  1. He played for the Sioux before I started following the team, but I was wondering if anyone know how Rob Blake is doing health-wise.

I think you may be referring to Jason Blake. He's doing great. Played for Anaheim last season,

  2. TJ Oshie signs 1-year contract with the St. Louis Blues

    Oshie talks about signing

Also, Brett Hextall tweeted that him, Chay Genoway, Brad Miller, Robbie Bina, and Ryan Martens will be at Memory Fireworks in Grand Forks from 4-6 PM today.

TJ is a lucky boy. In addition to his injuries, he has had some problems that are probably related to immaturity; most recently his two game suspension for being AWOL. There are many Blues fans that weren't happy with his behavior. Hopefully, the two game suspension was a wake-up call.

  3. A fact that should be of greater concern--but which the study fails to mention--is that per capita murder overall is only half as frequent in the United States as in several other nations where gun murder is rarer, but murder by strangling, stabbing, or beating is much more frequent. (47)
  4. You're right Dave, the numbers don't lie, you do. You're ignoring everything else and keep parroting this nugget spewed by a COMEDIAN who's been dead for 14 years. Hicks was dead three years before the UK even passed their most recent and most restrictive gun law, after which gun crime rose by 40%. Maybe Carrot Top has something interesting to say about that. What about the 1.5-2.5 MILLION times guns are used for self defense in the United States each year, does Gallagher have something to say about that? Does your guy Hicks separate the people that deserved it from his 23,000?

Unsurprisingly you didn't answer my question, at the very minimum, I hope you took the time to look it up. Maybe you missed it so I'll try again. Why don't "the streets run red with blood" in Kennesaw, GA?

He can't answer the question without blowing his 'platform' to kingdom come!

  5. I'm afraid I have some sad news. Last Friday my 3 year old son Will was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, or ALL. We have been in Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI since Monday. We have a CaringBridge site set up at:

    http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/willjacob

Please keep him in your prayers. So far the prognosis is good.

    Bob

Oh Bob, I'm so sorry!! If there's anything, I can do for you and yours let me know. Will be in my prayers for sure!!

  6. You made a choice as an adult

    Children don't have a choice

It all comes down to Choice! Do you have a choice or not?

It's been a hard week for those of us who knew Krista Gisvold. She was in a motorcycle accident. She chose to ride without a helmet. Her parents took her off life support a few days ago and donated her organs so others may live.

It's hard to make the right choice when your young and think you'll live forever. I know that I will always vote for a mandatory helmet law where ever I may end up and it comes up to a vote.

    RIP Krista.

  7. Based on the fact that I have zero respect for you or your opinion, nothing that you say can possibly hurt my feelings. The fact that I called you out for your behavior does not imply that my feelings are hurt. I'm just the kind of person who will return the favor when somebody gives me attitude.

Although many other SS.com members respond to my posts, most of the responses are not negative and even the ones that disagree with me are at least civil in their approach to giving a counterpoint to my point. Most people are not nasty and spiteful like you are. Not expressing any hurt feelings much to your dismay, just calling a spade a spade.

You're a miserable human being who thrives on negativity and drama. I would say the same thing to your face if we were to ever cross paths and you were to treat me in person the same way you treat me here. Now go ahead and have the last word that you so desperately crave, I'm done with this thread.

So DaveK, you don't like Sioux-cia. I haven't read anything she posted to you or about you that was anywhere near what other posters have posted about or to you. In fact I remember in the football thread other members really got on you and then there was that peewee (?)hockey thread where you totally were reamed by other members. Yet, you single out one member to jump all over. Get a grip!!

  8. I think Kozek made the decision to stay before the Frozen Four. Someone posted that Kozek's dad was telling people at the F4 that Andrew was staying and that he had already bought him a house in Grand Forks.

Thanks for staying your final year Andrew!!!

  9. The headline is a bit deceiving. I was ready to cash in college bonds for an Oshie Nike. I already have four replicas signed by him. TJ is great about signing autographs. I'm going to miss him. :D

  10. Impressive!!

*all 18 teams had a team GPA above a 2.7

*63% of our student athletes had a GPA above a 3.0

*47 student athletes had a 4.0 in the spring semester

*the overall student athlete GPA for spring semester was 3.170

*average women's team GPA was 3.330

So based on that, it's accurate to state the following is WRONG!!

I know that most of them (meaning in all sports) don't spend much time on academics, with a few exceptions, so yes I do know what I'm talking about a little tiny bit more than those of you that don't/haven't go(ne) to school with them.
  11. Ahhhhh noo.. That was you guys until '01.

No,that was Lucia. I seem to remember a quote attributed to him saying at a F5, that the only game worth playing well or with your all was the one for first place, third place didn't matter.

I also remember a quote from Andy Schneider that is someone's sig. "Doesn't matter if it's 1st place or last place, you're playing for the team and it's history." That's not quite it but pretty darn closs.
