  1. I watched Huntsberry for Mary play in the NSIC tournament a couple weeks ago against Duluth. He was great in that one game sample. Scored 40-some points, had great control of the game, and had a great demeanor on the floor. Yes, it's D2, but I came away very impressed with his performance against one of the best teams Division 2. Couldn't help but think that it was probably going to be his last game for Mary given the current environment.

Wishful thinking of the USF coach? LOL

They say what they had planned with FB?

Hope the NSIC doesn't get any bright ideas and replace Augie with another school (16 is too many for a conference, especially with the unbalance in the FB divisions)

Guess I have to plan for the announcement coming soon....

    sigh.

He said it sounds like they plan on playing in the Pioneer for FB.

kWSN 98.1 Sioux Falls says UMKC will announce tomorrow they will join the Summit and Augie may come after that.

Dont have a link as another posted it.  Could be “wishful” thinking.

The WAC would be dead after a couple of years if that happens and the Summit would still be vulnerable if UMKC doesn’t start baseball.

The UMKC athletics site had an announcement today, but more with improving school spirit, facilities and scholarships.  Tomorrow there will be a staffing announcement.

A close friend of mine is a head coach in the NSIC, and the Augie thing is basically a done deal. The NSIC is already planning for their departure, basically just waiting for an announcement this winter sometime.

We have some great restaurants & bars downtown: MacKenzie River Pizz, Grill & Pub, Phillips Avenue Diner, Minervas, JL Beers, Crave, WoodGrain Brewing Co., The Blarney Stone Pub, Fernson’s on 8th, Monk’s House of Ale Repute, Prarie Berry East Bank, PAve, Swamp Daddy’s Cajun Kitchen to name a few. If you want delicious diner type foods but nothing fancy, I recommend The Crack’d Pot just off of Russell St. on Minnesota Ave...close to The Denny (arena).   Btw, if you or your friends need more tickets, I have 2 lower bowl tickets remaining. PM me if interested.

Agree with all of this, the downtown area is pretty solid with plenty of options, but it's not the most conveniently located in relation to pre and post game activities. I live 5 minutes from the Denny and there isn't the greatest selection in that area of town yet, but there's a Buffalo Wild Wings basically in the parking lot of the arena, if that's your type of fine dining. Across Russell Street attached to the new Holiday Inn there is the Crooked Pint Ale House. There is also a Mexican restaurant, Casa Del Rey across West Street on the east side of the arena which is a great place.

As a lifelong North Dakotan, and UND grad, currently living in Sioux Falls I was pretty disappointed we couldn't make the regional, but I still look forward to watching some good hockey this weekend. Hoping some UND fans still plan on making the trip and providing a good atmosphere.

  5. You people are so stupid. The conference arranges deals to get their conference's games on TV, national TV. Gee, I wish were still on the LiveStar Network. Hope you're happy Ole in MSP!

  6. You are being quite dense. This has nothing to do with und. It's conferences selling national rights. So be mad with us joining big sky and being on root. Then blame nchc for losing hockey next year bc of deal with CBS. Again it's the conferences.

Ole in MSP is quite the rockhead, kudos my lad!

  7. That was an awesome game. I know we had a little let down in the 3rd quarter and our offense kind of struggled in the 2nd half, but they both showed up in crunch time. Our defense was very adequate in the 4th quarter. Those last 5 minutes of the game were the most nervous/excited I have been about UND football since the transition. Even though we are out of the playoff race, we knocked Montana out of it too, officially, and man is it great to be in a conference.

  8. I can't get excited about sioux basketball any more....Before they printed the starters and the roster in the Fargo Forum I had no idea who any of these guys were. Men's Basketball has become insignificant at UND. When I was a student we used to go to just about every game and the crowd at the Hyslop was always great. I went to one game at the Betty and it was like watching a 5th grade game.....people uninterested, and the only ones who really cared were the coaches and the team. The students didn't even pay attention to the game......They have this great basketball facility and its half full.....

interest is low, yes, but there's reason to be optimistic. the young guys show flashes and hopefully they can develop into something, this season and the next season are a wash anyway. only thing we can win is some fake conference. yippee. just keep improving until 2012-13 and hopefully this will all change. put a good product on the floor and interest will be there, it's that simple.

  9. well, it looks like next year to echo chicago cubs fans, hopefully a couple juniors will stay to try and capture that elusive title. i KNOW we have the talent to do it, the focus is a whole other question. we have some good frosh coming in and maybe they can make an impact a la muse.

  10. Youmens hasn't played very much, if at all, in the 2nd half. :D

Jones and him got into an argument early in the second half. I heard Jones say "you're done" or something to that extent and that explains why he wasn't playing. I was about 8 rows behind the UND bench.
