  1. I think that part of the problem at UND with FB attendance is the coverage that the team gets. Maybe I am wrong, but I do not think that the Herald, Sioux Insider, or UND athletic site are anywhere near ready for a DI situation. I went to the UND FB site and got a spring update on the team. It had some gal interviewing Emmitt Lynch about his ballroom dance teaching. There are some videos in there about various position groups etc. and there are a few articles here and there about the QB competition, but they are not easy to find as weblinks and in general the coverage of the major D1 sport other than hockey just plain is terrible, at least from my point of view and with my internet resources. Other opinions?

For the most part, I disagree with your post, but I often disagree with most of your negative posts. The UND athletic site for football is good site and easy to navigate. I am also pleased with Sioux Football Insider. The Herald maybe doesn't do the greatest job, but I appreciate what they do. It appears to me that you are never happy with anything related to Sioux football.

  2. Correct. He can use the training facilities and get instruction from the strength and conditioning coaches, but he can't participate in practices or work with the basketball staff. (I'm assuming my info is correct about the type of ineligible he is, but I'm pretty confident in it.)

I heard that an additional core requirement has been added by the NCAA for 2009, which could result in more confusion for student athletes. Do you know anything about it Hammer?

  3. No, not what you can make up and tell us - actual references. Link, maybe? You are always the first one to call everybody out to show you proof of things. What proof do we have that you talked to the AD's from ndsu and SDSU? You know just as much as everyone else on here as far as I'm concerned. Remember these are the lofty standards you have set for everyone else. You can abide by them too.

Maybe he heard it from the same person that told him Tibesar had interviewed for the Bison dc?

  4. I've been rooting for you guys this year, but that is SH!TTY attendance, come on.

Get some people in the seats.

I laughed when I read your post. Especially when I read what you post about UND on Bisonville. Here is your latest comment about UND:

Not so tuff now tough guys, LOL

Pretty hard to fill a 25K retractable stadium, huh?

I listened to the whole game, they suck.

  5. He could be ineligible I don't really know if he is or isn't, but I really am not overly concerned about it, as I believe he was going to be red-shirted this season any way. If he is, in comparison to the Chappel situation he still has his red-shirt to use, which will be this year, and if indeed that would be the case, I'm sure that the efforts of the staff throughout his entire first year would be to get him on track, so that he would be ready to play and contribute by next year which would be the earliest in the plans anyway--if they already intended to red shirt.

He may not have the necessary grades in the core classes according to the NCAA Clearing House- which determines the elgibility on each in-comming athlete. He may have qualified for entrance into school- but maybe had some tougher grades in some of the core classes that the Clearing House looks at.

Honestly, maybe this is true, but even then- not at all unheard of, or uncommon. But first, I would consider the source... on a bison board. More importantly, there are alot of pieces in place to help all our student athletes and students at UND.

I don't know if it's true either, but he was to be red-shirted this season. NDSU would be quite familiar with players unable to play due to NCAA eligibility requirements, they currently have 4 football players unable to practice. NDSU fans will be all over this if it's true. While they have 4 athletes unable to practice no one on Sioux Sports has ever discussed it. Why? Because no one here cares. While the Bison care very much about what we do here. Even though they say they have moved on they can't get enough of us on their message boards. I truly wish they would move on!

  6. Not worried - but I find the lack of conversation on the subject in this forum interesting. Hey graduation happens at least at NDSU it does. No one is worried about our LB situation as we have some great people returning. QB position we're thin and we'll have to see what happens.

I find your obsession with the Sioux interesting.

Do you have a job? Most of you posts occur during what I would consider normal business hours. I would hate for you to be on my payroll.

  7. I find it odd that bison fans are so concerned about what happens at UND. They spend way too much time on our message boards. Apparently the bison fans that post here are unaware that UND is no longer their biggest rival. Remember, you have moved on. So could you please just move on?

  8. I think there may have been an article about his commitment to UND written by Erik Lofdahl on the minnesotapreps site, but it was a subscription article and I don't know exactly what it said. In any event, it's not a huge deal either way. It's not like UND is in need of another kicker until the 2010 season, anyway.

I couldn't find any confirmation from the Herald that he had ever verballed to UND. He was not the punter for Apple Valley in 2007.

  9. Is someone jealous......

UND coaches are not telling recruits the outdoor stadium is a done deal. To say so is ridiculous. The long term facility plan is discussed. The recruits know they will not see the retractable roof. Let's not make a big deal out of a non issue.

  10. He was never offered by NDSU, fact! One of the OL coaches liked him while the OC didn't like him so a scholarship was actually never extended.

Technically, you are correct. NDSU told him they had scholarship money available for him, 1/2 to a full ride. They wanted him to visit in January. He verballed to the Sioux in December. That is a fact!

  11. I have the following that have given verbal commitments to UND:

    Ross Brenneman

    Chris Tracy

    Dan Edem

    Seth Whistoff

    Brian Sorenson

    Marcus Hendrickson

    Kyle Cavil

    Mitch Haugeberg

    Ian McGurran

    Seth Nichols

Am I missing anyone? According to what I have read here, offers have been given to Ewing and Heimler. Anyone else?

  12. If UND says a player can play at NDSU then they are no longer obligation to come to the promised land. However, they are required to give up their childhood dream though!

UND did not bring Horner in for an official visit or offer him. That is a fact.

  13. A lot of offers are generally made on a recruit's official visit. If a kid chooses to forego a visit to a school because he's already accepted an offer elsewhere there is porbably a pretty good chance he hasn't been offered by that school as they haven't had the opportunity to have done so. It doesn't mean they were any less interested.

Very true. I know for a fact Whistoff had a visit to NDSU scheduled for December 15. He cancelled his visit and verballed to UND. Cavil said he had a visit scheduled with NDSU in January. I heard McGurran was to visit NDSU in January, but don't know that for a fact.

  14. Rumors says Bellmore and Schmidt from this staff for sure. Hedberg and Bubba are both going also.

Dale will not take any players from this university with him. I guarantee he wouldn't do that.

No way would Dale take Hedberg.
