  1. PCM I love your logic. Just annoy them back :silly: I kind of wanted to punch some noses but I think your tactics are better

I wonder why we cant all just admit that both the gophers and SIOUX had great years. Gophers fans can be proud of their year because I am VERY PROUD of being a SIOUX fan and the year we had. bottom line I would NOT trade with them because frozen fours are how you measure greatness, other than national championships of course

Wow, where was this sentiment when Doug Woog was coaching Minnesota?
  2. We have an IDIOT alert. :silly:

For years Sue fans gave Gopher fans grief because Woog could lead his team to multiple Frozen Fours but could never bring home the title. And now Hakstal is doing the exact same thing. I'm enjoying the irony of it all.

  3. dude, if you haven't watched the game yet....Lammy kept UND in it with some good saves, I don't know if Frazee or Briggs could have come up that huge. BC is a dang good team. the Gophs would have not kept it as close as UND did, thusly I say they would have destroyed us.

    W

These comments by Worthless are insane. UND and the Gophers are about as equal as two teams could possibly be. With Briggs in net I agree, no chance for the Gophers. But with Frazee I think the Gophers would have had a great chance to beat BC and certainly would not have been dominated the way the Sue were.
  4. Thats not a drubbing in any sense of the imagination.

That game was domination. Shots on goal were incredibly one sided. The Sue are a one line team and they got exposed badly last night. And Lammy is the cockiest goalie I've ever seen for a guy who has nothing to be cocky about.
  5. Dubay is as much anti-Sioux as many posters here are anti-Gopher. It's just that you'll find people here that will actually stand up for the WCHA even if it isn't UND being stood up for, where Dubay doesn't have the mental maturity to do the same.

Listening to you talk about mental maturity is absolutely priceless. Whenever Dubay has talked about the Sue in the second half of this season he's done nothing but gobble their goo, but nothing is ever good enough for you over sensitive, Gopher obsessed, whiny little babies.

I just got off the phone with the Boston College SID, and he told me my BC game worn jersey from last nights drubbing will be shipped out in 2-4 weeks. You all will get a nice look at it next December at Mariucci West when the Gophers are in town going for their 4th straight win in that arena vs. the Sue.

And Sue is a girls' name.

Hakstool=Woog... can't win the big one.

  6. Niskanen making first team really surprised me. Chorney and Goligoski are the best two D-men in the league. These awards are a bit strange though. I agree with Nodl winning rookie of the year, he deserves it more than anyone else. But how does Okposo make the second team and Nodl make the third team? How can another freshman be on a higher team than the rookie of the year? Not a big deal, just weird. And Mason Raymond had a great year, but Toews and his 1.41 points per game is simply amazing. I know there's only three forward spots, but Toews was outstanding this year and I feel deserved first team.

  7. Really? I heard that Madge fills it with Lux and has the entire Gopher team soak their hands in it before she does their nails. :)

When I toured the Ralph they showed us the hot tub that fits the entire Sioux roster. People can say what they want about the Gophers getting perms a few years ago and dying their hair blonde last week. But nothing is gayer than 20 Sioux players hot tubbing it together.
  8. Let them keep thinking that. They're in for a surprise.

    Briggs: .917 save % 2.10 GAA

    Lammy: .914 save % 2.31 GAA

Almost identicle stats, but Briggs has been absolutely terrible in the post season throughout his career. Lammy and Briggs are both average goalies at best. Fans of both schools look silly claiming one is better than the other. I personally feel they both suck.

  9. im guessing you havent seen him play much, and guessing you also didnt see the games this weekend. with that said, minus stats and whats on paper he was off his game. you have to remember scsu was playing one of the lowest scoring teams in the league too. like i said before, when you put the rebounds he was letting lay paired with a DECENT or DOT offensive line, there are going to be many goals scored. duluth just never seemed to get it in their head to follow up their shots.

Fine, if you want to look forward to playing a Senior, All-American, and Hobey Baker finalist coming off possibly his greatest performance ever in a game where his team needed him to be that good, then have at it.
  10. after seeing both scsu games this weekend, i will say this...goepfert=HUGE rebounds lately.

if he plays anything like he did this weekend, all the Sioux need to do is have one guy trailing about 15 feet behind just waiting for a puck. it was sick how many times that puck came out between the circles and no bulldogs were there. he definitely looked off his game all weekend. UMD shoulda had that third game also, but the puck decided to slide through goepferts legs on a very lame shot and hit the post. he did however make some big saves throughout the series.

im going to say for the UND/scsu game if the teams play as they did this weekend, its going to be UND 5-2

He stopped 67 of 69 shots he faced last night. He gave up 7 goals in almost four games this weekend. I don't know if I'd say he's off his game.
  11. wow - you came here just for that. All that is being said is that yes - perhaps the games were S.O. but all the seats were not filled for the Saturday games.

You said that Gopher fans won't show up for a championship game that Minnesota isn't playing in, and I pointed out what a stupid statement that is. The attendance for last year's game was over 19,000, and even if there were a couple thousand empty seats it's still a great crowd to watch two teams not from the Twin Cities.

And by the way, had Michigan defeated UND at last year's West Regional do any Sioux fans on here actually believe that the Ralph would have been packed to the rafters the next night for the HC/Michigan game? Of course not. The place would have been a morgue, and I wouldn't blame Sioux fans at all for not wanting to go see that game.

  12. I thought the Final Five was a meaningless tourney, just ask coach lucia.

Lucia's comments last year about the third place game were inexcusable. Even though he was essentially right (win or lose it wasn't possible for Minnesota to be placed anywhere but the #1 seed in GF), his comments gave his players an excuse to not care about the game. If the head coach doesn't care, the players sure won't care either. A lot of Gopher fans, including myself, were very upset by those comments and even more upset by some comments he made after the Holy Cross debacle.
  13. :) yeah its been soooooooooooo long, congrats on your 2 though, you gt us there, let me tell ya.....hang any final 5 banners or dairy queen cup banners?? those add nice touch to arenas. good luck in the final 5! hope you have your tix for the sat afternoon game ready :0 or will you not show up just like your coach and team dont?

Hanging banners for winning the WCHA Playoff Championship is stupid. I know this because UND only hangs banners for NCAA and WCHA Titles, and everything they do is right and if you do anything differently than them you're simply ass backwards.
  14. Facts show exactly what he is saying. Last year's championship game was between UND and St. Cloud. Those fans are the ones that filled the seats. The other examples demonstrate the fact that if the Gophers are not in the game, there are tickets available. The games were not sold out. The attendance numbers do not state Gopher fans filled the seats. They could easily have sold their tickets to someone else. As for the 3rd place game, the Gophers were in that game and it was not a sell out. That is his point.

Gopher fans can't win no matter what they do. Last year's attendance for the Final Five broke the all-time record even with the gophers losing both games. And first Sioux fans complain about the advantages of all the Gopher fans in the building and how unfair it is, yet then come back and say it was all Sioux and St. Cloud fans who attended the championship game. Which is it Sioux fans? Is the Final Five unfair due to it being like a home game for the Gophers? Or are there enough Sioux fans there to sell out the "X" in games not involving Minnesota? Can't have it both ways.

But I finally get it now... when there's only 16,000 fans for a third place game involving the Gophers, it's our fault. But when the championship game sells out, all the credit goes to the SCSU and UND fans. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

  15. and alot of Saturday afternoon as well as night tickets will be available as if the gophs lose Friday night - most of their fans won't go to a meaningless game and of course won't show at all for the championship game that they are not in it - even in their home town

Interesting. Last year's championship game, which the Gophers were NOT in, drew a sold out crowd of 19,282. The Thursday night game, which the Gophers were NOT in, drew a record crowd of 16,312. The Friday afternoon game, which the Gophers were NOT in, drew a record crowd of 16,468. And the third place game you mention that Gopher fans won't go to drew another record crowd of 16,164. Facts are annoying aren't they?
