns player of the game honors as it was still a 3-1 game midway through the third.

    Thanks.

I think i'll skate up next year if we can find a goalie. I wanted to break the puck out and skate it up today.

  3. Once again I am going to combine my love for Sioux Hockey with my Limousine Company and take a limo from Fargo to The Ralph on Friday.

If anyone is interested in making the trip call Legacy Limousine at 701-388-9999 or post on here if you wish.

I have room for 6 - 8 more people and I'm providing the BEER.

I don't have a ticket yet....and am looking for something better than what ticketmaster has. So let me know if you have an extra or two.

    One more thing.....

Does anyone have an EXTRA copy of the North Dakota State University Sioux POSTER. Priceless!

    (sorry, I could't resist)

    Hey BFoSH,

when are you heading up there. ill probably just drive by myself but might as well entertain a party ride. how much $$?

  4. Very fun game. I was worried that they were going to tie it up. I could feel the pressure.

Thanks for putting it together. I would suggest 60 minutes. It is fairly tough finding a good central rink to play at that isn't high buck. I used to play at St. Louis Park a lot and that is a pretty good central location with good ice. But really whatever you can find, we know it's difficult lining things up.

Please say thank you again to the ref. He did a good job.

Great job kateskate. I think the pink socks were a nice touch. Good luck with the tryouts.

I plan on making a couple modifications maybe to the trophy.

  5. As a big bison fan who attended the final 5, I thought it was funny but completely outrageous at the same time. Many people there had to point the poster out to me since I seemed to be the only guy at the bars/X to be wearing the green and gold. How could the poster maker mess that one.

NDSU has had a problem with recognition. If you remember back to the Bison win over the Badgers in BB the ESPN announcers mixed us up for you guys. "NDSU fighting bison...We knew that NDSU had a good hockey team but we didn't know they had a good basketball team.."

Then I heard a badger fan behind me this weekend ask "Is UND from Fargo?"

So I agree, most people don't have much of a clue on what goes on in ND. For the most part they really don't care.

I also wonder...maybe it was a gopher fan that sabatoged the poster. But that would take someone of sports intelligence to know about the rivalry.

I wonder if we might see: "University of Minnesota Crookston" for next weekend's programs.

  6. So far SS.com has 12 position players and stuckinfargo. FCMK still hopes to make it, but he's not sure at this point. Wantagh hopes to be there as well. Unless someone comes in under the radar, we should have a max of 15 position players. A full bench, but not as many as last year.

We don't care what GPL has or doesn't have. ??? It's our year this year. ;)

3 full lines is perfect for 1.5 hours. I agree with the max of 15.

Just a reminder it is from 11pm to 12:30pm at VMIA in N. Minneapolis on Sunday.

Here is the mapquest map to VMIA:

    hrkac and UND grad relative

    mksioux

    BigChief

Stuckinfargo (goalie) & Sioux fan friend

    MinnesotaNorthStar

    kateskate

    Sioux-cia's son

WildSioux and his friend who played last year

    and maybe:

    Wantagh

Fire Chartreuse Musky Killer and friend (goalie?)

If my math is correct, that's 12 position players and one goalie that are in and possibly 2 more position players. I believe FCMK's buddy is a goalie. Correct me if I'm wrong FCMK.

yeah mksioux said something about another goalie being there. that is OK. i will be bringing both sets of gear. im a decent forward too so if we have a second goalie i can play up. that might actually be good since i had a slight groin pull on a penalty shot a week ago.

  8. i got 200 large on the SS team

seriously if there are any gophers fans that want to put up a bet on this game then post here or pm me

That's some serious confidence AZ  . POI leads the all-time series 2-0-1

    1.) 4-4

    2.) 7-3, 8-4?? Can't remember(or don't want to) that one since I didn't have a great game.

    3.) 7-5

  9. This message is for the guys who have either already said they want to play this game or are reasonably certain they will eventually throw their hats in to play. There's a Twin Cities high school player who would like to play but is concerned about the fact that she's an 18 year old female. kateskate has played for 10 years and attended Sioux summer hockey camp the last four years. She asked me to check with y'all to see what you think. If you don't want to post your message on the board, please email me at dlveer@yahoo.com.

I'm ok with it. It's a win win situation for us. I'd like to see her score a few on the POI.

  10. I'll contact him and report back. I know he'll want to play if he doesn't have some other tournament already scheduled.

I'm here. I have to get on a serious workout program if I want to play in this game again. :p

I think I lost 20 pounds last year, but definately worth it. I do suggest as I read earlier on this thread to keep the team to 15 or under players to get some flow. Though, I certainly never have to worry about ice time or touching the puck. ;)

Yeah I think I should be available. I'm traveling from Fargo so if you can get an early afternoon time is key. Enough time to wake up and cure a solid hang over, but not too late to head back home.

As always, if you can get Jake Brandt, I can step out of the way. I can play forward too if you need.

    Thanks for lining this up.

  11. Just wanted to thank all the sioux fans on their praise. I went to the hockey series against mankato st. and I heard the same thing.

This win also helps UND (D1 transition pressure) and a great win for North Dakota.

Just a fun and exciting story of david vs. goliath. I'm sure the gopher fans are happy for us too.

  12. Parise is the obvious #1. However I agree that you want to keep him not only sharp but healthy. He can probably handle a 90% or more load but why risk that early in the season. Parise has improved greatly in the past couple years and I commend him on what he has done. Once a flopper with questionable position is now a stalwart in goal with great position.

Nobody in the WCHA is lighting things up early on and the sioux will have to be prepared for the gopher's push later in the season. With no other team really pressuring anyone else to get wins this early there is no pressure to start Parise for every game.

Starting sooner or later I would just use Lamareux splitting time for the mankato/SCCC/michTech type of series and play parise both nights for the big series against W or M.

  13. sorry we had to leave right away. i needed to drive back to fargo as soon as i could. i had a mountain of homework waiting for me. damn gradschool.

thanks for the praise. that would have been awesome to win that one given the odds. at the end of the game i had about 3 inches of snow covering most of the crease area. that part of the ice definately got used.

we started out really good in the first minutes of the game. with the full bench i thought we would do fine. then things kind of turned south a bit. still, you guys battled back to make it 5-4 at one point. i messed up on the 6th and 7th goal a little bit with controlling the rebound. i wouldnt mind having those back, but overall im glad it was a close game.

see you all next year hopefully.

  14. I will be making the trip from Fargo to the final5 no matter if the sioux make it or not. If you want my services in net let me know. I didn't play up to expectations last year and I can understand if you want to go with someone else.

Michigan Tech is going to win it all. I'm making that call right now.
